He missed the double, which was the right shot. Selby then missed the long red so the double didn't lead to directly losing the frame in fact it led to Ding then missing a fairly routine shot on the red with the rest which then left Selby on but Selby didn't clear so a safety exchange ensued and Ding ended up leaving on a pretty hard shot which Mark then nailed into the heart of the pocket. Ding didn't do much wrong apart from missing the correct shots and then out saftied by the master.

What he needed to do was hide the red and thus force Selby to remove the one on the cushion, that shot was on.........easy shot too......... wrong option Ding |

The other red was probably 20cm off the cushion, if he makes the double it's a very real chance to make a clearance, and if he misses he is likely to leave it safe. Be sheer madness not to take it on. Okay maybe it's not an 80% chance of potting but it's pretty high.

Can't imagine any other pro refusing that shot apart from probably Ebdon! Selby's just on fire and had a very nice run of the balls this morning.
