Last week, Thursday was the only day of five that paid returns.
Over the week, of the 23 that didn't win their races, 7 came in second (30%).
I'm not trying to be a 'spin-master' on the stats to try to make a bad week look better. But I always look at my losing bets and take on board the reasons but also the result to keep things in perspective.
Those following the blog have seen when I've added up the fractions of seconds between a winning and losing day. As well, I also am a strong believe that horses aren't machines and have their 'off days' and will put this in the notebook.
I also questioned my selection of races and wondered if I had found quality form or 'race card filler'. And have I entered into a transition of goings and, like a football manager who at 30 minutes...
Wednesday finished with three winners and two each ways returning dividends out of eight selections. The ROI on the day came to 100%. That brings this week to 7 winners from 19 selections, a 37% strike rate and around a 55% ROI.
I'd also like to say thanks for the messages and comments. It is appreciated.

The week started out well with the returns on the day being just shy of 100% ROI.
Contributing to yesterday was putting lines through races the night before rather than in the morning.
When I sat down with the coffee, I had already struck all of Southwell and half the races off of Carlisle and Wolverhampton so there was no need to even glance at those races.
So far, Tuesday's in February have hit the betting wallet hard. Hopefully the stat that I am green so far in 2013 with Taunton returning 2 winners from 6 and 2 of the others returning each way dividends will help counter that.

UPDATES: Wetherby and Taunton are up. I am passing on Southwell

2:30...
Yesterday I managed a good read on one of the three tracks with Prima Porta winning at 10/1+ and Storm Survivor getting nicked at the line at equal odds.
That was enough to cover the day despite only one winner from eight.
I took on two races at Southwell. Hittinthe skids lead the pace from the opening of the stalls but faded when the field straightened out for the finish. Entitlement didn't like the sand.
I'll take the time to look at the results but think that it will take another few weeks until the new surface is packed in. The results are reminiscent to Kempton last fall where from race to race, there was no consistency in the times then it all came into line quickly in November.
Today's racing
UPDATE Passing on Wolverhampton but tomorrow will have...
I'm changing how the days are rolled out to take on the noon starts.
I'll be posting the 'weak faves' earlier. I'll try to do this all at once but if the schedule doesn't allow, I'll post the earlier races then double-check and post the balance.
I'll then follow with any selections to back, again, if necessary posting the early races then returning.
I'll continue to put updates in bold but it is worth checking in later since I tend to use the stop watch on the first few races these days then may follow with a later selections.
Evening racing, I will post if I will be playing. Good luck on your day.
