Everyone who approves of vigilante justice in a civilised society is a to55pot in my humble opinion.

Does that cap fit you?

You are supporting Police violence that is going to cost the officer his firearms certificate, probably his job and possible will see him in court to face the consequences of his cowardly actions. He is also the one who started throwing punches. He put himself and his colleagues into a very dangerous position. He should not be allowed a gun or to wear the Kings badge. He is clearly a wrong’un in the rotten barrel that is Greater Manchester Police who are out of control and have already lost the trust and confidence of the public

As well as your legal excellence you also seem to possess mastery of the art of rapid with and reparteeWhoops

To55pot ,……. Geoffrey Chaucer, William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens……… your language is taking one hell of a beating from Nobby!

I support the police using whatever action they feel a situation requires.  Afterwards there is plenty of video and bodycam footage and they always have to account for their actions.

Unlike you I do not support vigilante action.

I worked with a great guy from Pakistan. Top bloke and very smart.

He never went back home because his father left him a share of the family farm and he said his brothers would kill him for it.

I'm all for robust policing but the emphasis is on policing. Given the somewhat limited video we've seen so far then I can't condone the copper's action of kicking and stamping on the bloke's head (but I'm not entirely sure the video hasn't been edited). It's rather sad, as without the kick and stamp then we would be applauding the action of the police.

I do not condone what the copper did either however, I can  understand why he did it ie the thug/scum throwing ferocious punches at his colleagues esp the female copper; the copper and soldier fraternities look after one another in the heat of conflict.

I'd have done the same - maybe not in the capacity as a police officer - but probably as a good friend or colleague if faced with the same scenario. But, there was no excuse for what the thug/scum did to the police officers esp to the female copper.

The video thats appeared today shows enough to prove the guy got what was coming to him. You can debate whether the copper was a bit unprofesional but theres no way he deserves anything other than a token warning or short suspension. The thugs should be jailed of course. The solicitors behaviour also needs investigating by his professional body.
And most importantly the media should shut up about it now.

So simple, eh.

But copper has broken the law, we've all seen it.

Soldiers obviously look after each other but they know when someobdy has surrendered and respect that.

We've all seen the extenuating circumstances too

Not always though eg Iraq, where there had been atrocities committed post gunfight. And, it would not be the last either; emotions and conflict go hand-in-hand like fish-and-chips. It's far from ideal but that's what happens.
By:

If atrocities were committed in Iraq then they were, quite rightly, investigated.

And they are insufficient to justify kicking a restrained man in the head
and then stamping on his head.

He might have just got away with I thought he was getting up on the kick,
but that's rather gone for the stamp.

What about rest of group? Do they get a kick in head
and stamp too, or had the plod finally controlled himself.

Let us hope the vermin end up in jail. They are clearly very violent criminals, regardless of what happened afterwards.

Let's hope that the assault by police doesn't lead to guilty parties walking free.
By:

Why would it. It doesnt change what they have clearly done.
By:
----you-have-to-laugh---

Because they'll need to put plod on the stand, if there's a trial.

And he may already be an ex cop.

Far more likely it all gets sorted, quietly, and
justice isn't done.

Time will tell but the fact this has become such a big story makes me think thats unlikely especially since it would be the perfect result for the far right.

Highly unlikely unless someone starts a go fund me account for him and he becomes a millionaire.

This officer was in the middle of a vicious brawl. Multiple officers had been assaulted. All he needs to say is he didn't think the incident was over.

GMP officers are now declining to carry firearms. This only ends one way.

So the two brother use the same excuse. We thought the armed police were going to kill us!

You are deluded!

You are like the losers on Gammon Brexit News who are trying to make excuses for the thuggery and claim they are legal justification

Look at your posts Nobby. You sound like a deluded gammon. It is quite ironic

Maybe you should look at dusty’s expert legal analysis of Luis Rubiales position after kissing Jenni Hermoso

He didn’t have a clue on that either. He thought Rubiales did nothing wrong, would not lose his job and would not have to stand trial

Nobby

I only explaining different types of just. If someone dies or says something to your mother I believe you gave every right to seek justice. Then you may have to accept the consequences of the Law. They are two different things.

Most of you attempting to defend the thug cop seem to think retribution is allowed under law. It is not. You are making up excuses for a vicious thuggish assault and categorising them as a legal defence.

Let’s see what happens.

The thug cop imho will lose his firearms certificate because he was dangerously out of control, broke the law and put fellow officers at risk by his actions.

He may lose his job. He may not.

He may be prosecuted, he may not. If it went to trial it would only need a couple of Gammons to find him not guilty so I doubt he would be convicted. By the same token if the brothers go to court and plead not guilty and  use your “ legal defence “ they “ thought “ they were being assaulted they would only need a couple if sympathetic jurors to be found not guilty. Court may not provide justice fir any if the thugs involved.
