Oh how different it will be if labour does win the election. In the pocket of the politicians and advisers of gvnt, rather than doing anything in their power to undermine them.

That's bollocks. It's just your anti-Labour stance that wants that to be true.

More like, being a labour fan boy you're in denial. bbc has admitted changing the edit as labour goons asked them too.

It will be interesting to witness the pivot to be fair, as they have been spinning against the gvnt for so long. This of course goes for all legacy broadcast media.

Not true.

“Now inevitably, you can’t run all of an interview – you have to make cuts. But for transparency, I should say that the Labour team did after the interview raise concerns about that exchange.

“They essentially said they didn’t really see how you could make a comparison between a commitment Keir Starmer had given two years ago after the police announced they were going to investigate him and Angela Rayner’s position after the police said they would not investigate her.

(I don't know if you quotation marks are meant to show anything)

They essentially said they didn’t really see how you could make a comparison between a commitment Keir Starmer had given two years ago after the police announced they were going to investigate him and Angela Rayner’s position after the police said they would not investigate her.

That sounds entirely reasonable to me.

She has said she will resign if found to have broken the law
As did Starmer ,, therefore there was no reason for the BBC not to ask the question

Presumably you don't understand a timeline:

From Cider
Speaking live on Friday’s programme, he said the decision to cut the exchange was made for a “good editorial reason”. But he also admitted that Labour’s team had raised “concerns” after the interview that the “Beergate” comparison was unfair, as Ms Rayner was not under police investigation at the time.

I wonder what Doris said about not being found guilty until he was found guilty. And then what did he do?

Sir Kerr told the BBCs Sunday morning programme that
he did not need to wait for the report to conclude that
Mr Johnson broke the rules

“ The facts speak for themselves and the country has made up its mind, he said
adding it was blindingly obvious what’s happened “

“ I think he broke the law , I think he’s as good as admitted that he broke the law “

Sounds pretty bad from the Beeb. So you can't make a comparison between someone facing allegations and somone being investigated by the Police and if they do they will bin that part of the interview.

WhY not just make it clear to anyone watching that there isn't an investigation ongoing at the time and air the footage.

In fairness Rayner might want to wait and see the outcome of any police investigation
before commentating - which is often what happens  ,, there’s no need to say before
or especially during an ongoing investigation .  Could be a Scottish not proven verdict lol

Laugh

Such a great description of him and his impersonation of someone doing something to help the UK economy.

That would be a bonus then regardless of the outcome of the police's investigation.

In this case the self-respect and Labour Party come 1st to avoid being tarnished with the same brush as the Tories. Why prolong the whispering and unjustified/perceived accusation by opposition MPs, journos and joe public? It's so unnecessary, I believe.

I believe volunteering relevant info in anticipation or prior to an investigation can only minimise or eradicate any unnecessary accusation asap.

Shame there's a semblance of infantile behaviour on this forum. The adage "agree to disagree" and "respect in walking away" when the gulf between agree and disagree is not possible.

I hope the predicament of Ms Rayner is over very soon. The UK public is tired of this charade being played out in public.

Oddly enough, someone started a thread in that vein only last week

Escapee 12 Apr 24 16:38
The forum bickering, insults and snide remarks volume has been steadily increasing to the cacophony it is today.

Let's move on. Call a stop to it. If someone is behaving like an 4rsehole, pause, find away to respond
in a flowery language that de-escalates, pause again, maybe tone it down further.
Ultimately you know that someone firing insults has lost their argument, lost their face, Likely nothing they say further on the subject will make any sense.

Take a breath, step away from the fire.

Let's move on before it gets like the middle east.

Have a good weekend.

Anyone who bangs on about crime going unsolved should be livid with this case. 12 officers on a case where it has to be reported within 12 months or a fairly minor tax thing. Thats 12 officers that could be investigating a real crime/s.   It's already cost something like 20 times whatever crime may have been committed ffs, unlike tory donors tax 'efficiency'.
