No fans, just got doors windows blinds shut.

Opened windows upstairs at 10pm last night to let some heat out


It's 38 outside, in shade, and really hot in sun.

Same as me, just everything shut. Did open the patio this morning but the temperature just kept increasing so quickly shut them again. A very light cloud here, hardly noticeable but don't recall a breeze when I went out around 11.

I worked airside at Heathrow for 8 years. It is one of the biggest lumps of concrete in Europe and acts like a huge heatsink. Measuring the temperature there is pointless.

Was hotter in Greece last year when on holiday, but
not by much.

Did a 12 mile hike out there and struggled a bit, towards

not very nice footage of fires in London ...though I guess you wouldn't usually show it to be fair....

but certainly round here not had any rainfall of note for most of the last 2 months..so any grass, trees primed to catch I assume...

Got porch on front of house, blinds closed, and
it's 35 in there, post just arrived!

I jumped on the wagon a few years back but would gladly jump off for a swift shandy right now

fair play Asp' ...tried it for a while...just made be grumpier...very rarely get pi$$ed if ever these days but unit count doesn't make great reading...

I went to one of my old locals the other week
for a family meal, they were selling Neck oil on draught!

Used to be a boring Scottish and Newcastle pub selling
boring beers and lagers.

One GPU machine just went bang and gave up on me.

Might have to turn some off for the rest of the day.

That was short-lived, back up to 39. Forecasts did say it would continue to rise for a while longer. Indoors up to 29.7. Maybe it's the oncoming storm, which is predicted to be heavy. 31 predicted by 9pm though.

There must be better ways to spend a fine afternoon xmx

pretty shocking lack of common sense being shown as usual. The house fires in Wennington, Essex are atrocious but shirley could have been prevented. One day and the country is struggling. God help us when the riots start at the end of Summer!

I've just opened a cold tin of infinity pools IPA, very nice, 34 degrees in here but a lovely breeze outside now.
