NEW: Jeremy Hunt says on BBC that Esther McVey will be his Deputy Prime Minister if he wins the leadership election.

If Hunt is not lying about Esther McVay, then he has fallen before he even reaches the 1st hurdle !!!!

Now that Penny Mourdant has cleared up the 'what is a woman' question I think she should be favourite.

https://twitter.com/PennyMordaunt/status/1545908402475438080?cxt=HHwWgMC4jYzglfQqAAAA

1. Leaver
2. A Woman
3. Not tainted by recent events
4. Experience in cabinet.

Would like to know her tax policies and post Brexit plan though.

Rishi is a snake who stabbed Boris and questions about his tax and likes to tax the people. Cannot see him winning.

I completely agree, in fact I was just about to post along similar lines.

She wrote about a science based approach in one of those posts. This is the mealy mouthed 'approach', effectively dodging the issue, like measuring testosterone levels. No, artificially lowering testosterone levels doesn't make you a woman.

My observations were on the betting market rather than thinking she was going to be good for the country. I cannot have Sunak at the top of the market and she ticks a lot of boxes on paper.

I better be careful here but I basically agree again with Insider Frog Laugh  Sunak has a strong chance of reaching the last two and a much weaker chance of winning against any other candidate if he gets there.
By:

At the top of the market you got Sunak (snake), PM (leaver but potentially a Gates supporting globalist), Truss (remainer and seems not very intelligent), Tom Tugendhat (remainer and seems like a physco) and Hunt (out and out remainer, lockdown fanatic and messed up NHS)

Apparently Liz Truss promotional video has her head superimposed on to Eric Liddell as the GB team run up the beach at St Andrews in the opening scene of Chariots of Fire.

It's partly what I care about, and partly the market. We need someone prepared to defend the right things in the culture war, and doesn't take the path of least resistance. These are also questions that will repeatedly come up in the leadership campaign.

As I've always stated, politics is about the least worst. And Penny isn't the worst, far from it.

I recalled this interview from back in 2016, this is a positive.

If you are talking who is best for the party than who is going to win that is different.

Boris was your man for the Culture war but he gave up to the communists on netzero and lockdowns. Boris also failed to captalise on the benefits of leaving the EU.

Cannot see any of the top candidates sorting that out. We need to hear more on their post Brexit economic plan and their energy plan. Are they going to allow more fracking? More free ports and free trade? Are they going to get us out of the ECHR?

Wes streeting

Sajid Javid regularly attacked me and Labour for opposing the increase in National Insurance.

Now he’s on TV telling us that he opposes the rise in National Insurance, too.

The Conservatives are showing that they are unfit to govern.

It’s time for a fresh start with Labour.

But Liz Truss , because she has been very honourable throughout this last 3 years
is the best candidate imo

The culture war is a flag for true small c conservative values, frog. If they are on the right side of that, they will more likely correlate with the correct views on economic, fiscal and other social issues. There is a huge catchment of potential voters if they could only manage to ignore the noisy but minority few westminster bubble and twatter warriors.

It's good to see what lfc thinks as he's a typical
Tory party member, except he's not a member of
the tory party.

Trying to understand how a tory thinks is
difficult, so having such a brilliant example
is handy.

The proliferation of candidates to fill this office indicates how little coherence there is in establishing which Conservative is deemed fit to try to manage the job .  Every day now there are new contenders , case of every man and his dog .

The country electorate is no doubt taking cognisance of the fractured nature of Conservative thinking .  And at the back of it all probably is Brexit .

Ive yet to see a decent interview with a candidate.

I thought, free from spouting Johnson's lies they
would express some sort of vision or plan that
would last beyond the next question...
