Hi Daniel, no I don't feel she is, at those odds. She is still very much a contender but I feel that odds nearer to 10.0 would more accurately reflect her current chances.
Trump, who on earth knows? He is a walking lottery.

Poll: Without Trump in the race, DeSantis dominates 2024 GOP White House hopefuls

DeSantis definitely pulling ahead of the non-Trump candidates.

BTW, a very strong case could be made for DeSantis not running in 2024 and waiting until 2028. He has plenty of time on his side and may not wish to go up against the incumbent.

Some reasons why DeSantis may decide not to run for President in 2024...

1/ He is only 42, he has plenty of time on his side.
2/ If Biden runs, any GOP candidate is likely to be underdog.
3/ The GOP party is currently hopelessly split, divided parties don't win elections.
4/ DeSantis strength is in the South of the USA. He would likely win states such as Florida and Texas but the GOP already hold them. It would be really tough to win states in the North and Mid West.
5/ He would have at least a 50/50 shot against Harris in 2028, a fair chance he would be favourite in a post Trump USA.
6/ Trump may run in 2024, eliminating any other GOP candidates.

If Trump does run, he won't be shielded from difficult questions/grilling by the media as he was when President. He will simply be a candidate and the primaries will be tough viewing for any GOP strategist that wishes to bring along centrist moderate Republicans and above all, moderate independent voters who very often decide elections in key states. There is also a hard core chunk of the GOP electorate (around 20% or so) who say they will not support Trump under any circumstances.

New National Poll:Trump’s GOP Support Is Fragmenting

Post-election missteps are leading Trump’s core supporters to abandon him

Washington D.C. – A new nationwide survey by John Bolton Super PAC of voters reveals that a majority of Republican primary voters now agree “that a new Republican candidate – a fresh face – would be a stronger candidate to defeat Joe Biden in 2024.” That is a major shift since our first national poll taken in April where 50% of primary voters said Trump would be the strongest candidate to defeat Biden while 36% said another candidate would be stronger. That’s a shift of 17 points away from Trump and 16 points to a “fresh face” – a 33-point swing.

Specifically, Republican primary voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of the January 6 riot, sided with Pence over certifying electoral college voters, and are concerned over the recent Trump Organization indictments.

Looking down this page a little, you can see approval/disapproval ratings for past Presidents over their term, back to Truman. As polling has become more accurate over the years, Trump probably was busted years before election day.

Billionaire investor and former Donald Trump adviser Thomas Barrack has pleaded not guilty to charges of acting as an agent of a foreign government.

Mr Barrack, 74, was a key aide to Mr Trump during his 2016 campaign.

He has been accused of illegally lobbying on behalf of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during and after the election, as well as lying to the FBI.

Mr Barrack entered his not guilty plea during his first court appearance on Monday in New York City.

The ex-Trump official faces federal charges of conspiracy, obstruction of justice and making multiple false statements to the FBI during a 2019 interview. He was arrested in California last week.

As he left court on Monday, Mr Barrack told reporters: "As you'd expect, the system is working... you'll all see that I'm 100% innocent."

Mr Barrack's employee, Matthew Grimes, also faces illegal lobbying charges and pleaded not guilty on Monday. A UAE citizen, Rashid Sultan Rashid Al Malik Alshahhi, 43, was also charged and remains at large.

The three men are accused of unlawfully trying to promote UAE government interests by using Mr Barrack's connections to influence officials and media appearances.

They also allegedly promoted the candidacy of a UAE-favoured individual as US ambassador to Abu Dhabi.

Mr Barrack, who also served as Mr Trump's inaugural committee chairman, had been friends with the former president for four decades.

The wealthy investor is the latest ex-Trump aide to face criminal charges, like former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former Trump Organization lawyer Michael Cohen.

His next court appearance is 2 September.

Mr Barrack is currently free on a $250m (£180m) bond, but must wear an electronic GPS ankle bracelet, restrict his travel and follow a curfew.

(CNN)George P. Bush wanted Donald Trump's endorsement badly. Or, at a minimum, he wanted the former president to stay out of his primary challenge to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

To make that happen, George P. Bush kissed up to Trump in the most obsequious -- and embarrassing -- ways possible.
