I guess we can add Competing Slates Of Electors to the long list of things the market doesn’t understand. My fear is BF won’t understand either.

10 minutes until Biden wins the electoral college so naturally Trump continues to shorten in a market about the winner of the electoral college' 1.05 Biden to win Penn, the vote is certified and the electors have cast their vote, there is more chance of Shergar bursting out of the IRA's underground racetrack with Lord Lucan on his back and the pair go on to win next years Derby than is there is Trump winning the popular vote there, and yet. The big question is why were the rules for the election so vaguely written surely the ace US legals advising BF were consulted on the wording. The rules for Every market should be stringently written but for a market this big where it was long telegraphed that if the rag lost there would be challenges and they put the rules in their entirety in one sentence without the terms used in the wording being defined. Amateur stuff, at best amateur stuff. |

ace US legals
the average ace us legal has never gone near a course in logic/maths. a first year maths student would have seen through these rules. |

The “what does it mean suspended?” tweets from MAGAs are actually kind of sad. They can’t understand actual reality colliding with their little internet worlds.

It's a good point about the rules. I've seen them being very lax about them in loads of markets.
It's one thing in a daily horse race, but another thing completely in a 4 year (+ 1 month) election. |

Good point.

Still time for the inauguration market before a 2024 one. Presumably we'd get 22/23 on Trump again.
|
|
By:
the "defined" cut off date was always today given the reference to faithless electors
faithless electors and anything after them will not count we are now at that point and despite most of you disrespecting him, lfc was basically the only one on here that understood the logic of that |
|
By:
I placed a lay against Trump today for my entire bankroll at 30's which I thought was a great return. But that we would see 22 at the loser at the moment of suspension, is unbelievable. Normally always 1.01 for president elect.

lfc knows nothing, you are humiliating yourself.

I've asked on Twitter for the 2024 market to go up. Should be there by March, with luck.

how was he wrong?
![]() he said the moment the projected votes become actual, the markets will suspend seems pretty accurate to me |

Charlton what would betfair have done if there were 50 faithless electors voting for trump?
Their rules say that they wouldn't have affected the settlement. So how can today's activities have had any relevance. |
