They would do it via third parties pp, not directly. Net result is the same though.

There has also been speculation about a delayed election, but this is highly unlikely because voting is already underway.

Cannot be long odds Joe catching it Sad Who did they interact with at the debate

They were distanced on the stage but must be people off stage that contacted both Plain

GOP in a good position to replace Chump with a young healthy and charismatic politician. Not sure how they would be able to do it as ballots have already gone out so what happens to those who voted for Chump if he is removed from the ballot.

It is what it is!

Chemosabe seems to be suggesting that they are openly trading as part of the company. I was just wishing for him to explain how that works.

Trumps family/entourage were the only persons at the debate who refused to wear masks.

I'm under the impression that Betfair only settle the Boris exit date, etc. markets one he was admitted to hospital. It seems strange that the current US markets are suspended simply for a runner testing positive.

Possibly at some stage she may have.

winningthought, i think it was some time after bozo was reported to be in icu that there was a suspension, so even being in hospital was not enough to get that market suspended.

i think the trump entourage all took their masks off when he was practising before the debate.

The Trump family/entourage did not wear masks during the debate, despite being asked to do so.

Yes, and as has already been pointed out, a runner croaking it won't void the market. I have no open bets on either Trump or Biden yet but it could have been fun to possibly trade the volatility.

Oh marvellous what a shocker.... Plain

You can read it like a book can't you

We knew he'd get it but I thought it would earlier in the plandemic so as to cause panic then, but it does make logical sense to do it now because of the BS selection coming up, "chaos" the media bull s***ters already on it

Trump will self isolate for 14 days and that pretty much means he can't campaign

Trump loses the selection because he couldn't campaign, add in the ballot boxed, the postal voting scandal, the bull s*** infection etc etc and you've got a media love in for the next 6 months ffs

Basically Trumps base have been set up from day one, I was wrong about Trump when I thought he was one of them, changed my mind because of his whole handling of the virus itself, but looks like I was right the first time, its been a massive set up from the get go

Biden should not winning this "s"election ffs, nobody likes him but its a play so Trump could possibly get out with loads of excuses sad to say

Betfair's behaviour in these political markets is becoming untenable. It's supposed to be a betting exchange, but they also trade on their own exchange and the suspension of the Next President market is probably to protect Betfair traders' positions, not customers. The exchange should be completely independent of Betfair's trading arm. One/both of the candidates getting covid and/or pulling out was always a strong possibility, and my bets on the market factored that in.

It's outrageous really.

Basically they had inside knowledge of when it was going to break then

We all knew he'd test positive, people are so dumbed down nowadays they have to really go to obvious town with the predictive programming. Him and Johnson were going round with no masks on and shaking peoples hands, even said it in their press conferences

"the world is a stage and we're the observers"

hang on, all specials/politics markets are fundamentally different to sports events where events are visible and start and end at predesignated times.  Can't see how anyone can whinge that someone else has inside info on a politics market when the actual whinge is that someone else had BETTER inside info.  Don't like it, don't play.

Just stating that some must have had inside knowledge of when it was going to break, I don't mind being stung in these markets because its a risk as you say

Yes, there was massive volatility and Raab traded shorter and shorter as Boris got sicker. I did quite a lot of trading on the basis of the market overestimating the risk of him dying (yes, I know I’m a bad man). I don’t think they suspended until he’d been in hospital a while and possibly not until he went to critical care. Of course, Johnson is a lot younger than Trump so a priori a much lower risk for serious or fatal disease. Possible they’ve learned from that episode and decided to pull the market the moment they found out though. I’m sure they must have discussed in advance for this one.

Trump ain't going to die though

They don't ever produce anything entertaining nowadays, it wont be in the script for him to die

He'll self isolate with no cough, no fever, nothing wrong with him infection

I don't see any major moves in any size in the markets anyway. OK, Pence the big one ~900s into 34, but Trump was only 2.6 out to 3s on light trading. A hold of serve or a 4 ball move a market more on a daily basis.

Said I agree, caveat emptor. Main reason to suspend is PR, I think, although argument could be made for inside information being so valuable in this context that suspension does have some logic. Don’t see it for states markets but guess they’ve gone blanket.

He's 1.05 to survive on the age/sex/obese thing so you're probably correct.  When that happens it wont prove this all was scripted though Laugh

He's 6.2 by the way, not 6.3  just saying.  I'd also be a buyer if someone offered me 242-246 on his weight.  That fat tw4t is nearer 280 than 240.

What I'm saying, it doesn't look like BF traded on any inside info to me. The industry would have realised there was something up with a flurry of bets of Pence, and they lay diddly squat anyway at those prices.

trump apparently showing mild symptoms meaning he was likely infected a week ago - so when was he last tested? It also means he has likely spread the virus to many others.

Well exactly, doesn't look like insider trading to me. A few lucky pups got a nice price on Pence and most will be able to profit even if Trump is fine.
