Alexei Navalny: Trump refuses to condemn Russia over poisoning President Donald Trump has refused to condemn Russia over the poisoning of opposition figure Alexei Navalny, saying he had not seen proof. He said the case was "tragic" but urged reporters to focus instead on China, which he said was a bigger threat to the world than Russia. Nato and Germany say there is "proof beyond doubt" that Mr Navalny was attacked with a Novichok nerve agent. His team says he was poisoned on the Kremlin's orders. Russia denies this. Mr Navalny - an anti-corruption campaigner who has long been the most prominent face of opposition to President Vladimir Putin in Russia - is in a coma in a Berlin hospital having been airlifted there from Siberia, where he fell ill. What did Trump say? Speaking at a press event on Friday, he said he had yet to see evidence of poisoning in the case. "So I don't know exactly what happened. I think it's tragic, it's terrible, it shouldn't happen. We haven't had any proof yet but I will take a look," he said. He also stopped short of criticising Mr Putin and said Beijing posed a greater threat. "It is interesting that everybody's always mentioning Russia and I don't mind you mentioning Russia but I think probably China at this point is a nation that you should be talking about much more so," he said. |

Anybody found that plane of thugs yet? -Biden
"It's mortifying, it's embarrassing and it's dangerous," Biden said. In a Fox News interview late on Monday (Aug. 31), Trump said an investigation was under way into alleged “thugs” who boarded a plane seeking to cause damage last week during the Republican Party convention, without providing details or evidence. Asked for details by Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump said: "I'll tell you sometime, but it's under investigation right now." On Tuesday, Trump told reporters that it was something told to him by an individual on the flight. Trump would not identify the person. Asked to comment, White House spokeswoman Sarah Matthews did not address Trump's specific assertions but said he was referring to an investigation into possible financial backers of "organized riots." The president, seeking re-election on a promise to restore "law and order," told Fox News the plane was "completely loaded with thugs wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms with gear and this and that," adding, "Here were like seven people on the plane like this person and then a lot of people were on the plane to do big damage." ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have no idea why anybody of sane mind would support Trump. But then again there's probably not anyone of sane mind on here who is supporting him.

Four sources told the magazine he had rejected the idea of visiting because the rain would dishevel his hair, and he did not believe it important to honour America's war dead.
During the same trip, the president also allegedly referred to 1,800 US soldiers who died at Belleau Wood as "suckers". The battle helped to prevent a German advance on Paris during World War One and is venerated by the US Marine Corps. The Atlantic's reporting was based on anonymous sources but a "senior Defense Department official with first-hand knowledge of events" and a "senior U.S. Marine Corps officer who was told about Trump's comments" confirmed the cemetery comments to AP. |

There are too many Americans who realise trump is a incompetent bungler who places US servicemen at risk and though they have kept quiet for most of the presidency, they will be speaking out as the election approaches.

So not off a teleprompter at all. You think he’s using a teleprompter in an interview?
Seen it, debunked it, at length. You understand conditionals, right? When he talks about the police being the enemy, it’s in the context of them coming into communities in military vehicles. He’s pointing out, correctly, that’s the wrong way to do policing. The redirection thing (not the same as defunding at all) is in the same context. It’s the same interview he repeatedly says that he doesn’t want to defund the police when he’s pressed, by a guy who supports defunding the police and expressed his disappointment both at the time and afterwards that Biden doesn’t agree. That interview? |

All over Twitter?
WTAF, man? WTAF? Twitter polls? Twitter right wing bots? Twitter amplification? I use Twitter and it’s good for some things but it’s an obviously terrible way of gauging support for politicians. If I believed what I heard on Twitter, Corbyn won in 2017 and was winning in 2019, for one example. I sort of get not trusting the polls or MSM (I don’t agree but there’s a case by case debate to be had) but then have the courage of your convictions and say that you can’t be confident of anything. |

Back in the real world on twitter...!

Redirection and defunding is just semantics
He shouldn't be calling the police the enemy under any circumstance, even if they are in an armoured humvee Trump gave them all that army gear to help defensively, not offensively When you see the scumball street urchins causing mayhem, it is vindicated |

Probably astroturfing. Twitter is v good for that. I mean obviously there are a lot of black and Latino Trump voters in total but proportionately they’re small. Anyway, I asked for evidence that the numbers are building. That’s not really even grade C evidence.

So on the one hand we have the big bad MSM who are not to be trusted but on the other we have social media who are. Do you have to take a polygraph before you post on fb and twatter? Thank god that there aren't fake accounts on them.

President Trump's support among black voters rose 9 percentage points amid the Republican National Convention, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
Twenty-four percent of registered black voters in the Aug. 22-25 survey, which included the first two days of the convention, said they approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 76 percent said they disapprove. That is up 9 points from the previous survey conducted Aug. 8-11, where the President received 15 percent support among this group. The survey found support among Hispanic voters also grew by 2 percentage points, from 30 percent in the last poll to 32 percent in this most recent survey. https://thehill.com/hilltv/what-americas-thinking/514174-poll-trump-approval-rises-among-black-hispanic-voters |

Biden is repeatedly quoted as saying he wants to increase police funding (unlike Trump, who has budget plans to reduce it) and that he will not defund.
This is the interview with Barkan. It’s not full - some minor editing, see below. https://uncovered.beaherofund.com/ This is what was done to fake that Biden is in favour of defunding the police. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/aug/31/steve-scalise/house-republicans-video-manipulates-activists-comp/ Note that Barkan wants to defund and Biden doesn’t and is quoted as saying he doesn’t. I mean, this could have been faked but not easily and this version is agreed by Barkan. But then the debates, all interviews and speeches could be faked. That’s possible but just not plausible. Particularly if you also think that Twitter is reliable. If you think that it’s a good idea to police in armoured vehicles rather than through community engagement, we can agree to disagree. |
