suppose it depends on how well they play also..1.5 v saints or the packers on a neutral ground.dont see it.

them 2 just an example...god know who will make it

I'm too deep on a pats lay to go more. Will be a good 2011 if the saints/ravens or colts win. The rest are neutral and big red on the pats!

You will get bigger than 2/1 d13phe..they will get in trouble in one of their games...they may still come thru but i dont see it being plain sailing one bit.

perm any 2 from 12 harry 2 make the superbowl, cant understand y people are automaticaly giving the AFC 2 the pats.

Wouldn't say the Patriots task got harder after last night

With Colts getting the 3rd seed it now means that the Patriots only have to beat one of Colts or Steelers as they are both definitely in the other half of the AFC draw.

Patriots can now only face Jets/Chiefs/Ravens in Divisional round

dont the pats now have to play ravens then prob steelers to make the bowl?
By:

rather than jets/kansas then pitts if it went to plan
By:

Average lay 4.4

Yeah they probably have to play Ravens and then Steeler/Colts

It could have been Colts then Steelers (assuming Colts had gotten 4th seed) which is arguably tougher (but it's much of a muchness in fairness)

1.5 is too short for AFC Championship game whether they play Colts or Steelers anyway and they certainly won't be 1.3 if Packers/Saints/Eagles come through from NFC

3.1 is a little too short for me but they are still the team to beat
By:
HARRY22
When: 03 Jan 11 16:12
anyway u look at it ravens should beat kansas...jets at home is easier than the ravens at home as the jets imo will be beat before they go into foxboro after that last game they played.....yet again people naming nfc teams and not mentioning atlanta.they may of beat the saints if turner didnt fumble on the 1

and Chicago Harry. They impressed me last night.

I'm talking more about the line if Eagles/Packers/Saints against Patriots as opposed to whether Falcons or Bears are good value or not. If Falcons & Bears get to SB against Patriots then Pats will be 1.3 or lower, rightly or wrongly.
By:
HARRY22
When: 03 Jan 11 16:22
well yeah...but the jets and pats drove on the bears easily...packers didnt so why isnt anyone saying the packers are useless as they were with atlanta...imo they both had an off night on offence, it happens.

AFC winner pats 1.81 steelers 4.0 ravens 7.4 colts 10.0 jets 11.0 chiefs 18.0 value ???

how did chicago impress you last night d13phe? Ok defensively they were good , which was known before last night, offense they were horrible.  Cutler is an absolute nightmare, how he is a starting quaterback amazes me but hey thats just what I think

Colts best price for me now for the SB, simply a very hard team to beat...Manning had a shot at Eagles and at Pats but throw pick on last drive...D playing much better, running game back to normal Colts run game..effective...Run D amazing last three games against three of the best run O!...Manning should outscore Jets and Steelers imho and as always expect a close one vs Pats..

Shocked
Cutler done ok, hate him but played well this season...Packers D by far the best in the league...pass rush awesome, hard to run up the middle against and best secondary...few QB looks good against them
By:

Dont see colts winning in pittsburgh.

credit to packers D dlarssonf.....chicago have put up around 70pts in last few games so they can score.

Dlarssonf

I just thought that they did really well to restrict. High powered offense in green bay like they did was impressive.

They will be more formidable at home and fresh.

The packers would be a shoe in if they could run buy they can't and it could cost them
By:

yeah fair enough, totally agree with re packers defence, put I thought Cutler was very poor even still. His decision making is shocking, threw that pick yesterday instead of taking a sack which is crazy. I know it meant nothing in context of the bigger picture yesterday, but he would do the same thing in the playoffs.

am i right in thinking if packers going to win superbowl they will have to come through

Eagles AWAY
Falcons AWAY
Saints/Bears AWAY

then face either Patriots or Steelers

c'mon lets face it, Packers stand little chance coming through 2 of those let alone 4 on the trot

^ would make the 16s a lay then surely, they would be odds against in all three NFC games, and even more of a dog in the Superbowl.

Has this market gone officially nuts?

Patriots at 2/1???? That is at least .25 too short.

Pittsburgh have come in from 9.4 at 6 PM last night, to 8.2 at Midnight to 7.2. I thought the 8.2 was generous.

Philly are out to 15. I'm no Vick fan but the extent of this drift is way too much.

My feelings on Chicago's and Green Bay's prices are well known.

The greatest absurdity for mine however are Indy and Seattle who both qualified for the Post Season last night, but are now HIGHER than pre qualification. What???
By:

When: 03 Jan 11 19:01
Seattle are not higher

They were around 250+ last night before the game against the Rams

Also Colts were roughly 23-24 before their game against Titans
By:

I think the colts are that high because of the way they have played.

They will always be a threat with manning and know how to win playoff games.

Not sure their D is good enough though
By:
db1974
When: 03 Jan 11 19:05
Sorry - didn't realise that the Seahawks had drifted so much from earlier - I backed them at 140 and thought that was a decent enough price for a team, with their playoff game at home

Colts are roughly the same price
By:

REALMOANER...pats shortened and they have a harder run now imo with the ravens being the likely opponent...plus they wont cruise thru their 2 home games so they are bound to be bigger than 2s for me

im not sure the colts will beat the jets

One thing you can be sure of, there will be shocks in the play offs, of the 11 games left I'm guessing there will be 3 or more favs beaten.
One of the more obvious ones is the Colts to lose next week as the Jets are the upset kings, frustratingly inconsistent but on their day very good, next best 'upset' would be Packers to win in Philly IMO

I have said it previously but the chiefs at home is no easy game despite what hapened at the weekend. You would think that the ravens would have too much but they need to play well to win as the chiefs don't give you a lot.

And Ravens -2.5 is the line.
I just think our inexperience will undo us against a Ravens team who have seen it done it time and time again
By:

Ravens are probably the least value out of the lot imo

1.7 KC
probably 3 @ NE or PIT (odds on to be @ NE so could be higher than 3s)
then probably @ NE or PIT - outside chance of home game vs Jets. Probably 2.8 isnt too far off
SB - 1.7ish

Thats about 24s imo. And if anything I think I have been pretty short on their matchup chances
By:
Umbo Mangoman

I have just laid them at 18s for £350

I dont think they will go into 10s which their current match odds market would suggest.

I think that's brave - I don't like getting against any streetwise team who are experienced in post season football.
Of course getting in as the #5 or #6 seeds means you have to do it the hard way but Steelers did it and Buccs may even have done it a few years beforehand.
Pats imploded to Ravens in wildcard game last year at Foxboro, didn't Ravens put 21 points up in the 1st quarter ? I'm not saying Ravens will be favs to do it again but I'd say they have as much chance as anyone in AFC
By:
d13phe
When: 03 Jan 11 23:54
Yeah I agree.

The ravens are fancied this year as well so that's why they are shorter. Aren't you better opposing them in single matches?
By:

I have edged it by backing them against KC.

I would be surprised if instead of putting £50 on the ravens at 18s for SB. Keep putting that stake and winnings on BAL individual matches. I would say you would make more this way. With pinny ;-) so you dont pay 5% each time you win :-)

do you think they will be much bigger than 1.5 in both conference games
assuming they win their 1st game?
if they come through both games the betting public will be all over them
in the superbowl (Pats/Belichick/Brady factors)driving their price down to sub 1.5
IMO
then again what do i know

they've  started already 2.94 on here 15/8 7/4 in places in the shops[smiley:crazy]
