First period Analysis:-

Sharks have the edge but good chances for Caps also.  Both Goalies playing great.

Devils definitely have the edge, unlucky not to be leading but as ever with this game may rue their missed chances.

All to play for in all 4 early games.

Second Period Analysis:

Lack of goals certainly not spoiling the enjoyment:-

Even period for me with more great scoring chances for both sides.  Looked at the shot total and looks like sharks dominated but thought in terms of scoring opportunities it was a lot closer than that,  More great keeping and kicking myself for not doing the unders now (even at 8/11).  Cant beleive there will not be goals in the 3rd with bit of tiredness setting in.  Coin toss for me now (which is not great when you have backed a side at sub 1.90Plain)

Devils went behind against the run of play (on powerplay) but deservidely levelled shortly after.  After that Hurricanes came into the game for the first time in the match and the shot look like Carolina are the dominant team.  Not from where I am watching.  Still thinks Devils will win this in the 3rd with the likely evening up of the powerplays (Devils not had one yet).

Good luck all.

Great pressure from sharks, looking a real strong outfit with Niemi on fire.  Neuvith equally brilliant tonigh but not sure caps can hold out.

Devils two shots have rattled the post in the 3rd already.

Seen enough in Washington, traded out for a slight loss.  Need Devils to come through for a slight lwin on the evening

2-1 Hurricans (another powerplay goal).  Surely Devils will get one PP chance tonight?

Totally deserved sharks goal. Played great tonight, reminds me of their recent S/O win in Vancouver.

Well my 2 current strategies clashed tonight with the game in Washington and as I was uncomfortable playing both i've not backed Sharks tonight but plumped for the Caps unders strategy instead.

On reflection i'm ceasing the Sharks investments now after earning points from each of their last 9 games , was lucky enough to hit the start of the streak after the abysmal showing against Oilers and my hunch the return of Pavelski from injury would resurrect their season proved a wise one , one golden rule i've stuck with for over 4 years now and that's to keep any streak strategy to a maximum of 10 games due to the fact form can't be permanent and 10 games is plenty long enough to expect , Sharks are on a 9 gamer now and I don't see the point of putting myself through the game tomorrow especially after such great back to back displays at Boston and Washington.

The Caps unders strategy is different though and involves a change in playing strategy that won't change rather than anything directly form related , take the earlier point about only 1.80 available tonight but that's only comparing it to recent games and you have to take into account the opposition as well , will be staying aboard this gravy train with varying stakes depending on the opposition after an unbelievably hot streak over the last few months.

Devils get the job done in the end swardean  Happy

Don't seem to be able to see them for some reason at the moment....

Are Minnesota and Calgary too obvious tonight?
Chicago look a desperate price to win in 60 minutes - no thanks.
Anaheim may just be the value in the late late show.....

Good luck and chat later

I like the ml odds on Columbus. San Jose are obviously hot right now but Columbus don't look like they've given up on the season and they really need to win this game. Also, for what it's worth, San Jose have yet to win 5 in a row this season and Columbus are, I think, 7-3-0 when playing on the second night of back to back games.

Could really do with Minnesota trying to keep bodies on the ice rather than in the box.

Don't think you'll be beating yourself up too much about the Sharks tonight HAYDEN?
By:

When: 10 Feb 11 04:16
No mate not at all and they were 0-2 at one stage , just thought after 2 fantastic wins on the road it was worth bailing out after 9 , mind you the shambolic Av's streak is picking up nicely but I only got involved opposing them since the loss in Anaheim so may go against them twice more and stop at a 5 streak.

Saw they had been 2 down - was probably smart leaving even though they won.  I say this a lot, but its better to get it wrong for the right reason than right for the wrong reason.  In the long run you'll then make it pay if you know what you're about Mischief

Logging off, but tonight is on course to be a good one.  Shame about Oilers, though they're getting no breaks from the officials.  Teams do tend to get kicked when they're down though.  Minnesota keep winning - but so do the other feckers around them Laugh Will end up an almighty dogfight in last few matches with some really dispondant people on the outside looking in.

Goodnight

Aaarrghh!!! I can't resist.

Despite the Kings streak I just can't leave Penguins at odds against at home.  Even with the big names out thru injury and suspensions I expect the defence men to come up strong.  I think they will edge a low scoring one.

I know it is a classic suckers bet that is tempting the casual punter who may not be up to speed with recent evens but hopefull this is one mug bet that goes in.  Good luck with your bets.

Good luck Swardean - Pens may well have their eye on easier pickings the following evening....maybe the reason for the price?

Not a game that appeals as a betting medium to me, but somebody will win

Its a sickener for me that all games start early - don't finish at 'work' until 7am, the only time the West Coast late starts are useful is when I'm on nights Plain

Not much better in Pittsburgh Drew, Kings better side so far.  Pens got lead on a nicely worked break away goal but Kings have had good chances that have been thwarted by PEns defence.  Deservedly levelled (albeit offside).  Once again tempted to trade out for slight loss but just opened a rather nice Sancerre so a couple of periods left in me yet!

Sancerre - you lucky devil.  Anything from the Loire is good - especially when working from home Mischief

Pouilly Fume tomorrow night sir?  Or will we be trying a Muscadet?  Very refined, good man!

A night for unders all around by the looks.....
By:
Swardean
When: 11 Feb 11 01:41
Love my wine Drew and a nice Pouilly Fume near the top of may list.  Acca on unders looking good and from my perspective a change in momentum 11-2 pens outshot kings in 2nd period, however of those none I would call clear scoring chances, so all to play for in the 3rd.

Since to see Leafs winning and hope they can hang on.

Staring to run dry.  Need to check the cellar now, not a big red man but like an odd Barolo.
By:
drewboy
When: 11 Feb 11 02:01
I stocked up just before Xmas when Tesco were doing their Barolo for £8 instead of £20 and Sancerre half price at £7.  You can't buy a bottle of Sancerre for that in France!  This week on nights is the one week in 5 when I abstain and let the body rick itself round again.  Asda doing a great St Emillion for £6 atm, but if you're not into red it won't interest you!

Turning into a poor night.  I backed NJ to win first period and over 5.5 in Toronto.  The overs bet was my only serious attempt tonight.  To make matters worse, I've a mug acca on Habs/Sabres/Flyers (all ML), Pens with draw no bet and OVERS in Toronto.  Its looking like the one that will let me down.

C'est la vie.  I saw your post on the racing forum.  I'm very keen on the chances of Rolecarr in the 3.0 at same meeting.  Better be careful talking horses on here though as HAYDEN may rap my knuckles Laugh

Afternoon guys

No bet for me last night and just flaked out on the settee watching Pens scrape a hard fought win , I need a good kicking though for not laying Habs after that bizarre game in Boston the night before and that's one that got away.

Never a problem talking horses guys and wasn't sure you followed the sport on a daily basis tbh , just for the record I auto trade flat racing but have a passion for jump racing so manually play but all bets have to have a mathematical edge so never use form books , tennis the only other sporting interest for me and I play systematically but I know that's not your thing anyway.

Great schedule tonight and speak later  Happy
