Good morning, a couple of single selections to add to the days proceedings, both up at Thirsk.

I keep the faith with Wildcat Wizard in the 2.55 and from last years notebook Singeur bids to win the same race he won first time out last year in the 4.05.

Good evening,feeling a little hard done to with Bidgefield for a place and Very Good day suffering the N/R in a 16 runner field in recent days. Both go in the notebook though as they both challenged down the far rail side and did well all things considered.Luck usually evens itself out in the long run !

Waffle got the place on the Wednesday and stablemate Bertiewhittle
who ran in the Newmarket race looks one to be onside with tommorow.
Good progressive form last year and looks likely to carry on this year.

Lutine Bell has the form to go close as well and Richard Hughes is an eyecatching booking FTO and feel the race could be run to suit.

Edge Closer has his first start for a new stable this season and his mark gives him a real chance if able to recapture his best form.

Good morning.
Two picks that came up last year and both look to have been given a chance by the handicapper today.

Waldvogel was a pick last year when just failing to catch Awsaal here at the C/D off 90. He recently ran a good 2nd in a charity race at Aintree over 13f and looks overpriced to me. he should be staying on when others have had enough.

Very Good Day was of interest last year but did look a difficult ride at times. He returned with a fair 3rd first time out over further and he to has been given a chance this year off 83.

In a quite open race and with 8/10 of previous winners being 5 or older I shall stick with these two at decent prices.

A few non runners here and a feeling that the race may be a tactical affair.
Bridgefield looks a huge price to me considering he has some smart pieces of form over 8f. His 2nd to City Style reads very well and he had Fury behind him when winning at Newmarket last year in a small field.His last run was a middle position over 7f but that trip has looked a bit short for him in the past. Back at 8f I feel he could get the run of the race here sat just off the pace and hopefully can hold off the closers. That's the plan in my head anyway. The stable have a 25% strike rate here (6/24) and jockey/stable 27% but overall I feel Bridgefield has the form to go close here at a big price. He's running off a break but has ran well off one before so not a negative. The last three winners were all rated in the 100's so hopefully Bridgefield can be another.

Good morning.

A case can be made for quite a few here but at the prices I'm going for Waffle and Barnet Fair.

Waffle looks to be coming to hand after two runs and should be close to peak fitness now.
He finished 9th at Newmarket last time behind stablemate Colonel Mak in 3rd but is the stable rep today. He has enough good runs in the past to give him a good chance off 100 today and feel he can run a big race at the odds.

Barnet Fair is making his reappearance but the last three 4yr old winners of this race did likewise. He had some good form at this level last year and could be better at 4. Off a mark of 90 there's scope for improvement and the booking of Mr De Sousa is a positive one.

The weekend selections didn't fare to well although Lui Rei ran a creditable 3rd after the non runner took the race down to 7 :( after falling out of the stalls !
Pintura didn't do what he has in the past so the jury's out on that one.

Early days and a sense of deja vu as Wildcat Wizard at 33/1 has taken the eye again. He ran in the race last year after finishing last on his previous run at Doncaster and a similar pattern is emerging this year where he managed to finish in the same position again !
He was a creditable 6th here last year off 91 not beaten far at all
and tries again off 88 tomorrow with a 3lb claim to help even more.
The ground is an unknown but there looks to be some potential for it.He has the form to win but is definately not straightforward.
But at 33/1 I feel he is well worth a go and although the stable have four entered he is the one I like.

The second pick to go along with Pintura is THE TICHBORNE who hasn't shown much to date but has a notable 3rd at Ascot last year on g/s ground.Perhaps he needs today's conditions to show his best and I shall take a chance he does. He usually races prominently which may be no bad thing on the ground and if he could replicate the Ascot run could go close.

I'll probably be going double handed in the race but the one that caught my eye at a huge price (28/1, now 25's) was Pintura who was 2nd in the race last year. He's had two runs this year and should be match fit now and Mr Spencer is booked who is 1240 on him.
His new mark of 95 gives him a decent chance I feel and the ground looks in his favour.
Stamina should be a must I would think with the conditions so the fact he has form over further augurs well.
From 8f to 10f on g/s or worse Pintura's figures read 2133133123 ! and over 8f 2123. He hasn't got any secrets but runs very well in the grade and looks hugely overpriced given the conditions.Lots of big field class 2 form and he looks to have a good draw next to where the pace looks likely to come from in stall 10.
