I'll watch the whole card again when I get home, and another too keep on the MMA flash drive.

She's made plenty of dough where she is, but that would have been crazy money for an MMA fight.

Women's MMA is where it is because of Rousey. She was undefeated while they built women's MMA.

Nunes had losses, and became who she is, through smashing everyone.

Sometimes people just have bad nights, and I'm hoping it will be near a flip for the rematch, and I'll have as much on her, as I had on Dustin v Conor the first time.

She also had the rona, didn't she. Some people take longer to recover than others.

Look at the state of Khamzat. He couldn't even train for ages, and Dana flew him out to see the UFC doctors to try and get things sorted.

That Pena fight was insane. Super happy for her, but never given any indication she had that performance in her!See that Kayla in the crowd seeing her 8 figure payday go up in smoke, as Nunes got choked out, lol.

Seriously gotta question how hard Nunes trained for the fight. She gassed so quickly, no tank for whatever reason

She has had tank problems previously, but had fixed them since moving to ATT.

She's had a crazy year, and a new kid along with a bout of the 'vid, could be 2 of many factors that lead to that.

I prefer to give Julianna more credit, though. She dogged it out, and I think it shocked Nunes that she was still in front of her, and then when she got hit back, went all out, but couldn't stop her.

Can't remember which fighter said 'If you try to win by KO, you'll never win a decision', and that was proved right again.

As for Charlie against Justin, I've got to take Charlie, as I rate Dustin higher than I do Justin, even though I love him as a fighter.

Also when do you think we'll get Olives v Gaethje? May? I'm leaning towards Charlie too. His ground game is just too good

Not sure, I know Charles said he wanted to go home for holidays etc.

Imagine it will be Easter, or somewhere near there.

Was gutted Lewis was at APEX this weekend. I looked into tickets, but there are only ~70 available to the public after Dana does his handouts to mates etc.

You can only buy packages and the min was over a grand, lol.

Have to make do with Beatles Cirque this week, and Maroon Five next weekend.

huge fight this weekend, gane surprisingly a medium fav now, thought nganou would get more casual love. maybe this week he'l get beta  bit more. gane should be better almost everywhere minus power but hard to bet much against nganou with his x factor. maybe gane moneyline or decision hedged with nganou KO.
I'm much more interested betting moreno > fig in the co-main. odds still have some value at 1.6 or so i think. I thought it would be more like 1.4-1.45 given the outcome of the rematch. will have to re-watch and listen to interviews before I'm ready to commit to my bets

since Ngannou has been champion it seems the relationship between him and UFC has been totally fractured. I find it really strange because Ngannou could have been a huge star for them, but they seem more interested in trying to get him beat

Think Dana doesn't get on with his manager, rather than Francis, per se. Shocker Laugh

Dana wanted him out right away, but think Francis had some issue and wanted another month to get ready. That was when they did the interim, which pissed him off and there was a bit of agg.

Also wants paid, for which you can't blame him, and no doubt he will be if he wins saturday.

I've got no idea what will happen Saturday, but I had to back Francis at odds against. Nothing mental, just enough to pay for my hotel for the O2 event next month.

Think Moreno will win again, but just going to enjoy the fight. Sometimes people just have your number, and I think that will be the case there.

I think Gane will win and Francis will go boxing or to the WWF. I think he's too old for this MMA lark at 40+. Silly Anyway, there's very little hype around this card. These four lads are not very good at promoting themselves or their fights.

I think you should put the meds down.

It's Ngannou fighting, not Luis Ortiz Crazy

agree that UFC have promoted Francis very poorly in the last 6 months
By:

Do you think Francis was being awkward asking for more money so they just went ahead and did the interim instead. they hate being dictated to, infact they won't be dictated to
By:
TimmyRiggins
When: 23 Jan 22 03:11
They've had no inclination to promote him, when he's made it clear he's going to fight his contract out.

If he loses, they can go to work on Gane, and if he wins, he has another fight anyway as the champion.

Then they have to pay him, as he's an even bigger deal than he is now.

Dana is a gambling man, so seems like they've been quite smart, imo.

He wanted to fight in September, if I recall correctly. They wanted the fight in August, and when he said he wouldn't be ready, they just did the interim.

good insight TR. Dana definitely likes the ones who will do things on his terms. If they're too demanding/difficult, he'll make life even as champion difficult for you

Dana must be fuming. left Mick to put the belt on Francis. well, Mick was dressed in a suit so probably pre-planned incase Francis won. weird the relationship between Dana and Ngannou

I thought it was a supersized Usman for the last 3 rounds. We knew he had developed  the last fight, as when he stuffed Stipe and then span on his back I almost fell off my chair. Those slams, and him turning into an 18stone Kamaru, I didn't expect.

I'd probably back Gane in a few years once he has had some time to develop more.

That said, I'm not sure what TDD you can have for that Cry

Dana going to have to get his chequebook out for Stipe v Francis 3, I would think.

Dana said he had dinner with him a short while back, in one of his press bits. First time he's had a chance to speak to him properly. Which means without the manager there.

Dana has always been the same, and that's why the business is what it is. Frustrating at times, but we wouldn't get the great fights so often if he wasn't.

Cards I've seen since UFC 200, I've just about forgiven him for making me pay a grand to watch Cormier lay on Anderson for 3 rounds, and Brock do the same to Mark Hunt, lol.

Booked it to see Conor v Diaz II, and when Conor tried bigtiming it to skip media he threw him off the card!

Was not expecting that from Francis. Surprised  The Usman influence was definitely apparent. Tiuvasa v Lewis should be entertaining. Happy

Evolution of a fighter Francis Nurmagomedov Grin

Co-main was superb, again. Could watch those two fight every card!

That will be good, for sure. Tuivasa got a great reception at 269, and got some good vids of him doing shoebombs with the crowd etc.

Best walkout/walkoff music ever, too Laugh

There is a Cage Warriors card on the Friday, but I'm not hitting the road until Chelts finishes on the Friday.

Good night for the Brits.  Hooker and Volkov didn't show up though. Woeful efforts from both.
By:

When: 20 Mar 22 19:42
He will, when he fights a top 5 or even 10, depending on who it is.

Hooker and Volkov did show up, but the 2 A's are the real deal.

Was my mate's first card, and he didn't know who Allen was, so thought I was winding him up when I told him I thought he'd beat Hooker.

Great card, and a crafty bonus payout from Dana, giving anyone that didn't go to decision 50k.

No, I said he was woeful....which he was. Let's see how Arnie does against a real contender before bigging him up.
