was surprised a doctor didn't check pena at some point, the way she was walking out of the arena was rough to watch, she was already having a hard time with the bright lights they were shining on her as she exited, she will of been locked in a dark room for a few days after that, probably pretty bad concussion
By:
The Doctors are always there checking between rounds, even if you don't see it on the broadcast. It's usually only shown if they are looking to stop the fight for injuries etc.
They were both **** walking out, and Nunes was on crutches at the presser. Not many tougher, that's for sure. |
By:
they didn't take a close look though in between rounds from what I saw, the cuts alone prob worth checking as they were in the hair and hard to see how bad they are
By:
We don't always see it from the TV, that's what I mean.
They always are in there between rounds, though. |

Good card at the weekend. Can't remember there being a card where no fights went the distance.
Hill is good, but he might not want to get hit quite as much if he has title aspirations. We knew he could bang, and now we know he has a good chin, too. |

Chito Vera made me a gorgeous profit by stopping old/slow man Cruz with the headkick. I knew it was a very tough ask to make Dom fight 5 rounds at a pace, and that a stoppage loss was pretty likely. thank you Chito!

Nice one, I was either Dom decision or Chito stoppage, and ended up not betting.
Well, other than with a mate, where I let him pick who he wants, and I take the other fighter for a meal when we're in Vegas. Was a really good card, and definitely worth staying up for. Thought Cruz looked as good as ever, which is surprising, given how long he has been around now. If Aldo loses to Dvalishvili, I wonder if they'll throw them together as a throwback WEC banger. Could be a main card fight on a PPV, or a m/e on a fight night somewhere. Think Chito might end up being a gatekeeper, but he got those hands (and feet), which mean he's never out of a fight. Look forward to him fighting O'Malley again at some point, and I wonder if they might try and make the Aldo fight if he beats Dvalishvili. |
By:
Cruz for sure looked good, better than I expected tbh. the 25 minutes of fighting aspect worked heavily in my favour. I think Dom might have been able to squeeze a tight decision win if the fight was over 3 rounds if he had a bit of luck on his side. will be intersting to see where he goes from here... could he retire? not sure if Dom will be as motivated fighting nowhere near the title picture.
If O'Malley beats Yan, where next for him? Aljo against TJ in October for the belt. winners face each other? where does that leave Chito's chances of a title shot? lots of choices for the UFC right now in this division! |
By:
If O'Malley beats Yan, I'd guess he'll be fighting for the belt against winner of Aljo/TJ (providing that's not a dodgy decision).
If that happens, I'd guess they might give Chito another fight before Xmas, and providing he wins that he'll be fighting for the belt in 2023. Lots of moving parts, and I'm too lazy to delve into what they're going to do matchmaking wise, as often there are curveballs everywhere ![]() |

Leon's headkick connected so nice on a tired Usman's cranium in the final minute of a 25 minute contest fought at the altitude of Salt Lake City. poetry in motion

Get the rematch here, all being well.
See Dana mentioned Wembley, but we know Dana doesn't like stadiums, and he said as much. Imagine it will be the o2, other wise they'll have to wait until Summer. |
By:
Joe Rogan said he'll come over to the UK for the rematch. believe that one when I see it!!
By:
Be in and out on a private jet with Dana, so he may well do.
By:
would be really cool if he does. love him or hate him, he brings a different energy/feel to everything when he's part of the PPV commentary team

Gane 1.2 versus Tuivasa? Why so short?
By:
Tuivasa is seen to be very lacking in the wrestling department
By:
By:
Tuivasa is a banger that can do a bit of everything.
Gana is an elite martial artist. That's about the sum of it, I think. |

he's worn it at least 3 or 4 times already. he doesn't do up his top button and leaves the tie knot really loose. it looks absolutely terrible. i'm surprised nobody has said anything to him about it. he used to wear his black "waiter shirts" with a few buttons undone and this looked fine. wonder what made him change?
By:
he wore those shiny black shirts for years
By:
He never used to wear a suit at his shows, either. I've seen him 4/5 times over the last 10 years, and he always used to be dressed like most people go to the pub, in jeans & t-shirt etc.
He must have some kind of bet now, as he has had that awful suit on everytime I've seen him on TV, lol. |
By:
Twitter goes crazy every weekend when he's on the PPV team, it's constant comments about how terrible his suit and especially his tie looks
By:
I tend not to spend too much time on Twitter, and especially not MMA Twitter.
It's even worse than the UFC forum ![]() Till and Costa are both usally good value there and Insta, though. |
By:
I just search into twitter "joe rogan suit" and read some of them. it's always quite funny when he opens up the main PPV looking like he's 8 pints deep at a wedding reception
By:
or "joe rogan tie"
By:
8 pints deep is actually the perfect way to describe how he looks in a suit

Weird build up to this Gane fight, with him and Tuivasa posing for 'shoey's before the fight.
By:
you hyped for it? I think it'll be easy for Gane
By:
Looking forward to it, but wouldn't necessarily say hyped.
More hyped for the week after, when we see Khamzat back in the game! |
By:
Agree, on Gane. Think he'll beat win fairly handily.
By:
Gane played with his food to really soften it up, and then chomped right through it. brutal!
By:
The French fans were amazing also!
By:
Well, he did for most of it... apart from when the food bit him straight on the nose and almost put him to sleep
![]() Reminder that the h/w division is the one for chaos! Was a very good card, and the crowd was excellent. Almost wish I'd gone to that instead of the Boxing next month. |

hopefully Super Dana, Super Mick and Super Sean can make some funky replacement match-ups. loads of rumours swirling already..
By:
looks like it's Nate Diaz v Tony Ferguson for the main event now, and we've got Khamzat fighting Kevin Holland at a catchweight of 180 pounds
By:
Looking forward to Nate v Tony. Zero interest in anything the Khazmat dude does.
