...but would love to see Holland absolutely smash him... unlikely though.

hopefully Super Dana, Super Mick and Super Sean can make some funky replacement match-ups. loads of rumours swirling already..

All's well that ends well.

End up with 3 better fights.

Will have cost them some dough, and they owe some favours.

**** BT Sport. This censorship of the post-fight interviews is absolutely ridiculous.
By:

That was a good night, and some great fights.

I could be wrong, but I think it's ESPN that mute the interviews, and BT get the feed directly from ESPN.

Easy enough to find online, though.

Good card at the weekend, and some savage fights

Week off for UFC before Dern headlines an Apex card, but there is Bellator in Dublin this weekend.

Sandhagen did what he was supposed to do. knew he was on a different level to Song Yadong

100%!

If he didn't win that, it was time for him to follow Aldo, unless he wanted to gatekeep for a few years.

Yadong is 24 years old, and he'll come again.

Ok, a few quid on O'Malley at 3.6. Should be an interesting fight.

Won a few quid but Yan was outrageously robbed.

Maybe some anti-Russian sentiment. Mischief   Anyway, I'm backing Olivera at 2.72 with my winnings from O'Malley fight.

Be more melodramatic boys, hardly outrageous, or a robbery.

I backed Yan, but wasn't that aggrieved that I lost.

Whatever the result, Sugar's stock went up. As I didn't think he should be mixing in those waters yet.

Main card was good, but other than the Brady fight, didn't go much on the undercard.

Onwards we go... If I had had a busier month at work, might have nipped out for MSG. I've still got a £200 United Voucher, after they fkd me around coming back from Vegas in January.

Prices for 286 are looking mental... Was expecting an increase, but if what Adam Bryne has posted on Twitter is right, I might just save my money for IFW.

thoughts on this whole UFC/Ngannou/Jones/Gane situation?
By:
TimmyRiggins
When: 16 Jan 23 00:22
None really, played out as you could have expected.

Conor tried bending Dana before UFC 200, and look how that turned out.

Don't blame Francis for running a bluff, but you have to know when to fold 'em. As Kenny famously said Laugh

Jones/Gane was always going to be the fight they made, and you can't be mad at it.

Jones is the GOAT, which hurts to say, because I can't stand him.

Surprised Dana isn't trying to do it in Paris, though.

If Francis had folded at the right time, he'd have got paid BIG. but there was no chance they were gonna re-write the contract just for him
By:
TimmyRiggins
When: 18 Jan 23 21:20
He'll still get paid big, but the platform won't be as big.

I watched his Ariel interview, and he has thrown himself on the sword, from what he said. Was trying to push for fighters to have advocates in all meetings and healthcare for all fighters.

No way they're going to cough for that, even though they do tend to look after fighters with issues most of the time.

If anything he said wasn't true, we'll obviously hear about it.

AXS was having murders, but managed to get much the same seats for 286 as I had for the last card.

Dana must be getting ready to buy his wife some new diamonds, as the tickets cost double what July's did Cry

Why such a big price increase? to cover fight purse increases?
By:
TimmyRiggins
When: 26 Jan 23 14:11
In part, as it's a PPV and obviously a lot more expensive to put on a title fight with those 2.

I'd guess the rest is because they know they can get away with it. I was expecting them to be more expensive. I was thinking maybe 30-50%, and not almost double.

Could have offset some of the ticket prices if they'd done a stadium, but then you end up with half the crowd having a **** view.

I know I won't be going to another stadium fight, after going to Fury/Chisora. I had half decent tickets, but was still a mile from the ring Crazy

Another great card at the weekend, and the rest of the year is shaping up nicely!

I thought Volk did enough, given Islam had a lot of non-active control time, but can't complain at him winning. He snapped Volks nut back a good few times over the fight, even though he ended up looking a lot worse.

Hope they do it again soon, as it was a cracker.

Hope they make Yair v Volk at IFW, and don't do it in Mexico. Volk has just had one at home, so they might do, though.

Maddalena is a savage, and gonna be a problem going forward. Randy Brown was supposed to be a test, and he just blew through him.

Tafa another that should be in some fun fights going forward, and will be one Dana will keep around whatever happens, I imagine.

Crute another exciting fighter, and a little unlucky not to get that, even before the deduction, I thought.

Will have to watch them all again, as I've only seen them live so far, and not had a chance to rewatch yet.

I thought Islam did enough to win the fight. His striking was much better than I expected it to be, and he caught Volk with the cleaner shots throughout most of the fight. Volk definitely won the last round though, and I think if you gave Volk the fight Saturday to do over again he would have been more adventurous early and would most likely have won decisively. I agree we definitely need to see this fight again! One of the most competitive big stakes big-time fights I've watched in the UFC in ages!

I think Volk should be able to beat Yair comfortably unless he underestimates him or does something reckless. Totally different animal.

Della Maddalena is very, very impressive. I backed him to win on Saturday but also I messed up big-time by also backing him to win by KO/TKO/DQ. I didn't cover the submission and I got brutally owned by Marc Goddard when he didn't stop it when Randy got chinned Cry

I'd backed Crute too and greened out at 1.04. Market voided because of the draw Angry

I've not watched it back, but thought the flipside of that on the night. I have it to watch again on my flash drive, and might watch it Sunday afternoon if I don't go out for lunch.

Couldn't argue at all about the decision whoever got it, though I was expecting 48-47 all 3 for Volk. Funny watching the meltdowns, when you have such a close fight. People just cannot be objective about anything, and the ones with their $20 betting parlays are the worst Laugh

He is, and should get a big fight next, hopefully at IFW. Those boys down under are doing work, and amazing how they can have so many good fighters.

That's some rough luck, don't you win if you lay him in running? Mad that.

Some good cards between now and 286, especially Jon Jones!

I am asking the MMA gods to give us no more injuries. Gutted for Nate Wood, as that would have been a cracking fight.
