La Estrella can move to within one win of the record number of British victories on the all-weather when he runs at Lingfield on Wednesday.

Don Cantillon's 11-year-old has 23 successes on an artificial surface to his name, with China Castle currently holding the record on 25.

Fifteen of La Estrella's wins have come at Southwell but with no suitable races at the Nottinghamshire venue, Cantillon is forced to go to Lingfield for the 32Red On The App Store Claiming Stakes over two miles.

La Estrella has failed to get his head in front in three previous races at Lingfield.

"He was second in this race last year, but we're running in it again as there aren't any suitable ones at Southwell for a while," said Newmarket-based Cantillon.

"If he can't run at Southwell it may as well be Lingfield as it's a nice surface.

"The trip is OK, but obviously the surface is not ideal. He's a galloper so he should be fine but there are obviously negatives as, according to the weights, Bollin Judith should win.

"He's closing in on the record, but his legs are the most important thing. He was scanned 48 hours after his last run and they were fine, but he spends most of his life in the swimming pool.

"It's a fine art training him but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it."

Do you remember what I sai about the track getting quicker,well today advertised that fact with 60 rated hordes running 1m27.09 the track seems to be getting even quicker,hard to take the form seriously with the other runners in behind George Benjamin and munaawib.Ithink also that 7f race was around 1.7 seconds quicker than any other 7f handicap run there this season,so times can be misleading without looking at the rrst of the card,or recent cards/

the TATTING'S times worked out well, just like you said the 80 handicaps would be run in around 140. exactly what happened
and going off fav at 9/4 having been raised to 79, was going to find it tough, after running times in the 142.00 range.

good day 7 winners over the two meetings, was just guessing most of the day from previous knowledge, stupid really, first warning in 5.55 had that on a few multiples, horse had never raced over 12f, alutiq race the forecast was the bet, just backed the winner.
jazzy lady turning into a very reliable winner. agree about the times, tatting was still worth putting in the tricasts that day,
running off the higher mark, wasnt backable at the price. all comes back to the prices. was good run from oriental relation seems to
be still improving.

dont know if horses are ahead of the handicapper, dont think that far ahead, understand form patterns and so more inclined
to back horses that are inform, then selecting horses that are well handicapped and not showing any form, much more difficult
to find those and you have to watch lots of races. putting few horses on here, find you can learn alot from writing your thoughts
down and makes things easier to remember. lets assume know the all weather horses, because they race against each other all the time
going to to get to know the horses, very consistent when they start hitting form.

why so many questions? if you read all the posts you will know someone asked why dont post on the horse racing forum.
really simple dont like being asked lots of questions, always why this why that, do this do that, cant expect me to view
things from your point of view as regards horses being ahead of the handicapper, never really thought of horses being
ahead of the handicapper in those terms. got my own methods a mind palace.

already proven a good form line with the 2nd winning today, hindsight should of put them both on this thread, so obvious
didnt bother, once you know the right horses, kuanyao has won 3/5 now, thats consistency was talking about, dont bet on the
all weather, thats your business. easiest form to read and the most reliable at times, most of the time dont have to worry
about the going. the horses dont have to jump  obstacles

got to disagree about the all weather,you dont know what opportunitys are available betting on the all weather, your just
saying the same things you hear from all the people that complain about AW. little bit dusty beaten a nse by horse that won
last night, two winners today have won 3/5 - 3/4. tee it up tommo 7/4 last night

class 5 5f lingfield maiden

SEARCHLIGHT 1st 5/4 OR 78 lightly raced 3yo and has some good form in the book at class 4 level, wasnt beaten much by THATABOY
in a better race was giving that 12 lbs that day, looks capable in future races against weaker opposition will go off fav.
todays time of the race 0.58 slow very decent time, filly he beat today was rated 89 and getting 5lbs filly allowance.

thought the TATTING has been exposed at that level off that mark, shame about SUMMERFREE that cost me some very good doubles and trebles
with grandad mac / i'll be good (massive swing at weights) and winner of the summerfree race actually had some solid form, layed off some, mulitples would of payed lot more.

I thought Searchlight would go on to become a much better 2yo than he eventually did become. He looked a real strong traveller and while I haven't seen his more recent work he'd be of interest to me as well on parts of what he was doing last year.

class 2 5f southwell handicap

SILKEN EXPRESS 1st 9/2 looks a good sprinter in the making, 11 runs and 3 wins so far and beat some good types today,
has been running in good quality races against some decent sprinters, still lightly raced and rated OR 89 and beat
even stevens off almost level weights and that ones rated 97 OR, as with all sprinters they win some and lose some.
well bred by speightstown, time slow 2.19  was good a cover bet today.

class 4 7f lingfield handicap

NASSUA STORM 1st 7/1 hasnt won alot of races this horse, just over 20 runs and 3 wins, could be some more wins ahead,
has raced against some very smart types and beat them and finished runner up, todays time was 0.10 fast, was good cover
bet today

not your usual profile that basingstoke has, 5yo lightly raced and winning sellars, like you say has been running well
and will be interesting to see how those times will develope into wins hopefully. good learning curve for me understanding
times better hope.

thanks frank, learned form one of the best gamblers on the internet, just trying to find few winners like everyone else,
seem to be good at finding winners, so no harm putting few notebooks on here and hopefully they win a fair share of races.
