I think sageform is right,at least from what we are being told. 90% of the forum will not be affected as we are either too old or have no intention of getting a job.

clouded, I take your point about multiple countries doing this at the same time. Sounds like a successful marketing campaign by one of the tech companies who are selling it to them. Government agencies are very gullible to this sort of thing. Look at the Post Office. If you tried to market an aircraft or a car that regularly failed then you would be in big trouble from the "authorities" but as none of them understand IT, if any (very expensive) computer app fails to produce reliable results, the company that sold it is unlikely to get many legal penalties. And if we did fine them, Donald would accuse us of being biased against US companies.

Petition against it will be 1 million by this afternoon. Going up at around 500 a minute currently.
By:
Sign the petition! Guaranteed not to be tracked!

Surely signing an on-line petition is a Trojan Horse - if you sign it the authorities will know what you are thinking.
![]() A pencil and paper petition (and signing under a false name) is surely the safest way forward. |
By:
What on earth does it seek to achieve, if it's not mandatory, that we don't already have
![]() If you do not have a photo ID that allows you to vote, you can apply for a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’ for free. This is a paper document with your photo on it that you can use to prove your identity when voting in England, Scotland or Wales. https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate |

Thats true Mr Salmon, I dont think pensioners will be asked to get one. |
By:
They are hoping it might reduce the black economy Cider but those employers whose staff only work at night are hard to catch.
By:
It's not possible to get a job without the right to work now. Illegal employers funnily enough don't bother. Why would they bother with digital id either?
By:
So they want to introduce digital ID that over 13 million people won't be forced to use? Sounds like bollocks.
By:
The authorities absolutely don't give a shyte about illegal working. I can absolutely guarantee you that virtually every poster on this forum could tell you of at least one location near them that uses illegal workers as of today.
By:
ID’s will be phased in for everyone. The far left don’t want to jettison pensioner votes.
By:
Probably 80%+ have home deliveries, delivered by illegal workers! It's ubiquitous.
By:
Every gypo in the country is doing some form of illegal work too
By:
Petition now 807K and counting.....
By:
It's the same disease as per usual, most illegal workers are in some type of 'minority' community. So the authorities look the other way. They will still be infected after any 'digital ID' system is launched.

Don't kid yerselves .. it will be all and sundry
Will be used to access health services for a start ... |

This is to take away the freedom of speech of hard working people in determining their own future. It’s so far left politicians can enforce population change unchecked on behalf of the United Nations.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/companies-house-confirms-identity-verification-rollout-from-18-november-2025
Companies House getting a start for business owners and Directors A legal requirement by Nov 18 so regardless of what kickback happens they just carry on unabated Good job all this went through the correct democratic process tho eh ![]() From 18 November 2025: new directors will need to verify their identity to incorporate a company or be appointed to an existing company existing directors will need to confirm they have verified their identity at the same time as they file their next annual confirmation statement, during a 12-month transition period existing PSCs will need to verify their identity in line with an appointed day within 12 months of the commencement of mandatory identity verification on 18 November AI and Digital Government Minister Feryal Clark said: This is an important and welcome step in our plan to modernise government and build a stronger, more trusted digital economy and deliver our Plan for Change. By introducing identity verification through GOV.UK One Login, we’re using technology to make life easier for people. It means companies can prove who’s behind them in a fast, secure, and user-friendly way. This is us driving better services, accurate data, and business growth to make government work for everyone. |

Tech leaders also want it to suppress unrest with upcoming AI job losses which will also be aggravated by planned population changes
By:
all at once exactly. who would want it once they see others with their freedom of speech gone?

oldies are already locked out of the health system, online triage at the GP, direct debit on prescription deliveries, online repeat prescriptions. my old folks would have snuffed it years ago if i didn't do it all for them.

this enforced population change with AI transforming the jobs market with more unemployed across the world at the same time is an unbelievably combustible formula of civil unrest the far left are creating

So is he saying you only have to have one if you want to work.I wont ever be working again so will i not need one?
By:
They will be phased in. They need the pensioner vote at the next election. They wont get the youth vote they normally try to harvest, lowering voting age etc, because AI is hitting new graduates worst as it is replacing entry level roles that graduates would normally take. The last thing the far left want to do is lose pensioners until they dont need their vote.

By:
what's all this far left? Starmer is closer to you than me politically
By:
i am apolitical i dont support left or right. i care about people and populations and freedom. i am taking the piss just like they are calling normal people in fear far right.
By:
But many of his cabinet are further left than Starmer and he is powerless without a majority in his party.
By:
I fail to see where this AI job loss is coming from. From what I read the only job cuts are in hospitality due to the NI increase and the fall in spending power of the majority. Nothing to do with AI. I experienced robots serving food to tables at a Centre Parks a couple of years ago so it is out there but why is it not taking over more quickly?
By:
DIE LINKE i should have put it in quotes apologies it was really a skit on what i see as normal people who are afraid being mentioned similarly

There may be advantages to ID cards it’s just that they aren’t being sold great. Hopefully it all goes smoothly and we can be optimistic :)

After all that? You rely on hope Eric? They were never mentioned as Clouded pointed out. clouded leopard • September 26, 2025 9:38 AM BST They lie, always have, always will. 'In July 2024, following Labour's election victory, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper explicitly stated that digital ID cards were not part of the government's plans, saying, "That’s not our approach". Similarly, Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds confirmed at the time that the government could rule out introducing digital ID cards, stating it was not part of their plans' That’s a dictatorship bringing in something with the like it or lump it attitude with no debate beforehand. |

By:
So long as they arent linked to bank accounts, lifestyle etc then they shouldn't be an issue, but we know thats how they'll start off and the first opportunity they get they'll impose more and more restrictions through them.
By:
Thats the logic
By:
no problem, eric.

If they try to link them to purchases and sales they will lose support very fast.
