The world changed with the spread and speed of news. Now it’s a mili second, Trotsky travelled Russia in a train, printing leaflets to put out to people to spread the word. Most couldn’t read so pictures were used. Funny how that turned full circle. |

The point that I was making about the spread of news is how the trouble started last summer. Now we have fake news to contend with. It could literally kick off at any moment given the wrong news.
That’s why it’s important for things to be explained in detail by those in power not just banned. Distrust in the gov is rife and is fuelled by foreign powers online. Having looked up PA and read more I can now see why they were classed as they were. The grannies I referred to should really look further into it and I feel have been used in part due to the their sympathies which no doubt are enhanced by the daily news that they’re seeing. What I read listed two far right groups. They have a racist agenda, one is terribly named and the term far right shouldn’t keep being attached to parties like Reform or anyone with a conservative point of view. |

Of ALL the well known conspiracy theories , how many have EVER been proven to be true ? please list your favourites from 1 to 10.
I don't expect many replies. |

One favourite is that Rico is a government agent reporting back on all our p&l’s to the DSS and HMRC.

Roswell is well known for being a cover up. Think Oswald done Kennedy? Think the Diana was ever going to be able to marry Dodi? Then there’s the Scientist that was killed by his own people - who is behind all the stories about jumping from windows thinking you can fly because he was on LSD. I believe his name was Olsen, but I’ll double check. |

Been announced on the news, as someone said - did we vote for this?

It’s been discussed already, really think they’re going to stop the boats or people coming in other ways?

Ok with all this hacking to be lumped into a data base?
I’ve nought to hide but anything this joke lot bring in doesn’t inspire any confidence. One bad decision after another, but you go with it by all means, trust the rabbit in the headlights! |

How will this stop the illegals working. They don't posses N.I. numbers as it is and they work
in the underground economy. If Labour brings this it will bring about their downfall very quickly. |

Proof of identity should be required in every country and UK is one of only a handful that does not make it mandatory already. Why it should be on a smartphone is very odd. Only 90% of the population have one (and probably less than that for migrants) while in many rural areas there is no mobile signal either. Will we be obliged to have our driving license and passport details on a phone as well? I have a mobile but have no clue what the square squiggly things on documents are for

QR code is just a fancy barcode. You basically install a QR code reading app (if you don't already have one), and it will directly link to a URL for example. They are a security risk of course and only trusted codes should be scanned.
As for proof of identity, we already have multiple, and as I stated elsewhere, try opening a bank account without photo ID. Well, you can't. You can work illegally without showing your employer the right to work (as long as the employer is operating illegally). Funnily enough it would be exactly the same with ID cards. |
|
By:
Where the ID system is well established, you can't even buy food without showing one and any goods in your car which look new mean that you need a receipt with you. That is the sort of attitude we need rather than the one we have which is "please behave because we have no means of making you do so if you don't want to"
|
|
By:
So will the digital ID be a QR code and require a downloaded app?
|
|
By:
God forbid we should have an app tracking us

You need to fundamentally change the question. What has he done right? The only thing is his relationship with Trump. Which can only be short term.

Failing to stop the boats imo, this is a dealbreaker, forget inflation, forget ID cards, if he had reduced or even looked like reducing the illegals he would be seen as a hero. Alas he hasnt a clue. |

Going back to Digital ID. Assuming that it has to be on a smartphone which costs a minumum of £10 a month and usually more, that means that everyone will have to pay to have an ID. I know that 90% of the population already accept that this is an essential cost of living but are the remaining 10% going to be forced to pay as well? Nice extra perk for the mobile operators and no doubt they will put the costs up to cover the "admin cost" of digital ID. I will ask for a free plastic ID card if that option exists.
|
|
By:
They haven't thought through all of the details as this is the archetypal dead cat. But if anyone wants the most basic of smartphones, that can be done by purchasing the device outright for about £30-40 (probably cheaper pre-owned), and sim only for about £5 a month.
|
|
By:
Another win for the so called conspiracy theorists tho.
|
|
By:
As I said above, there is a huge diference between a physical ID card and a behemoth that holds all your govt info in one place accessible by some sort of app. The former with some biometrics included would be ok, the latter will be a massively costly insecure failure that should be resisted by everyone.
