Believing French going reports is the pathway to the poorhouse.
Watch a race or two and check the times |

Soft ground it’s a million tbh….
|

Myself and howard had an extended argument about this horse and soft going. Well here we are, appears he is running again in soft going after all.
Horse is on a reputation recovery mission though. |

Won over a furlong less two years ago at Longchamp on good to soft in a time faster than standard, traffic going to be more of an issue than ground imo but could be has just not progressed as expected this season?

The ground is no slower than Good!

Fabre gave us that update on the going more accurately yesterday than any of these journos….
Fabre sends two contenders to a race he has won 12 times, with William Buick back on Cualificar after the pair finished runners-up in the Prix du Jockey Club, a race in which Nitoi failed to figure. "They both needed the run in Deauville and I think Cualificar might need another run, because he got quite heavy," said Fabre. "But for the first time he will have good ground and a mile and a half, so I'm quite confident. |

Can be on the quick side of good and they call it soft over there Cider.

The ground is ok for Rosie just the draw is a negative.
When there’s been big fields a draw of higher than 10 has been too much to over come. Small fields more recently but it done for henrythenavigator. So Hannon you have an excuse if needed! |
|
By:
You could well be correct that the ground wasn't overly quick at York but I don't think it was ideal especially taking into account his draw and how the race panned out. I have already admitted the horse is not quite as good as I thought but he's certainly very good. Hopefully ground not gone too far the other way today.

For sure. But travelling to France in September doesn't usually correlate with wanting quick going. Are you betting him today? |
|

DG looks a touch of value to me
|

One set of books as Diff will confirm were keen to take on Aventure yesterday, did they know the true going?
I.e. that she wants soft and isn’t getting it? Was good when she was beaten by Calandagan at Saint - Cloud |
|
By:
I hope Rosallion wins. The value is with The Lion In Winter. I'm not perturbed by jockey booking.
|

No Cider. Tend to only back horses on a sound g/f surface ( unless I believe a horse is a mud lover and has those conditions )

Dancing Gemini is too big a price to ignore win & place imv…

Sahlan looks good value having drifted out to 20/1. Ran behind Henri Matisse here on only his third start and was beaten less than five lengths. He was a long way behind at one stage and ran on well under a less than vigoroud ride. Won well last time and is probably one of the few here who has further improvement in him.

Such a shame. Rosallion is 2nd again. TLIW ran a good race; Henri Matisse was no where.

I just can't understand how they keep getting Rosallion beaten. He was a 100/1 chance after a furlong but still nearly got there.

There is no doubt Rossalion is a really good horse but the jockey continually let's it down. Terrible ride again. To far back. No wonder punters get frustrated.

needs 9 or 10f, pretty unlikely alas
