Agree with donegal the amount of races lost by the best horse on the day being to far of the pace is scandalous,I enjoy watching as many races as possible from a no bet viewpoint the amount of poor or maybe intentional efforts who knows I watched a race yesterday with hollie doyle and I was genuinely lost for words at the ride she gave the horse they have one job to do between 1 and 7 times a day and in my opinion majority couldn't give a continental

Should have added beaten just over a length or thereabouts

If you put Rosallion in front from the gates he wouldn't finish his race.
You either understand horses or you don't. They are not BMW's |
By:
But if you have him closer to the pace he wins a length……Yawn !
Don’t you watch racing ? |

backing unlucky horses Is a proven short cut to the poor house !

They shouldn’t have bottled the Marois! Got an unlucky draw at York!

I have said this in a previous thread but the amount ot races we have now with no pace and horses pulling for their heads is off the scale, look at the race at the Shergar cup when the Indian jockey took the race by the scruff and went on about six out and the others ignored him and he skated in.
Todays mantra is ''get him settled'' or ''get a lead'', if they all do that then where the fck are we. The very best jockeys read the race when the gates open unfortunatly today we have a load of robots riding. |

Had he won a sh hd the jockey would probably still be slated on here as much as the horse and trainer, seems to be a mini vendetta against all three for some reason? It was obvious that the draw would play a big part yesterday and they were hostages in terms of tactics, in the circumstances the horse ran a very good race with a good ride from Sean.
The only horse drawn in double digits in the first six which is an achievement in itself in a biggish field at Longchamp, so between there and Goodwood it would appear his progress has not halted and the performance can be marked up imo. |

Vendetta against a horse
![]() It has a massive reputation but keeps failing to deliver on the track. For example only a few weeks ago howard thought it was the fastest miler since Kingman. Plus the phantom injury debacle. Which didn't bother me as I don't pay too much attention to connections' musings, however easy to see why it looked like it was leveraged to take an apparent easier opportunity (and upset people). Clearly 'pub talk' about horses and rides is part of the attraction. When they are fast finishing at the line and in front soon after, you'll invariably get people upset with the ride, human nature. |
By:
You’re right cider they did look for an easier option at York.
He actually followed the winner but gave him too much of a start. That’s all about positioning, how many close finishes do you see at Longchamp? Nicking a length or two as Barza had made the difference. |

Really, Rosallion is tough. He’s the best horse in the race. Nobody did anything wrong. He will end up winning one, everybody agrees on that. In fact, he hasn’t really been beaten, has he?”

We could write your complete knowledge of jockeys and racing on a pinhead Quixall !!
By:
We !
Who’s we lol….. Thread still missing spit it out….. The rider will show no shame if interviewed tonight at Windsor…. Surprised if he keeps the mount tbh… Saffie Osborne should ride next time tbf… |
By:
Case rested!!! You spend your life blaming everyone but yourself for being a failure at the game Quixall, even down to the Dam lying on the wrong side when sleeping during gestation!!
By:
Countless riders could have won on the horse by racing closer to the pace….
I thought you would know that you being Einstein 2 of the forum tbh….. Watch where he was at the 2 furlong pole…..dreadful behaviour (7) stuff imv….. |

Hey Cag !
What do you reckon Hannon Snr was thinking during and after the race ? |
By:
Probably thought before and after that they were undone by the draw, born out if you look at the first six home, what happened to your selection btw?
By:
I backed the Teal horse win & place purely on the price…
I almost played the Hannon horse but the more i looked at the rider……. |

Its alright,Aceform's race reading ability is at the same as reading Janet & John for 6YO's.
The draw beat the horse. Other than coming six wide and lighting the horse up early the horse was being kept in for far longer than the jockey would have liked. It happens. As for Safie getting the ride ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As for Safie getting the ride Saffie Osborne is a seriously good rider as is Gina Mangan…..keep taking the tablets iron…. Top horses overcome bad draws with top horsemen on board,he is not a top horseman….fact ! |

Maybe you and Cagliari could steer me in profit….I could follow you both for a month or two….
But you must promise to give me shelter when I’m fkn homeless….. Pr!ks…. |

About time you grew up Quixall.
By:
I wouldn't give you the drippings from my nose,Aceform.
There is a very good reason why lose money every year. You are at best a semi mug who thinks he knows it all which precludes you getting any wiser. I will waste no further time with you |

Lol Aye !
You’ll be back…. |

About time you grew up Quixall Don’t shy away from the fact you ain’t very good cag looking back at the selections you have given out, including a stab at the American stuff.. Dire tbh… |
By:
Any examples to back up your claim Quixall? Bearing in mind you have already been proven wrong and declined a punt on the fact.
By:
He's a very good horse with no issues between the ears as far as I can see. How races have been run and draws haven't been ideal. As I have said maybe a touch harsh but I do believe a real top class jock could have made a difference but it's not certain. But if he was mine I would replace Levey if a top jock was available.
By:
Sensible post.
By:
the point is in his last 3 races ,has the horse had the horse got both the speed to lay up with the pace and still have his kick at the end, theyve been making excuses for about 6 of his runs last 2 seasons,if they ran him at york if grounds ok in paris you,d think they,d run in the floret instead of waiting for ascot and worrying about getting his ground
By:
Group 1 horses can normally quicken up well and kill them off if placed well during the race……
By:
Not much he could do from that draw.
Remember reading when Doyle asked Piggott his advice on Sea Of Class in the Arc when she was drawn high. He said to drop her in and hope for the best. |
By:
The body language from Hannon told the story he’s not going to ridicule his rider in public like the ignorant Wildenstein…..
I will be surprised tho if he rides it next time… |
By:
Piggott had a terrible draw on Nijinsky in the Arc. The result was the same as Rosallion’s. I’m with irons - the draw beat the horse and very little the jock could have done differently. I still feel it is academic though as the horse is one to be avoided, simply because it repeatedly gets beat!
By:
Yawn !
By:
When a horse with proven quality like Rosallion is beaten 5 races on the bounce you can only draw one of two conclusions , the excuses are mounting up or someone is making the same mistake and expecting different results.
Take your pick ![]() |
By:
They gave the horse daylight at York and he flattened out,Hayden.
