Impossible Andrew has been ok with me and engaged about the Prix Diane, I can’t talk for him about his comments but wanted to show him that they aren’t saints.

Billies has a crooked market where they list 11 but only pay two places. This means that the expect non runners and are willing to take bets on horses that they know won’t show - it’s a disgrace and those in the journalism game or on tv won’t call them out as there might be an advert to make by same pay masters.

I agree they are ruining things but racing as a whole needs to get honest with itself.

Stringvest

Sandown is part of jcr and I believe that is part of the problem they have with falling attendance many people still like to keep things private and don’t need there bank knowing they spent £40 going in a race course around the same on a few drinks and then a score a race probably not over keen on the wife finding out either.

There was a poster named 'Andrew' who repeatedly posted his lay bets. It was getting seriously annoying. I do not give a hoot how one bets as betting is only a game to me and probably most including those by so called "professional" tipsters pid by bookies to drum up trade. As such, I put the individual on 'ignore'.

impoosible, that's the trouble , the last time I went into a betting shop, you had to find which of the 20-odd screens had the betting and horse race you were interested in, hidden amongst the other sports, cartoons etc. The people in there wanted a quick fix, whatever was coming on next, almost certainly not the next race 10 minutes later.

Andrew posted his lay bets before the race took place nothing wrong with that is there ?

Absolute gentleman and very knowledgeable with a love for horse racing ,I don’t know if rampton still exists but if it did you would be a candidate impossible for stay over for a few weeks.

jimnast, that is the problem of joint bank accounts and modern technology, they know what you're drinking before you've even taken it off the bar!

'Delashay', I spoke from experience.

I complained about the market here about Man City winning an unspecified number of trophies last season, and its handling of it eg repeated suspension for long periods. I'd not manage my position but was offered £25 as compensation for the inconvenience.

I went to IBAS. I won, and got my entire stake back (over £900); betfair admitted to IBAS their market was "malformed" - their description. Some here (probably bookies/traders from other bookies) were laying long odds on these (malformed) markets using odds from another bookie eg Boyles.

If this 'Andrew' is the same 'Andrew' from the past I'll put him on 'ignore' again. I do not like posters being deliberately disingenuous and condescending.

Such an experience would leave a bitter taste I’m sure. Take it like water off a ducks back. We all have bad days and some need to chill quite a bit.

They remind me of the guys in the bookies beating up the machines and calling it coova! Laugh Laugh

I once saw a guy of that ilk in the tote put so much in without payout that he actually stood there a pissed himself rather than leave the machine to go toilet! Grin

'jimnast', not on almost every blooming race. I cannot see the valid reason for doing that unless for self interest only eg I'd put up what I fancy in a big race or two, but not everyone on the card.

Anyway, I'm done with 'Andrew'.

Laugh I’d seen it all in that little tote. Walked in after an armed robbery of which there were three during my time there!

Guy was wearing his birthday pressie a leather jacket from his mum, the two armed raiders were told to F off by the lovely Jamaican lady Olive so they took out their frustration on him and pistol whipped him.

The police took his new jacket as evidence.

Months later I saw him and asked did you get your jacket back? No he said, they lost it!

The police lost it! Laugh

I never stood by him when writing a bet, felt he was unlucky big time! Laugh

You said that we live in a free country -  you think for now, I wondered about yours and anyone’s else’s thoughts on the suspect of brain washing.

Maybe it’s a topic for another time another thread.

I understand now yes of course there’s an awful lot of brainwashing it’s up to people not to stand for it but in fairness thats easier said than done for many.

The two most powerful men in America ie Mush and President Trump. One moment they were inseparable, next they were bickering in public like a pair of old foggies. How can anyone reconcile that? Thank goodness we are not Americans.

We didn’t manage to save the Derby but I hope at least one of you laughed at happenings in the tote!

Personally I miss the smoke in the air and characters, nite clubs weren’t the same without smoking or pubs for me.

The smoke covered up many smells! Laugh

Best days were had.

Get fit, stay fit, live long, pay your stamp and lose your marbles, end up in a hospital bed on an old persons ward, not being fed unless your family visit.

Sell that dream, the beginning is easy, the rest is never thought of.

The longer you live and work, the more taxes you can pay!

The next generation have been geared up for that and don’t know that long life is in genetics not always what you eat or do.

Picasso smoked the French filter - less whatever they’re called and lived a great life.

Leave Charlie alone. The Queen was a hard task to emulate despite many years as the understudy.

Next week I'd like to see both Rosallion and Field Of Gold to win. At least both are on Day 1 which gives me a bit of time to rejig plan, if necessary.

Will Pride Of Aras run at The Curragh against Lambourne? I think he ought to given the kudos that will bring. A few of the Epsom runners are shying away eg Ruling Court, Damysus, Delacroix and The Lion In Winter.

I apologise if my post upsets anyone or brings back bad memories, but if ever you’re loved one is there, in that situation - be there.

I’m sorry that you’ve witnessed the same Jimnast.

Good luck Impossible I’m looking elsewhere, they can win but their prices don’t appeal.

Asides TStud - The only danger might come from within his own stable. I’m waiting for entries.

TS showed a good turn of foot once in the clear at Epsom. Had been written off as a Leger hacker, but then again Lambourn was in that category going into the Derby.

I'll give Charlie till 2030. Post this I think he'll hand the throne to his elder son, Prince William. I cannot see him replicating his mum until he pops the clog.
