Where did you get ur info from broady??
By:
Sky racing just said Nick Luck has tweeted it. Suspected he wouldnt ride Fields of Gold again but surprised at that.
By:
Gutted for him tbh as he has had a bit of bad luck......FOG just didnt quicken as quickly as he looked like he would on the faster ground and it has cost him his job

Ok so will still ride for the Gosdens so not sacked as such

By:
There's a few owners in the stable that have their own jockeys.
Hope he bounces back. |

By:
/john-and-thady-gosden-to-use-best-available-rider- he won't be riding that much then

pundits on tv said nowt wrong with the ride ? ------------------------------------------------- now that he has effectively been axed... will those same pundits now DISAGREE with Gosden... or will they say it was the correct decision... or will they say NOWT ? my guess is that they will conveniently forget they defende the ride tbh... a case of 'ineversaidthatism' more than likely imv howard. |
By:
defended.
By:
How badly does this reflect on the apologists who immediately trundled out all the usual excuses, including suggesting that Gosden would think about it with the idea that he would somehow come round to their way of thinking. He had nothing to think about.
Decision from a man who spent most of last season defending him. |

Done a packet on FOG 6/1 and similar prices. At first pocket talking, I felt it was a bad ride. Watched it a few times later and felt that the jockey expected the horse to pick up quicker and it failed to.
Buick/Moore have ridden in these situations may have overcame the horses slow response, that is big race riding. Felt the lad done nothing, my pocket is a lot lighter, and feel it was of of those days and hope he bounces back, maybe in a big race on the yards second string. |
By:
Yes mistake made , but perhaps inevitable after previous race/ground , good luck to him and echo comment below .
By:
Well wishers coming out of the woodwork. Rings a bit hollow after the panning he gets on here on a regular basis.
By:
It was a poor ride at that level and Buick did him up like a kipper. Owners have soon put their foot down.
By:
Rab Havlin preferred on a short priced favourite owned by Normandie Stud, a noted owner/breeder. Surely very few would say he was the "best available".
By:
Havlin rides quite a few for her.
By:
Jockey apologists nowhere to be seen
By:
He seems a nice lad so hope he doesn't go into a shell. He definitely messed up however anyone tries to dress it up. So he's not gonna get the plum rides anymore and Murphy has his own problems atm. One common denominator, Chapman. Loughnane would want to e very careful and keep him at arms length as there's no doubt Chapman will be looking for a new jockey to hp ott about and stalk on the racetrack.
By:
* go ott
By:
with frankie i suspect he knew he'd be harder to replace and they made up of sorts, don't think that will happen here
By:
I agree Penzance and Ms Cooper might prefer him as a familiar rider in the yard but what does "best available" mean?
By:
means james hasnt got a ride
By:
best available means, speaks to agents, they say who's free and he says fck

rico and co front up ya f@nnys.

Had plenty of time to pick up Ruling Court. Pretty disrespectful to suggest FOG would have just sweep by him if KS had went for him sooner. RC won a bit more snugly than the winning margin suggests IMVHO

something in that WP but on that quicker ground the jock should have given the fav less ground to make up. Fav ran faster than the winner final furlong but still got no closer than half a length.
By:
I honestly believe plenty on here believe the FOG should have won on the bridle lol
By:
I get what you're saying Howard. He should have moved him upside RC when he had the chance but then he would have come under a ride and I just don't see him outstaying the winner. Just my opinion of course
By:
From a trainer who has been slaughtered on here for decision making, placing his horses, using Rab, I can't see what difference his decision to sack him, would make to anyone who thought the best horse won on the day.
I certainly haven't changed my mind that ruling court won with a bit in hand. Three very good horses imho |
By:
Juddmonte thing probably ,he rides for Gosden at York next week….
Should be riding the horse in the St James Palace imv… |

Don't think he had to outstay RC to win the race WP. Where I would agree is that RC is pretty smart at a mile though further should suit. That was the day to beat him likely to be harder at 10f.

If Shoe does lose his job it won't be entirely due to one ride that's obvious , it'll be an OPINION from the heirarchy taken over a period of time.
Personally whether he loses job or not i'll still be of the opinion that lack of tactical speed on that differing ground cost it the race therefore the best horse won the race. A future rematch will prove absolutely nothing and as per the threads will go on forever with not a single soul changing their own view. For once i agree with the Angus analysis on RUK but that said once they've weighed in i find it very easy to move on bet or no bet as nothing is an exact science in horse racing. |

Juddmonte sacked Greville Starkey….
Wildenstein sacked Pat Eddery….. |
