both hands should be on the reins pushing it out
By:
Doyle thinks it was the horse's fault.
You couldn't make it up. |
By:
you want to see why horse racing is a sport in decline...just what this total sh1tshow been served up tonight
By:
suck it up
By:
To many gin nd tonics
By:
the sport is not in decline because of james doyle tonight...what a ridiculous comment..This sort of error has been happening for decades.
horse racing is in decline, because the world has moved on, there is no mystique about horse racing anymore.. We see every race, every jockey, the price money is poor and the product just does not capture public interest like it does in places like Oz and Japan. |
By:
lack of confidence in the product aberdonia, this is just another nail
By:
how many times do you see them dropping their hands in other jurisdictions?
By:
he'd be lynched in some places
By:
It just makes the game look corrupt. The people charged with policing it are not fit for purpose.
Conversion should have gone 'sorry Mr Doyle but you are talking absolute bollocks, enjoy your 'holiday''. |
By:
Not sure that is an issue with the public at large...marketing is an issue, being on the back foot to the animal lobby is just terrible...Specific races throughout the year just dont grab the attention , like they did, back in the 80s, office sweep every Wednesday Derby....Most folk now, no idea the Derby is run, sadly.
As for Doyle, actually think he is a very decent jockey....Seeing every race , every day, is difficult, under the spotlight all the time...imagine everyone watching you/me at work every day... |

It just makes the game look corrupt. The people charged with policing it are not fit for purpose. exactly |
By:
agree with them not dropping hands overseas...because of the punishment.....no issue with the authorities here handing out 6 month bans.....having said that, the stewards tonight, said no case to answer, which is obviously the wrong decision.

It just makes the game look corrupt. The people charged with policing it are not fit for purpose. Conversion should have gone 'sorry Mr Doyle but you are talking absolute bollocks, enjoy your 'holiday''. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 100% correct. as i've always said they are all in it together... media plays along with it too. |
By:
how many pundits presenters will come out and say Doyle is talking cr@p he should've been banned...?
ZERO. |
By:
I struggle to believe a lesser jockey would have got away with that.
By:
Come racing….nah! …….no thank you…
By:
By:
why are they even interviewing him there's no case to answer, he even said I wasn't riding vigorously in the last few yards
given the margins that's a ban end of story horse hanging is irrelevant you still push out in a finish |
By:
even chapman knows it total bs

Horse silk sh 8 (9) No Retreat 39-7 5/6f T: R VarianJ: James Doyle Tracked leaders, 3rd going well over 2f out, went 2nd inside final 2f, ridden to challenge entering final furlong, led towards finish, edged left and eased close home, headed post op 4/5 |
By:
Surely Chapman 'told it like it is'?
By:
James made a mistake, trying to look clever on a promising £1.2m potential star. Inept riding but definitely not corrupt! What is shocking though is how the ex-jock/presenters will never criticise one of their own. Look at the dodgy ones who have been actually been caught out and recorded on tape with no consequences- Martin Dwyer and Paul Mulrennan - the latter who handily has his missus as a permanent fixture in the studio.Legends, Bradley, Fallon (snr) John Egan, Kelly , Browne and others. Reaffirms why I no longer bet on horse racing and concentrate on football and rugby! The Sport of King's is simply too dodgy and corrupt!

you are spot on essex.
By:
if it wasn't for in running i wouldn't touch racing for betting purposes never mind watch it...
it's utterly rancid imv. |
By:
You couldnt script it, check out Alex Jary sitting up a few yards from the line 19.25 Windsor and losing 3rd to Conor Planas driving for the the line
By:
Yes Jary another disgrace there. Just gave up near line
By:
James Doyle, the rider of NO RETREAT (IRE), placed second, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Doyle’s explanation that NO RETREAT (IRE) jinked in the final strides on the run to the line, causing both itself and Doyle to become unbalanced, requiring him to get a hold of the horse’s head, was noted.
By:
he started easing down 2 secs,20-25yds before the line when it looked about nck-1/2L in front...ive no doubt 100% if he'd kept pushing it would have won..if he hasnt been banned its an insult to peoples intelligence.
By:

omertà - the obligation never, under any circumstances, to apply for justice to the legal authorities and never to assist in any way in the detection of crimes committed against oneself or others when you work in racing, you sign up for omerta. break the code, and you will quickly find yourself cancelled. |

By:
best place to get the truth.
on here. |

By:
Horse was in on it.....HTH...
By:
if stewards truly believe what they stated then theres no hope wotsoever..absolute total incompetence and they simply arnt fit for purpose.
By:
if they ban him, next time they go for a pint down one of these horseracing pubs in Lambourn or Newmarket soon as they walk in the door they're getting there's that absolute cnt that banned James the other day. better to just ignore it. makes ya life a lot easier.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- it's a sad state of affairs but you are correct hulk. |
By:
ditto the presenters. Mick Fitz walks in, did you hear what Fitzy said about James the other night ? fkng wnkr.
no more interviews for him |
By:
Matt Chapman
@MCYeeehaaa Whether you agree with the @WindsorRaces stewards or not there is no obligation for @the_doyler to discuss the decision and he did. If you want people to come and chat about the game there’s no point just slagging them or they will just think why bother! @AtTheRaces Yeeehaaa! |

@Warrac**** · 3m Matt, stop embarrassing yourself,we all know he's one of your favourites... he started easing down 2 secs,20-25yds before the line when it looked about nck-1/2L in front...ive no doubt 100% if he'd kept pushing it would have won..not being banned its an insult to its backers. |
By:
he probably agrees with you. but what can he do when his job is reliant on getting interviews from jockeys ??
he says anything they don't like, about James or anyone else, and he's getting zero interviews from jockeys, trainers or owners who are all in a big racing circle looking after each other. |
By:
Spencers had these guys in his pocket for years. ask him a question he doesn't like, ask it the wrong way, do anything he doesn't like (why were you so far back etc) and he's just walking straight past you for the next 18 months.
