Good Afternoon Guys,

I asked Mr Spreadsheet to post this, the reason being i was informed yesterday that my BF account has been closed and as a consequence, my forum rights revoked. There was no explanation, other than 'your account is closed, please contact us with questions' so this could be my last post for a while unless i can resolve this issue quickly.

I had been using Andrew.in.Sweden since April 2019 and prior to this, same ID without the dots since 2007, when i had a legal account in Sweden that was closed due to changes in Swedish law (a similar scenario to Germany a few years ago).

I have a suspicion i was grassed up that i was posting from Germany (no prizes) but there is more than one way to skin a cat. I have access to another account so it will not stop be betting, but in the meantime i will try to resolve the profile issue to continue posting.

Maybe Mr Spreadsheet and Lucky Luciano can post updates as and when (currently no entries).

On to racing.

Many thanks for the Salamanca Lad comments, very much appreciated.

After we secured the horse at the HIT sales last year, i thought if we get a win out of him, it would be a very welcome bonus, but to have 2 wins in 2 weeks is mind-blowing. He's improved for the full cup blinkers and making the running, so it's not fanciful to think he can win again. A good ride from the front by William Buick, that was the plan anyway, and at the 1f pole i thought he was going to scoot clear, but credit to the runner-up who stayed on strongly. I have a video of the WB post race interview with the team and he said the horse was 'tough' and he always felt he would win.

The Kübler stable are quite possibly the most in-form stable in UK/Ireland at the moment, 7 wins from their previous 16 runners (44%) in fact they had a double on the Kempton card after winning the opener.

I was at a company after-work BBQ so the race provided us with entertainment (Racing TV) at least for 20 minutes. Mostly Germans at the event and for a couple of the locals a chance to watch a horse race for the first time ever, including having a bet (placed via me on here) that will probably be their first and last time.

Sadly a runner in our race was fatally injured after stumbling in the home straight and jockey Grace Mcentee dislocated her Sternoclavicular joint (collarbone) that required surgery.

A superb evening for me, great company, Salamanca Lad winning and to top it off, England winning to go through to the EURO 2024 final. I will be joining the envisaged zillions of spectators at Olympia Park fan-zone/München on Sunday evening.

News of my other horse Agouti Bear (In Ireland) she's back in training and will be doing her first fast work tomorrow, so hopefully her debut run is not far off. Danny continues to be pleased with her, as does work rider Warren O'Conner (older posters will remember him on Kooyonga winning the 1992 Eclipse). If she debuts at the Curragh, i really want to be there with my daughter (i gave the share to her for Christmas, i just pay the bills).

Some decent cards today, all on turf and a late afternoon/evening meeting at Longchamp where a particular favourite of mine, Double Major is running (6.37). He needs to step up on a couple of recent runs, but his impressive win in the Prix Royal Oak last year is still fresh in my mind. The likely favourite, Shembala has finished in front of him twice this season, but it was the reverse in the Prix Chaudenay last year. Generally 5/2 with the book, i will be backing him, albeit a sensible stake.

Last year, the Superlative stakes at Newmarket (3.30) showed us how good City Of Troy was as a 2 year old, maybe Ancient Truth is this years candidate for stardom and i think he will win. Another potential sprinting star, Inisherin could win the July Cup (4.35) but both these are short enough and i will not be lumping on either.

If i have a bet of any significance it will be on Barbara Krejcikova in the Womens tennis final at Wimbledon this afternoon. Better known as a doubles player (7 titles, including 2 at Wimbledon) i think she has too much experience for her rival even though they are the same age. Both are attacking players and it could be a decent final, but it wouldn't surprise me if this was a 2-0 win. Currently odds around 1.80.

If there is a lay this afternoon, Grey Fable at Chester (4,20) is short enough in the betting (2.60) even allowing for a reasonable run in 2nd over CD LTO, albeit on heavy going and receiving 16 lb from the winner. A 21 race maiden and has a wider draw this afternoon.

Tom (The Dealer)

Good luck with Slainte Mhath at Hamilton this evening.

Second Again

Alan Potts said exactly the same in an email.

Good luck and have a nice Saturday all.

I have had issues posting until today otherwise would have responded earlier.

Many thanks for the good wishes with Salamanca Lad.

He is a kind horse, doesn't seem to have a bad bone as they say and to be part of a small syndicate and win twice now has been a dream come true.
It would be easy to say we knew but any sensible punter knows it doesn't work like that and his chance in the two races were there for all to see, to finish placed could have been expected but to win a bonus.

Extremely pleased with the rides from D Egan and W Buick and for Claire and Dan Kubler who deserve their success.

Just got home from Sandown park after watching Salamanca Lad ran a courageous race to lead, get passed and run on to win going away at the finish, we are all thrilled to bits !

Thanks guys for all your kind words

Andrew asked me to post the following earlier today but I had problems accessing the site so I post his message now
None of us were confident as this was a step up as Andrew says below but SL took it in his stride and we are immensely proud

“Good afternoon Guys,

As regular readers know, my BF forum account has been deactivated, hence Lucky Luciano is posting on my behalf.

Salamanca Lad, our syndicate horse (Lucky Luciano and Mr Spreadsheet among the owners) is going for a hat-trick at Sandown (20.30) this evening. Up to class 5 and it looks an open race. Trip, going and course shouldn't be an issue and hopefully Billy can make use of him from the front. We are hopeful, but no more, so fingers crossed.

A few of the team will be on course, including the pre-mentioned, but unfortunately the German aerospace industry needs me Emoji. Next time maybe.
Good luck and have a nice Wednesday all.”

I did not realise AIS could not post. Grateful to timberman to be considered within AIS's shadow.

Today's offering is Master Milliner in the 1.50 Goodwood. Ran reasonably well at Ascot FTO after 2 years off, next time out at Newbury drifted like a barge out to 50/1 ISP and 150/1 on here. Never ever remotely put in the race by today's rider and when mounting some sort of run immediately shoved in behind some other runners. I thought immediately that they would be targeting this race and managed another 3lb off from the h'capper. Frankly 14/1 is a miserable price for what we have seen so far but that in itself tells a story imo. E/W 1st 6 with a few books.

Thanks gents, just watched the reply and you could see right from the start that he was up for the race today, so different to LTO, can't believe the ISP and BFSP would have been worried about that drift but was busy today so just saw result on sporting life.

Received earlier this morning from Andrew

Good morning Guys,

I've asked Lucky Luciano to post on my behalf due to my forum rights being revoked; i have contacted them, but it appears there will be no let-up, obviously due to posting from Germany/Sweden (i'm actually in Linköping now, returning to München this evening).

Many thanks for the Salamanca Lad Posts, pre and post-race, very much appreciated.

Bringing up the hat-trick on Wednesday was incredible, an excellent ride from a very likeable jockey based on his post race interview video. Front running, the blinkers and tongue-tie have certainly made a difference in his recent runs.

I think he will go up 3lb to 75 on Tuesday.

After his first couple of runs, we could never have imagined he would win 3 on the spin later, we really got lucky with the buy, many syndicates don't win a race. Icing on the cake, was i won the trophy in the stable prize draw, so i get to keep it. I haven't seen it yet, i guess it's a glass bowl or similar, one of the team will pass it on to me next time i'm over that is almost certainly 2 weeks time.

Salamanca Lad is entered at Ffos Las (4.50) in a class 5 0-72 on Tuesday with Jim Crowley up and a 6lb penalty. Fingers crossed for a 4-timer.

Trusty, VWD on the selection, superb, hope you made a few bob.

Timberman, many thanks for the kind comments, it's flattering to know the thread is popular and still gets a lot of views.

I'm not going to ask Lucky Luciano to post for me on a regular basis, even though i know he doesn't mind, but as he is today, one horse i think could go well later is Puchkine in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville (3.07). Winner of 4 from 7, his only down the field run was in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2000 guineas) but even then he was only beaten 4.5L after fading in the final furlong. Rated 114 (converted) behind Mill Stream (117) but receives 4lb age allowance and won well on course LTO, albeit over slightly shorter. Well drawn in 2. Currently 8.4 on here, i will have a small win and hope that Beauvatier, a horse i've backed a few time doesn't win.

Good luck and have a nice Sunday all.
