Good evening Guys,
A short post, my syndicate horse Salamanca Lad runs in the 20.30 Leicester this evening, although i'm not there on this occasion. My next trip over is a week today for the Eclipse meeting at Sandown on Saturday. On to this evening, Salamanca Lad has top weight and a joint top RPR, but is slightly down in class and on the same mark 64 when he won at Thirsk last year. There doesn't appear to be a lot of pace, so the field could be taken along by Monks Mead and Salamanca Lad. What he finds in the final furlong, we shall see, but i would be disappointed if he wasn't placed. Good luck and have a nice evening all. PHS Thanks. After Continuous was beaten i thought i was going to make it a double with Morcar, who was well backed and turned previous race form around with the original favourite. |

Many thanks Guys, i never in my life imagined i would shout so much for a class 6 winner. An incredible experience.
Tom, i will be watching the VR for a week ![]() We thought he had a reasonable chance, he ran well LTO, the form was there and the full cup blinkers worked a treat. MrC, correct i think there's 7 there this evening. |

Well done Andrew, just goes to show how deceptive the form book can be, evidently been wanting quick ground all along.
|
|
By:
Thanks George. Exactly, he's run well on decent ground twice now.
Dan is surprised he won at Thirsk, although that form is not so good. Onwards and upwards now. ![]() |

Good afternoon Guys,
Many thanks for the Salamanca Lad WD posts, certainly a surreal moment for me watching at home. I was on cloud 9 yesterday, but for those that were on course Thursday evening it must have been amazing and WhatsApp videos support this, there's even one on X showing the team going mental. ![]() Owning a horse, even a lowly 10% is a much better experience than i expected and i can't wait for his next run. No entry yet, but we have discussed a few options. My other one, Agouti Bear (5% in my daughters name, i just pay the bills) is progressing well in her work after a recent spell back in the field and Danny likes her, hopefully she will run soon. On to this afternoon, some decent racing, although there wasn't a stand out bet, at least to my eyes. One i will back for a small win is Kinross in the G3 Chipchase stakes (Newcastle 2.04) a horse i have a lot of time for who rarely runs a bad race. Only 2 runs on the AW, but one of those was in the Futurity on this course, albeit back in 2019. Hasn't run this season so fitness is taken on trust, but has won after a break before. Currently odds of 4.0 and 1.92 for 3/TBP to retrieve the win stake. I will be laying Emily Upjohn in the G1 Pretty Polly stakes (Curragh 3.30) who seems to have lost her way in 3 previous runs and drops in trip. Changing sport to football this evening, i rarely put up selections on here, but i think Italy are under-priced @ 2.64 against Switzerland who are no mugs. I'm a layer of Italy. Good luck and have a nice Saturday all. |

Thank you ANDREW

good for you with your winner ,I would rather lay Emily for a place ,than win , we will soon find out .

Well done Andrew , hit 1.03 but a profitable lay is exactly that

Good Afternoon Guys,
Many thanks for the posts, much appreciated. A good day yesterday, although it appeared my lay of Emily Upjohn was going to lose approaching the furlong pole, she idled a bit close home, but credit to the winner who is still improving and could take a beating if she goes for the Nassau stakes later in the season. Kinross was well backed and ran his usual race, only conceding to the winner in the final 100 metres. Italy were poor in the football, but in my opinion were over-rated in this tournament anyway and Switzerland are capable on their day, so 2.64 was less than a risky lay in my eyes. On to this afternoon, group races in Ireland and France and i will be backing Zarir in the G1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. I put him up LTO, but he couldn't go the early pace and had a bit to do in the Longchamp straight, but stayed on strongly. In his penultimate race, he was only just touched off by Haya Sark (a half-decent yardstick) in the G1 Prix Ganay, form that was franked by the G1 Prix d'Ispahan, again running on, so the step up in trip will suit. Currently trading around 5.2 although liquidity is poor at the moment. I may also play 2/TBP for the stake. At the Curragh, i prefer Ambient Friendly to his main rival Los Angeles in the Irish Derby, although i will not be backing anything here, but watching with interest as it's the first chance to gauge Epsom form. Commanche Falls is a sprinter i like, but i will be laying him this afternoon (2.15). Won the race last year, but the going will be on the soft side after rain there yesterday and he runs better on good. Has to concede 10-12 lb to most of the field bar one. A risky lay, but odds of 2.74 reduce the liability. Good luck and have a nice Sunday all. |

Can somebody message The Sandwich?
14:00 Cartmel: City Derby was a lay selection and won at BFSP of 5.00. More fiddles than Dexys Midnight Runners....ffs |

Good afternoon Guys,
As i'm mega busy, a short post; my syndicate horse Salamanca Lad (the posters Lucky Luciano and Mr Spreadsheet also have shares) is running @ 18.40 Kempton this evening with William Buick on board, 3lb higher for his win LTO and top weight that may not be unsurmountable, trip will not be an issue and he ran well enough on Polytrack at Chelmsford in April. We have the well backed current favourite from SMP stable to beat, but if WB can go off in front, grab the rail and get into a nice rhythm he's in with a shout, although he is 0-4 on the AW. Unfortunately, i can't be there, although i was in London for a 3 day weekend including the Eclipse and Euro 2024 football on-screen at Sandown, more on this at the weekend. Good luck and have a nice Wednesday all. |
