I've done absolutely nothing wrong and have had all my bets, going back months, voided. Nearly £2000 winnings confiscated. I have supplied them with all the documentation they required. Unredacted bank statement, front and back of card, passport, pic of myself holding passport next to my face.

Reason for account closure

An investigation has been carried out on your account and your bets have been voided as per the following terms:
32.1        Suspicious Betting refers to where We have reasonable grounds to believe that a bet or series of bets have been placed in suspicious circumstances. Suspicious Betting shall include, but not be limited to the examples below:

32.1.1    Where the same selection or selections are used an unusual number of times (in comparison with usual trading activity) in different types of single or multiple bets.

32.1.6    Where We have reasonable grounds to suspect that Prohibited Activity has taken place (see Section [13]).

32.1.7    Where We reasonably believe that bets have been placed from a location or device other than the location or device which You claim to be using to place the Bet.

32.2        Where We believe We have reasonable grounds to act upon suspicious and / or unusual betting patterns (by comparison with usual trading activity) as defined above, We may take the following actions:

32.2.1    Request further information from You as may reasonably be required by us to investigate whether the Bet or bets constitute suspicious betting. Examples of documentation requested could be copies of identification cards, bank statements, utility bill or copy of payment cards.

32.2.2    If You do not provide us with sufficient information, We may:
•             Suspend the account and all account functionality, including, but not limited to, bet management and withdrawal of funds or close the account.
•             Perform an investigation using reasonable endeavours, including but not limited to the use of various collusion, suspicious betting, fraud and cheating detection practises which are used in the gambling industry.
•             Suspend account activity during the investigation.
•             Cancel or void all bets deemed by Us to be suspicious or activate any other policy regarding accounts as covered in Our general Terms and Conditions.

32.2.3    Where there are an inconsistent and / or unusual pattern of bets (by comparison with usual trading activity) placed on the same selection or selections over a short period of time, and where We have reasonable grounds to suspect that the bets are connected Bets, We may limit the payment of winnings in respect of those suspicious bets to the maximum payout for individual bets on any particular market or markets.

13.3.2    Multiple accounts
One person having multiple Accounts, or where there are multiple Accounts under common control, whether in the player's name or another name, which may be used for playing more than one Account at the same time, taking unfair advantage of bonuses or promotions and/or concealing the true worth, nature or pattern of bets placed by You or on Your behalf.

13.3.4    Links to restricted accounts
If we identify that Your Account is linked to a restricted account, including by address, e-mail address, device or IP address.

13.3.16  Breach of terms
If You breach these Terms and Conditions in a material or serious way, or the terms of any promotional offer or bonus, including if You have opened more than one Account to take advantage of a promotion.

13.3.18  Use of bots or automated means
Where We have reasonable grounds to suspect that a bet or a string of connected bets have been placed robotically, by automated means, or in some way other than through the account holder placing each bet manually via their account.

13.4        In the event that We suspect that a player has carried out or been involved in any of the prohibited activities outlined in this Section [13], the remedies set out in Section [15] will be available to Us.

As you have already received your net deposit back in withdrawals there is nothing due to you.   Your account has been closed permanently.

Most bookmakers have found a loophole not to pay out winnings and to obtain your data to restrict anyone with the slightest clue.

They can just close your account and steal your winnings without specifically stating what you've apparently done wrong. It's unbelievable.

By keeping the money in his account.

I don't know why punters still open online account with traditional bookmakers, the evidence is clear they will stop you winning.

You are going to have to go to court a bookmaker can not void a bet after the result is known.

If they were unhappy with the bets you were placing then why has it taken so long would they have voided the bets had they lost?

You will get your money in the long run if what you state is true.

Story in the RP last week, regarding an owner being in the same situation with Quinnbet for a similar sum, so i presume many others with those scumbags may well be in the same boat. Could try getting in touch with the owner concerned, i presume there are others as well, maybe find out on twitter, and maybe some sort of group action?

From the above post as it's only for subscribers.......

An owner says he is likely to quit his involvement in racing after bookmaker Quinnbet refused to pay him more than £3,000 in winnings due to claims that shared accounts were used to circumvent risk management practices to place multiple bets over a period of months.

Rick Bardsley, who is a shareholder in four horses, deposited £200 with Quinnbet on October 11, 2022 having signed up to the bookmaker via an affiliate link from a tipping service.

Also just checked Companies House, there's an application to strike them off the register made mid September, so potentially they have liquidity problems etc, or they are planning to run with all the cash, doesn't look good from any angle.

A London-based Irish businessman, Val Flynn, formerly involved in the aviation sector, has joined the board of QuinnBet, the online betting operation set up by Seán Quinn in 2017.

Company filings show that Mr Quinn, and his son Seán jnr, resigned as directors from the regulated business in May of this year.

Also in May, new shares were issued to one of Mr Quinn's daughters, Brenda Quinn, as well as to the children of Seán Quinn jnr, with the latter shares being held in trust.

Accounts for the business are abridged, and give no information as to turnover, profitability or any loans received by the business. Last year Mr Quinn snr said in a media interview that the business had made a profit in its first six months.

QuinnBet said at the time of its launch that the venture was being funded by Mr Quinn snr, but that he was not involved in its operation. His son was the then chief executive.

Mr Flynn (62) joined the boards of Quinnb Sports Ltd and an associated company, Belbridge Consultancy Ltd, last month, according to filings lodged recently in the Companies Office.

Aircraft leasing
Mr Flynn is a former shareholder in Shannon-based Aldus Aviation Ltd, which was bought in 2016 by Nordic Aviation Capital, the world’s biggest independently owned regional aircraft leasing company.

Both Quinnb Sports and Belbridge are associated with the QuinnBet online venture, which offers betting on sports fixtures as well as an “online casino” and other gambling activities including “QuinnLotto”.

Customers can make payments to QuinnBet by Visa or Mastercard or via online e-money transfer services Neteller or Skrill, according to its website.

Mr Quinn was at one stage the sole owner of Quinnb, which he held by way of Belbridge. However, new shares were issued in May, with 163 ordinary €1 shares going to the children of Seán Quinn jnr, and 35 ordinary €1 shares going to Brenda Quinn.

Mr Quinn snr now owns 200,000 non-voting ordinary €0.001 shares, according to the latest filed annual return, with Belbridge no longer having an interest.

This indicates that Mr Quinn now owns just over half of the company, but has no voting rights. It is not known if Belbridge is still linked to QuinnBet. A request for a comment from QuinnBet met with no response.

According to its website, QuinnBet is partnered with sportsbook and casino platform providers FSB Technology (UK), “which is fully licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and in Ireland under the Betting (Amendment) Act 2015”.

Certificates
When it was being launched, QuinnBet said that Mr Quinn jnr, Mr Quinn snr's son-in-law Stephen Kelly, and another then director, Séamus McMahon, had received certificates of personal fitness to run a bookmaking business. Mr McMahon is related to Seán Quinn snr.

A law passed in 2015 required that all officers of companies licensed as bookmakers should have to have the necessary certificates.

Mr Quinn was the founder of the Quinn Group and was one of Ireland’s richest business figures before high-risk investments by him in Anglo Irish Bank contributed to the collapse of the group, and the bank.

Quinnb Sports and Belbridge both have their registered offices in the Connell Building, Main Street, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan.

As well as Mr Flynn, the other directors of the two companies are Mr Kelly, the husband of Mr Quinn's daughter Aoife, and Denis Kelly, who has an address in Ballyconnell.

Sean Quinn's children haven't repaid cent of €440m owed to taxpayer.............Valerie Hanley
05/12/2022

Almost half a billion euro owed by cement tycoon Séan Quinn's five children to the Irish taxpayer remains unpaid.

The State has managed to claw back €5m a year in rental payments from a multimillion-euro technology park located in the heart of India's silicon valley - which was once owned by the Quinn family through a maze of international companies.

But sources confirmed this weekend that despite the fact that a €440m judgment was secured against the businessman's children three years ago, not a cent has yet been paid back to the State.

A judgment of €88m was secured against each of Cavan-based Quinn's children, Seán Jr, Ciara, Colette, Aoife and Brenda, following a legal battle between the family and the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC), formerly Anglo Irish Bank.

A source familiar with the process said: 'The judgments against each of the children has never been paid and it probably never will.'

The IBRC took over the controversial Anglo Irish Bank after the so-called 'bad bank' was nationalised in 2009.

The Quinn children initiated legal action in 2011 against the IBRC when the bank sought repayment of loans totalling €2.89bn given by the former Anglo Irish Bank to the Quinn group of companies.

Up to €2.34bn of these massive loans was used to buy shares in the doomed bank through a process called contracts for difference (CFDs). Buying CFDs is a high-risk way of playing the stock market because it means you are betting on the future price of a share as opposed to its current market rate.

And as the bank share price began to fail, it emerged that Ireland's former wealthiest man had acquired a 25% shareholding in Anglo Irish Bank through CFDs.

As the bank's share price dropped, Séan Quinn continued to bet on it going up and, as a result, loans were given by the bank to help cover the then-billionaire's losses. These loans were given to companies within the Quinn business group after the businessman's children signed personal guarantees for the loans.

They then tried to sue the bank on the basis that these documents were signed under the undue influence of their father and without independent legal advice.
In a counter-claim, the bank said there had been an attempt to move €455m worth of assets off the company books so this half-a billion euro portfolio of properties located in Moscow, Prague, Kyiv, India, and elsewhere could never be used to settle debts.

After a protracted legal battle, a multimillion-euro technology park that was once part of the Quinn property empire was acquired by the Irish State. Located in the financial district of Hyderabad, Q City is a 245,000sq.ft office development set on 2,500 square yards. It was transferred into Irish State ownership in 2019 after India's equivalent of the Criminal Assets Bureau, the Enforcement Directorate, became involved.

t seized properties there after a scam was uncovered to illegally move €10m out of India by supposedly buying non-existent computer software.

Séan Quinn was declared bankrupt in 2012. He was discharged from bankruptcy three years later and founded a betting company with his son called Quinnbet. Shares in this company are ultimately owned by his four daughters and his son.

This week it emerged the online gambling company paid a near €1.7m dividend last year as it made a €2.2m profit. The dividend was paid by the company behind QuinnBet - Belbridge Consultancy - to a parent company, Quinnb Sports, which in turn paid a €1.5m dividend to its shareholders.

Quinnb Sports' shareholders are primarily companies whose directors include several Quinn family members, filings at the Companies Registration Office show. When contacted this weekend, Stephen Kelly, husband to Séan Quinn's daughter Aoife and who is listed as managing director of Quinnbet on his Linkedin page, said: 'There's going to be no comment and I'd appreciate it if you didn't ring me again.'

Its the modern way. If you win demand more and more information and refuse to payout.

One bookmaker even has arbitrage prohibited. A few say if you are not a 'recreational' user it is prohibited.

Not sure if this has ever been tested in court. Gambling Commission does not seem interested.

It was these loans that led to Sean Quinn losing his Quinn Group, and to Anglo seeking to gain control of the international property portfolio. The loans were linked to Quinn’s ultra-high risk investment in Anglo shares by way of so-called contracts for difference or CFDs. This high-risk investment brought about not just the collapse of Quinn’s business empire, it also brought about the collapse of Anglo Irish Bank.
