Millyupdahilly, 1pt EW @ 20-1 (4 PLACES)
Millyupdahilly probably shaped better than the bare result over C/D just over two weeks ago when she was a bit keen and didn't have the easiest of trips round, and then didn't help herself or her jockey by hanging left up the straight, but it was only inside the last half-furlong that she dropped out of the places and finished fifth. Hopefully that wasn't a sign of temperament and the first-time cheekpieces this evening can help to keep her focused. The latest start was just her second start on the AW and for her current yard, so she might be open to a bit of improvement. Imperial Khan, 1pt EW @ 33-1, 8.15 Newcastle This is a bit risky with Imperial Khan returning from nearly five months off against some bang in-form rivals but hopefully he will be up to winning races for his new yard at some point. He failed to win in nine starts for David O'Meara, but he ran some fair races in defeat, including at Hamilton in July when finishing third against his elders with a subsequent winner in second, and with Kraken Power (who also runs here and admittedly is in much better form now) behind him in fifth. He probably wasn't disgraced on his stable debut when last seen over 5f at Pontefract in September, given he raced prominently on the outer in a race where the principals were towards the rear early. |

Cheers chaps.
Could have done with that one, oh well, the struggle goes on. Millyupdahilly was caught a little wide, but even allowing for that, it was disappointing that she didn't find much up the straight. Running P/L: -0.3 pts |

King Of Bavaria, 1pt each-way @ 35-1, 2.26 Lingfield
King Of Bavaria posted a couple of good efforts off a 101-rating last season in handicaps against his elders when making the frame at the Curragh (6f) and Navan (5f). He was then a little disappointing in a 6f Group 3 back at the Curragh on what turned out to be his final start for Aidan O'Brien. He made an encouraging start for Mick Appleby when a running-on fourth over 5f at Southwell in a 0-103 at Southwell five weeks ago. He's not well in here on adjusted figures with a few of these and his yard have a much more obvious contender in Annaf, but he's entitled to come on for that stable debut, while the return to 6f and application of a tongue-tie may help, so hopefully he can be a frame contender at decent odds. Kells, 1pt EW @ 16-1, 3.36 Lingfield Kells is still a maiden after 19 starts, which isn't good given he's previously been trained by Aidan O'Brien, Jessica Harrington and Mick Appleby, but he didn't shape too badly following a 51-day break at Wolverhampton last time. He drops in grade today, while the step back up in trip to 10f should help and Rossa Ryan, who was on board last time, retains the ride. Sid's Annie, 1pt EW @ 14-1, 8.00 Kempton Sid's Annie hadn't been in much form prior to her latest start, but her mark has fallen as a result, and there was strong market support for her last time over a mile at Southwell when she ran a better race, beaten under 3 lengths into fourth, in admittedly what was just a 5-runner fillies' handicap. She left the impression there that a stiffer test may suit nowadays, and there is encourgament in her pedigree for longer trips, so while she does have to prove her stamina for 11f, she makes some appeal at the prices back at a track she has won at previously, with Jamie Spencer booked (4-13 for yard last 5 seasons, +9). |

I've keeping an eye on Sid's Annie. Think she needs a strong jockey so Spencer is interesting jockey for her.

Brian, jockey change as Trevor Whelan was in the plate. She had a nice trip round the inner and was delivered with a timely challenge but could only manage third place, without convincing stamina-wise on this 3f step up in trip.
King Of Bavaria didn't have the most efficient of trips given he was posted three-wide and then was a bit inconvenienced when Diligent Harry hung across the track, so wasn't disgraced in not being beaten that far for a place, albeit in a crowd scene at the finish. He's had a wind-op, wore a tongue-tie today and did seem to carry his head at a bit of an angle under pressure, so it remains to be seen which way he goes from here, but it will be interesting to see what Mick Appleby can do with him back on turf. I was hoping to see some market support for Kells but he was friendless in the betting. He raced keenly in front and weakened out of it once headed over a furlong out. Running P/L: -2.5 pts |

I thought the same about Sid's Annie George.

Good luck tomorrow, Brian
DG, presume you got 4 places for Fast Flo, think she went off around 7-1 in the 4TP market on here. Probably won't be any selections tomorrow with no domestic Flat racing, so that will leave me 72 days from Monday. |

Democracy Dilemma, 1pt EW @ 14-1, 6.30 Wolverhampton
It didn't look a bad effort last time at this track from Democracy Dilemma when stepped up in trip to 7f considering how keenly he raced and having faced pace pressure before dropping to third inside the last half-furlong. So given that latest evidence would suggest he'll stay 7f if settling better, it's debateable whether this drop back to 5f in a better race is ideal, but a chance is taken at the odds on him as this promises to be a strongly-run event with both Huberts Dream and Dickieburd potential pace-setters. Rossa Ryan rides him for the first time this evening and hopefully he doesn't get into a battle for the lead, so it will be interesting to see how this pans out, but granted a reasonably efficient trip, a decent run at a double-figure price wouldn't surprise. Further Measure, 1pt EW @ 25-1, 7.00 Wolverhampton (4 PLACES) It looked a mark-up run at this track last winter by Further Measure when finishing fourth over the extended 9f trip, admittedly when first-time blinkers might have played a part. He has had a few chances since at other tracks and run okay on occasions without managing to win, and I selected him last time returned to this course when he had the advantage of Billy Loughnane's 7lb claim, and he ran alright to finish fourth, an effort that looks better now in light of the winner War In Heaven having won twice easily since. Further Measure drops back to the stretch-mile trip this evening and it's not sure to suit nowadays, even though he won over a mile at Chelmsford off a 10lb higher mark in 2021, and he doesn't Billy Loughnane's valuable claim this time, but at a chance is taken at the odds with four places on offer given time has shown that he faced a difficult task on his latest start when he tried to match strides with War In Heaven. |

Thanks for the positive comments.
Luckily they decided to take a lead on Huberts Dream, which meant DD didn't become embroiled in a speed duel, and he saw it out well for a decisive victory. The drop in trip was a concern for Further Measure, and in a race where it paid to be ridden handily, he finished off well from mid-div but was never a threat to the principals.
