Sandown is the biggest mess, with one post for the hurdles and the other for chases.
By:
there's no excuse for it...
none whatsoever. |
By:
That ended years ago at Sandown. They move the post for each race now.

F37 penalty is 28 days unless it is his 2nd offence. If they think it is "wilful" they refer it to BHA Disciplinary Panel
By:
I thought the horse had gone wrong as well
By:
it's not wilful, he's just a moron
By:
it cant be difficult to remember first post or second post at Sandown and others. not rocket science.
By:
well 2 weeks / 4 weeks / 3 months doesn't matter, punters on the fav lost and there's not alot they can do unless a bookie throws a concession

if he was an aeroplane pilot instead of a race horse pilot he,s just missed the runaway by 200 yds decked a 147 and put 300 passengers in danger of death ,

The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why Mark Crehan, the rider of AERION POWER (IRE), which
finished second, beaten by a neck, had appeared to stop riding half a furlong out. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found he had mistaken the ½ furlong marker for the winning post and as such had stopped riding prematurely. Crehan was found in breach of Rule (F)37 and guilty of failing to ride out on a horse that would have finished first and was suspended for 28 days. |

Best jockey coaches in the world says Perham, but we never tell them where the winning post is.
By:
the jock on one going past alerted him with his laughing
By:
if you dont think crehan is absolutely boiling with rage at his stupidity, you are an even bigger fool. hes just got himself going again and has ridden for a few trainers, and has now, potentially, buggered everything. hes an affable geezer, and those who complain that they were on the jolly would only have done it in on the next.

By:
The jockey coach on ATR, who himself was bog average, reeling off the names of other mostly bog standard ex jockeys turned coaches, as though they were all Frankie Dettori's in their day.
By:
Three grand matched at 1.01. Crehan's going to lose a hell of a lot more than that at this time of year. (Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but a fortnight off for a 3 lb claimer in July is a lot of rides and win percentages.)

i think i heard Enzo is in the studio...???
has he said anything other than 'we need to put an arm around him coz it will be tough for him over the next few days'... someone on another thread said Enzo slated a jockey in america last night which is why i am asking. |
By:
That's Enzos mo, just like Chapman. UK or Irish race and no jockey is criticised but a US race and its criticism central.

Whats the point of "half furlong" poles. They are only on a few courses and don't help anyone. screaming from beneaththewaves 17 Jul 21 18:51 Why stick a half-furlong pole there in the first place? ---------------- AGREED -Always thought the same... It is just some Egotistical Racecourses thinking ... We will do something different. ![]() Surprised that the BHA Course Inspectorate have NOT brought this up - and demanded UNIFORMITY at ALL Racecourses. |

By:
there is one of them every 2 months at the BHA Happy.

By:

By:
Curious to know how a jockey who has ridden at the course many times before including twice this evening then suddenly forgets where the winning line is?
By:
to be fair to Crehan anyone that backed it could have been out & halfway up the road at 1.01 ...
By:
if thats not proof that racing isnt bent i dont know what is

a good few years ago. He's made a genuine mistake. Did everything right up till then, got the lead bagged the rail.Still learning. Feel for his backers aswell. |
