Sandown is the biggest mess, with one post for the hurdles and the other for chases.

F37 penalty is 28 days unless it is his 2nd offence. If they think it is "wilful" they refer it to BHA Disciplinary Panel

well 2 weeks / 4 weeks / 3 months doesn't matter, punters on the fav lost and there's not alot they can do unless a bookie throws a concession

The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why Mark Crehan, the rider of AERION POWER (IRE), which
finished second, beaten by a neck, had appeared to stop riding half a furlong out. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found he had mistaken the ½ furlong marker for the winning post and as such had stopped riding prematurely. Crehan was found in breach of Rule (F)37 and guilty of failing to ride out on a horse that would have finished first and was suspended for 28 days. |

if you dont think crehan is absolutely boiling with rage at his stupidity, you are an even bigger fool. hes just got himself going again and has ridden for a few trainers, and has now, potentially, buggered everything. hes an affable geezer, and those who complain that they were on the jolly would only have done it in on the next.

The jockey coach on ATR, who himself was bog average, reeling off the names of other mostly bog standard ex jockeys turned coaches, as though they were all Frankie Dettori's in their day.

Three grand matched at 1.01. Crehan's going to lose a hell of a lot more than that at this time of year. (Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but a fortnight off for a 3 lb claimer in July is a lot of rides and win percentages.)

That's Enzos mo, just like Chapman. UK or Irish race and no jockey is criticised but a US race and its criticism central.

Whats the point of "half furlong" poles. They are only on a few courses and don't help anyone. screaming from beneaththewaves 17 Jul 21 18:51 Why stick a half-furlong pole there in the first place? ---------------- AGREED -Always thought the same... not as bad as Central House's jockey in Ireland
a good few years ago. He's made a genuine mistake. Did everything right up till then,got the lead bagged the rail.Still learning. Feel for his backers aswell. |
