According to nick luck today, as Elliott is just suspended and not license revoked Elliott is free to work in the yard and assist in the training...
By:
Thanks for clarifying desperado ; will be interesting to see how the bha view the distinction.
By:
Hes banned for 6 months, but can still help with training?
So effectively.....he aint banned ![]() Joke!!! |
By:
I have said it before I think O'Leary going along to support him was massive. Any threats of legal action and the huge costs that would involve scared the IRHB into the lightest possible sentence where absolutely nothing has changed.
By:
What exactly did he tweet yesterday please?
By:
the last line was
i,ll be around in yard to assist and help dropped within the hour |
By:
Elliot probably cant believe his luck i think he has got away very lightly.

What exactly did he tweet yesterday please?
-------------------------------------- Gordon Elliott @gelliott_racing · 1h Gordon Elliott Racing is pleased to confirm the Racing Post story that Denise Foster will take over the licence at Cullentra Stables during the period of Gordon Elliott’s suspension. Denise is vastly experienced and her appointment is great news for staff and owners |

Move on, nothing to see here. I hope his horses win all the races they are fancied to win for the stable lads and lasses (I hope they get to share all the prize monies won). Much, much worse things happen on the track on a regular basis eg beating the pants of a horse trying to win; doping; Sheikh Mohammed; dodgy money; bloodstock; etc.
By:
I meant off the course too.
By:
If the public perception is that those in racing have closed ranks and provided an easy out for Elliott then this judgement will only come back and bite them.
By:
if the argument goes losing envoi etc is punishment enough and yard shouldnt lose chance of chelt runners
the bar has been set so how do you punish yards lots in the north who can only dream of a chelt runner, best rated horses around a 100,if they transgress do you make the fines bigger ,suspension longer |
By:
Gordon is getting boozed up in his bar laughing his balls off
Getting bets down on the pikey fight for tonight in the stable courtyard He loves his harses dough |
By:
I don't mind GE he seems to be a good trainer but what he did was wrong. It was/is hugely damaging for racing but how can this be a punishment? The girl who looked after Envoi Allen has been been punished but GE hasn't. Even those on here who clearly couldn't give a monkey's for respecting horses couldn't have believed he has gotten away with it. Perhaps we will see a picture of Elliott on O'Leary's dead horse with the headlines 'Fly Ryanair'.

By:
Basically Elliott is really banned and will still be running the yard, but not go racing and Sneezy will be the face. Bit of joke sentence really
By:
Apparently IHRB may impose further conditions today.
By:
isn't
By:
Today is the last day to transfer Cheltenham runners to other trainers. Do we know if Sneezy's signed on the dotted line yet?
By:
Perhaps they are going to return the 15k. It was an oversight. Bit harsh on a millionaire with lawyers.
By:
If the judgement and punishment are acceptable to the stable lads/lasses, the owners at Cullentra stable that's all that matters. These are the people directly affected the most; outsiders may not agree, such is life.
Horseracing is only a minority sport. And, no body died! |
By:
The BHA have well and truly naused this up, not for acting, but for thinking that the measures they took would be enough to alleviate the problem that they so wanted to avoid namely, the festival being open to heavy criticism, just as it was last year.
They thought that the horses would be moved to other yards, they didn't envisage a scenario where a number festival horses would remain and Elliott would still be to all intents and purposes the trainer. So,the BHA have failed by not covering all bases and the festival will suffer as a consequence with tghe PR surrounding it highly negative. The MSM will have a field day. |
By:
Too right.
GE's punishment apart from the fine is not to show his face on race day. Racing's problem is that they all live in a bubble - most don't even have relationships outside of racing. |
By:
Agree with all that Duffy.
Elliott will have winners at the festival for sure and that will not look very good. Suspended, yet carries on as normal with him choosing not to go racing, rather than being banned for 6 months |
By:
Do you really think the stable staff will vote for unemployment? You are such an idiot Impossible, you have your wish so there is nothing for you to see here.
By:
Imp completely missing the point of the bigger picture.
Thinks its nothing to do with us,and nothing to do with those that have the power to stop our sport. Well its everything to do with anyone who cares about the welfare of animals and the integrity of the sport, and how the racing authorities react to cases like this one. |
By:
Why do not I hear calls for National Hunt Racing (NHR) to be banned despite regular injuries and deaths to horses arising from their exertions on the tracks? NHR has a disproportional injury and deaths rates to the Flat. Can NHR be called a sport given the risks and dangers to the horses?
Live horses returning dead or injured. How can anyone reconcile that? NHR a sport? Surely not. |
By:
think they have to send the live ones to stand a chance of winning a race

Perhaps we will see a picture of Elliott on O'Leary's dead horse with the headlines 'Fly Ryanair So removing Envoi Allen from his yard is in no way punishing Elliot? Really? Removing potentially the best NH horse in training and placing him with a rival trainer, i would have thought that will hurt him a lot. |

----------------------------- According to the Irish Field dated yesterday she takes over on Monday which I assume is today so the horses should be ok to run. https://www.theirishfield.ie/foster-honoured-to-take-over-elliott-yard-from-monday-607203/?fbclid=IwAR2NqUfzKyrYeqcuvNGIt44GNSrj66bqmFHIbKBx7nh7SYCiWku6uJe_5jQ |

Cheltenham Festival fancy Galvin moves to Ian Ferguson from Gordon Elliott yard
Another bullet removed from the barrel. |
By:
Laying, no I don't think it is. GE is apparently a very rich, young man who will have many more opportunities. The lass who looked after him won't. She is who has been punished, not Elliott. All this rubbish about trainers loving their horses is as nothing compared to the grooms. The trainer may have 200 horses in his yard whereas the groom has only a couple. Work it out. I hope the owners of Envoi Allen make sure his ex groom is looked after but it will not be the same, not by a long way.
By:
So Gordon Elliot will be able to train from his yard, go racing should he choose and spend the close season getting ready for the 21/22 season.
Then take over the license again just as the NH season gets into full gear. Racing's critics will have a field day with that. |

denise 100% losers since she took over, terrible stable form
