Please note that, in the short term, ATR streams will not achieve the same latency of the streams offered by RTV.
ach well at least we will get the rtv speeds soon then |

so after 6 months of torture, on the day they MAY have found a fix is the day they decide to tell us theres a problem ?!?!?!?!?!

Dubai racing forthwith. Streaming rights via SIS (same as UK greyhounds... not via RMG or ATR)... which means .5s delay and rock solid picture
By:
SIS had the rights before ATR
They changed 2 years ago and instantly speeded up Until flash was eliminated and we found ourselves where were are now. |
By:
Dusty, the Flash boat sailed when Adobe dropped it
Regardless, I'm just putting it out there that UAE racing is the level playing field you want. It's 0.5s delay (after it's reached the UK). I don't know the delay from racetrack to UK, but anyone would have to get on a plane and risk being jailed in a hovel to get ahead |
By:
Last year, SIS were not fast streaming the stuff they have rights for, so this is new
By:
I dont doubt that flash decom had nowt to do with the streaming rights, just that it had a knock on effect.
Whether a technology exists and whether an inclination exist are two seperate things. |
By:
aye theres a jebel ali big dish feed and its only a nats whisker ahead of befair video, same feeds have been 7 seconds in front in the past
By:
Flash was ~ 1s
This new streaming tech is 0.5s I don't know about satellite feeds because there may be content uplinked locally in the UAE as well as the Betting Shop stuff in the UK Anything uplinked to the bird in the UK will be slower than BLV |
By:
This is progress. Tell me that BLV is not playable or that the pic is unstable. Liquidity crap at the mo, so it's not really playable for that reason, but the bigger meetings will be OK and liquidity will improve once folk know they're not being mugged
By:
Sorry Im not following BC
What are you saying, that the technology exists to improve BLV or that its going to be improved? |

Dubai racing forthwith. Streaming rights via SIS (same as UK greyhounds... not via RMG or ATR)... which means .5s delay and rock solid picture But it states in the update at top of page that "ATR are working to implement a fix asap" |

Dusty, the Flash boat sailed when Adobe dropped it Regardless, I'm just putting it out there that UAE racing is the level playing field you want. It's 0.5s delay imo sadly this bit tells me available but not used |
By:
if i had to guess this is where we are
Dubai = stupid money available can pay any price UK = poor and wealth-less, cant even afford the deposit ![]() |
By:
Big Cat is correct. SIS have the contract to UAE racing and they are using the same low latency streaming company that RTV are using - https://phenixrts.com/en-us/ I have tried to contact SIS a couple of times over the past few weeks to see at what stage they are at but they haven't replied. It may not be at the 0.5 second stage yet but it's certainly playable and as BC says, should be a level playing field.
Certainly worth people having a look. Would you rather play a fair in running market or an ATR track with the delay and other issues we've had for the past 5 months? Granted they may have finally stabilised the stream. If liquidity did move it would help put pressure onto ATR to speed up their product. Certainly worth letting people know. |
By:
Would the costs really differ that much? Surely Betfair should be using the same as UAE then
By:
SIS have the rights for UAE and stream direct via a Service Provider that employs 0.5s tech
I believe RMG streaming is via a 3rs party which adds delay to the same 0.5s tech ATR use legacy streaming tech |
By:
James, BF are the customer, they are not the one's streaming. When you click on 'watch live', the request goes to the right's holder and the right's holder does the streaming
By:
Anyway, nuf said. Playing UAE should be safe (no being mugged) and stable pic
By:
BC - so RMG are using Cobain, i guess this is where the extra 0.5 second comes from. Do you know why at the trial the pictures were 0.5 and are not now? I've never had a straight answer.
By:
I've heard RMG go via Cobain (extra .5s or more), but don't know this myself
By:
thanks for the info interesting stuff
By:
What we do know, is that whilst RMG streaming is fairly quick, BLV is somewhere down the food-chain
By:
My posts have no ulterior motive btw
As hard as that might be to believe I play UAE when liquidity is OK. So this winter should be good |
By:
i have been looking at a few of the bookie streams lately and where with RTV they are all using the same pic with the same graphics, ATR tracks they all seem to have a different format with differing graphics, betfairs always been a touch faster in fairness (i aint bigging up betfair saying that) they all need to be better obv...
By:
Where are these UAE available pics please?
By:
Wes - Jebel Ali on BLV is now finished, but it bodes well for the Meydan season upcoming.
By:
i can back em up that BLV good, as i say i had the sattelite feed today and it was no more than 0.2 ahead, in the past had been upto 7 seconds!!!
By:
ok thanks bootman, will have a look next time
By:
Well its good to see theres a tangible product, whether that materialises into a UK product offering remains to be seen.
Given the previous I remain cynical. |
By:
From that company's website on IR betting-
Delays also create potential for fraud and arbitrage But will they listen? |
By:
Their website isnt composed of BF users is it?
'Conventional streaming can result in frustrating user experience from delays and spoilers' ![]() |
By:
Obvs they're positioning themselves as the solution to the above.
By:
You seem to have gone from poacher to gamekeeper dusty.
By:
How you mean wes?
. https://www.sis.tv/news/sis-chooses-phenix-to-optimise-live-content-streaming/ When did it start to become hard IR while lock down suggests nobody is supposed to be on course again? This was dated 3rd June Hmmmmmmmmm? |
By:
i knew sis provided/had rights for RTV
who provides/has rights for ATR at the moment? |
By:
ah nothing dusty, take no notice
![]() |
By:
I don't think SIS have any contracts in the UK, Racetech do all the groundwork at UK tracks. SIS do have the contract in Ireland and the UAE.
By:
There is a product from SIS which is 2 channels and covers all RTV tracks i think
