Tbf, it was RTV who touted this 0.5 secs behind live claim when they brought out their questionnaire last year & repeated claim this in their focus group meetings. They didnt say the channel would be that speed though did they wes?

My understanding was that all platforms would be the same speed.

pablo...

0.5 secs behind live could be supplied NOW...

and could have been supplied since June 2nd...

all this 'give them a chance and be patient' stuff has ran it's course and folk have woken up to the endless excuses.

RTV used to be sub 1s (0.7s from memory) behind live but it gradually slowed before HD was released.
Id be amazed if HD could be delivered under a second behind live. I always interpreted it all to be about streaming.

People include BF in the equation because its them who offer IR betting interface....and take a sliding scale of PC that increases the more likely the user is of obtaining an advantage
By:

When: 16 Oct 20 11:48
Tbf james, nobody knows what BF are saying to the picture providers.

I doubt that they are demanding slower pics to boost their IR product tbh.
By:

and tbf to you wes, I can't see anywhere where anyone has said 'they are demanding slower pics to boost their IR product' TBH
By:

When: 16 Oct 20 11:52
didn't you say they're both to blame?
By:
jamesdean
When: 16 Oct 20 11:54
yes and they are imo

How does both being to blame equal to "they are demanding slower pics to boost their IR product"  iyo?
By:

the point is, the pictures are not in their control

A blanl screen is better than this stop starter stutter filth - it wont even run for more than 2 seconds without a stutter. This is not good for eyes or health

the intention is clearly to kill off in running...

and what a marvellous job thay are doing...

and if RTV continues to mess around with picture speeds then that will only bring it's death forward...

and bang goes lots and lots of RTV subscribers.

their choice tho.

Betfair should be telling ATR to stick their contract where the sun don't shine and not offer ATR tracks for in running purposes...

i for one wouldn't miss it.
By:
dustybin
When: 16 Oct 20 14:30
Im curious why BF's official line regarding BFLV for RTV tracks asserts something tangibly false.
That is really worrying
By:
jamesdean
When: 16 Oct 20 14:33
you wonder how long it would take the providers to fix their product if betfair stop paying them.
Reckon it would be fixed in no time personally

same wth betfair and rtv, no way rtv would take this long to fix something they had working in feb if betfair started with holding payments
until it was fixed
By:
HappyHibby
When: 16 Oct 20 14:35
well if RTV BLV is now 0.9 secs behind 'live' system99 says Redcar is between 1 sec and 1.5 secs...

i know who i believe.

and Chelmsford last night...??

Haydock today...???

don't believe a word of the 0.9 secs nonsense.
By:

i totally agree james...

if Betfair pulled the plug on ATR tracks it would surely leave a big hole in ATR's financial position...

the only way you negotiate is to say you will walk away...

you don't do it by accepting the utter filth you are dished up on a daily basis ffs...!!!
By:
jamesdean
When: 16 Oct 20 14:40
thats one of the reasons I say betfair are as much To blame as the providers hibby, they put up with it

The big problem with ATR now skysportsracing is in running is NOT part of it's business model, picture speed has no real bearing to them and their TV channel, never has...
By:
HappyHibby
When: 16 Oct 20 14:51
i agree james...

you don't accept the filth that is dished up to you on a daily basis ffs...!!!

i'd tell them to stick it and stop in running on ATR tracks immediately...

it's so obvious it's incredibly strange it hasn't already happened tbh.

serving up nowt is better than serving up a shockingly bad product...

why Betfair can't see what damage this is doing is beyond me.
By:
jamesdean
When: 16 Oct 20 14:51
surely when betfair and atr/sky negotiate their contracts for the video service, Betfair make sure speed is of high importance

JD , when i spoke to someone at betfair, they told me they are kind of in a position to take what is offered and if you don't like it , no worries, you don't have to stream our pics or pay us for the privilege  .

there are probably 100 times more people that just bet and watch and don't give a sh!t about in running betting , so they just watch the stream with maximum delay but smooth .

what can betfair do apart from ask them to fix it ?
By:

When: 16 Oct 20 14:53
Bf have no choice but to accept what they have - they actually use the video themselves to suspend and put it inplay - which beggers belief.

system99...

picture speed is not the main issue with ATR BLV right at this moment tbh...

it's one of the issues of course...

but not the main one...

but both issues are making in running moribund (certainly for ATR tracks as far as i'm concerned).
