As inferred above in my earlier comments, for lots of reasons, I'm leaning heavily away from a paid for fast-pix theory
It's not like the old days when all the pix went via SIS and then direct to the bookies and dodgy dishes in back gardens Who knows which partners of RTV are legitimate recipients of the raw feeds; I'm guessing there are numerous Callers aside, there's probably lots of players with visibility of the raw pictures. The trial was staggeringly stupid. RTV probably encountered a subsequent stumbling block they hadn't foreseen. Who knows if they'll come up with a workaround, but it seems increasingly unlikely. One thing's for sure RTV (the organisation) would not knowingly sell a secretive fast-pix service. That's backstreet small-time business and nonsense when given consideration |
|
By:
Absolute nonsense again bigcat. Your excuses for rtv just get worse and more blatant every time.
There is no subsequent stumbling block, it can and has been done. Nothing you say is going to change that despite all your efforts. Youre now going down as a wind up merchant/rtv lv apologist with 99.9% ulterior motives |
|
By:
I don't believe RTV are selling a fast pic service, but I do believe people with access to the fast pics working on the supply and production of the pictures or other associates may be betting in-running.
|
|
By:
I don't have any relationship with RTV whatsoever
I do have knowledge of streaming to a mass audience. I do know that it makes absolutely no sense for a rights holder to engineer a service worth pennies (in the grand scheme of things). It could make some sense for an individual to fraudulently do so, like has happened before elsewhere Not every post in forum life has ulterior, selfish or conceited intent. Pardon moi for a bit of intelligent guessing rather than your fantastical equivalent |

With respect every posy youve made on this thread (the only thread youve posted on in your 20 years on here funnily enough)
has been making excuses for rtv tech side of live video and adding potential stumbling blocks for them. I agree jacks post is on the money. Doubt anyone has said or thought it was rtv legitimately selling on the faster product. Ofc it's a rogue or two within taking advantage, probably playing off the fast pics themselves. No way it's rtv as a company |
|
By:
Ultimately, we all have our place in the food-chain and we'd all like that place to be higher up
RTV showed us what we could've won and some will understandably never forget it. If only TRP/ATR whoever they are showed an interest in technology widely available. It's them who get my goat But then, I'm conscious that intelligent discussion on here is met with blind paranoia, cynicism, xenophobia, you name it; a side-effect of gambling every day, no doubt |

Not every post in forum life has ulterior, selfish or conceited intent. Pardon moi for a bit of intelligent guessing rather than your fantastical equivalent That 'fantastical equivalent' you mention is the same one you just said was intelligent by jack as that is what I and others think is what is happening, not RTV bosses selling elsewhere. |

By:
James, get over the 20 year thing ffs. Dear me
If you think a 'rogue or two' can effect the markets so obviously, you're wrong. It takes more than that. The raw pics probably go far and wide these days |
|
By:
ofc it takes more than 1 or 2 playing but yes agreed, as you say, the raw pics go far and wide.
It will be one or 2 with access to the faster pics passing them on to a small handful but a small enough handful to make a huge difference You agree the that there's some playing off a faster feed at least and I don't mean drones or a facetimer stuck in a field somewhere |
|
By:
I think it's a combination of everything. Callers, drones, employees at the track, in production, in and around galleries, employees at 3rd party partner companies, employees at the ISP's who deliver the content, the list goes on
'The game' has not changed as such, the goal posts just keep moving |

time delay = distance travelled/c + time taken for adding graphics
so if pictures travel extra distance to the rtv studio have graphics added (no doubt what the bookmakers want) before being sent to the end user, then you will end up with slower pictures, the raw pictures we had before in the trial were fta so they can be sent directly to the end user from the track, nothing added, no decoding etc - raw, like analogue terrestrial used to be, .6 sec do they really need another 6-8 weeks to work this out? |
|
By:
"do they really need another 6-8 weeks to work this out?"
Anyone else find it strange that 6-8 weeks time is the likely (or was the likely) return of the public on track? 1st October? Maybe just a coincedence. |

White play button appears

By:
Beverley with huge delay, be careful
|
|
By:
I like the way they suspended several seconds late at both ends of the race at Beverley.
That way we'll never suspect that there might be raw pics available out there. |

played well RTV on Sky

This big white button latalone, the one they used during the fast trial and ALWAYS shows up when lv is fkd funnily enough
![]() |
|
By:
but hey, no one is using the fast trial lv just now
![]() |
|
By:
no big white button for me, but there is still very big delay
|
|
By:
The white button comes at the end of the coverage of the low-quality, massively delayed "live video" pics.
That race was fine. |
|
By:
The big white button comes up at the end of the video when the stream stops
|
|
By:
yes only when lv is goosed. It's not meant to come up, its like a torch being shone on a burglar during the night escaping with his loot
|
|
By:
Although in this instance it is showing the fast trial lv is in use imho
|
|
By:
Remember the big white button that shows has only ever been seen/used on the fast trial lv, never before or after
for rtv tracks....yet mysteriously shows up every time the rtv is down AND when it is down sky rtv plays like live could this be because when our live video is down so is the raw fast trial one (as theyre from same source) hence sky tv pics become the fastest option out there eliminating the raw lv users leaving just the odd scare crow face timer or drone |

lol this day is getting ridiculous, Catterick is out too
