If the present MPs cannot or unwilling to sort this out maybe the learned public can have a go. We'd elect a group to represent us, and post that we sack the entire lot of MPs; hold a General Election to select new ones. Job done. QED.

So embarrassing to listen to the oppostion parties  harping on all day about prorogation being illegal and that Boris lied to the house the public and the Queen  which he didnt, if prorogation was illegal when the government made the decision the supreme court would not have had to change parliamentry constitution to deliver their 11-0 verdict

glentoby. In your original post were your four meetings in Scotland where a large proportion would want Boris to fail to further their own agendas ?

You're missing the point.
Prorogation isn't illegal.
But the reason given for it  were found to be false
And there was no reason for the 5 week duration.

The MP's are always happy to jet off for long summer breaks, apparently getting a deal hasn't been that important to them. Like children, take their toy away from them and they squeal.

Arrogant, mendacious, self-seeking, self-serving moron. Kept in office by two bunches of cowards too afraid to tell the Brexit supporting half-wits who voted Brexit that they are being conned a a small group headed by J Rees Smug whose sole interest in leaving the EU is to make themselves even richer by removing EU controls over their tax  dodging schemes and the influence of the ECJ in protecting the interests of working people. Tories afraid to take on their "leader", Labour afraid of losing votes to the "Keep Johnny Foreigner Out" brigade who don't see that the EU has nothing to do with preventing Pakistani immigration. we are at rock bottom. We need an intelligence test for prospective MPs. Current mob would show a 50% fail rate.

The shouting masses of van drivers barking out how 'brexit means brexit' and how democracy has been undermined are the epitome of all the people who voted to call that new scientific discovery ship 'Boaty McBoatface' because it would be '2 fingers upto the lot of em'.

All it shows is canvassing stupid people leaves you with stupid results, and that democracy is just an illusion sold to people to keep them sated.

I'm not sure the result of the vote would have been what it was if the process had been outlined properly, the timeline explained and the resulting focus on all things Brexit to achieve a deal at the expense of running the country for 3 years

it was a poorly planned & rushed vote probably because Cameron is a pig (!) ignorant moron, who totally misread the mood of the people and the amount of damage the austerity measures were having on ordinary folk, along with the mis-represented cr@p about having control of our borders

it was nearly as stupid a decision to the one May took in chucking her majority up the wall by calling an election, pretty much consigning the nation to an unsortable mess

the best part of this is that those same folk can now see what an absolute shambles of a party labour are too (and pretty much all mps no matter who they represent), so we all know  whoever wins the next election it's all still a crock of sh1t and no matter whether we are in or out of the EU, not much will change in the long run

a house full of whankers squabbling over their own personal agendas, the whole lot need clearing out; it does make you wonder if it's worth starting a guillotine business?
