Glasgow/G Hall,
Cardenden and MMFTY are both blocked, but i was curious about the content and have just seen it. I have also reported it through the usual channel and will be sending a strongly worded complaint email later. The guy has always been a disgusting individual anyway, yet his comment did not surprise me, and his contribution to the forum has never been anything other than total rubbish and would be a better place without him. |

Good morning Guys and Girls from a lovely sunny München (7c)
Yet another day of poor racing cards, although Punchestown is interesting (2017 Gold Cup winner Sizing John returns to action) yet i feel today is a day for laying rather than backing, even though many of the races are such they are outside my 5/2 odds limit. As far as lays go, assuming i select one (and i do have a couple in mind) it will be my last one on this thread as we approach year end, so a new one will commence tomorrow. The format will be exactly as before, with same staking and matched bets as the first two threads. Unfortunately my previous account was cancelled by Betfair due to new regulations in Sweden so at the start of the current thread this was not possible (regular readers are fully aware of the circumstances). Thankfully 3 posters (Happysandwich, PHS and Bitbybit) came to my rescue to act as tic-tacs supplying the current lay odds at the time for my posts. My thanks to them are sincere. Additionally, at the start of the month, the poster Bitbybit made a wonderful gesture by allowing me use of an account, hence recent matched bets (and others) on it. This act of kindness was born out of respect and trust by a stranger who i have not seen or spoken with (other than WhatsApp text messages). My sincere thanks to him again. I wonder if my nemesis would ever get such an offer. Lay status of the two previous threads (all bets matched and recorded on here) Daily Lay Thread 2018 Total 66 selections (including Saturday and Sunday thread) Success 55/66 Strike rate 83% Overall profit +£1657 to level max stake £50 per day (less commission) Random Daily Lay Thread 2018 Total 64 selections Success 46/64 Strike rate 72% Overall profit +£425 to level max stake £50 per day (less commission) Daily Lay Thread 2019 (Current) Total 78 selections to date Success 56/78 Strike rate 72% The latest thread will not reach the lofty heights of my first one, or even the decent profit for the following random daily lays, but are currently still in profit. Sadly 5 losses in a row takes the gloss off (a significant loss) but all layers experience bad runs and i'm no exception. My nemesis puts this down to him, but this is a deluded notion, but it makes him feel good, so let him play. A spreadsheet detailing all selections was posted by Bitbybit a few days ago. Everything is open and above board with full clarity and i wouldn't want it any other way. The day i start losing significantly, i will stop the thread and that will be it. OK on to some Tuesday thoughts, albeit limited due to the poor cards and looking for somewhere to take my daughter this evening to celebrate the NY. I think a couple at Punchestown may be worth laying for small stakes. Early Doors in the opener at 12.05. He has a little bit of class and was the best of these over hurdles, but he didn't look a natural chaser LTO and will need to jump better against a few of these with a little more experience. He's short enough @ 2.68 and although he ran OK (jumping aside) to finish runner-up on his chase debut there's a lot of difference between Galway and Punchestown and he's up in trip. The other is Saglawy in the 13.45 and i'm a little vmore confident with this one (that was on my short list) but the odds need to contract a little for me to think of selecting it. It isn't a given i will post this one anyway. Willie has half the field and although Sayo is the outsider with a a lessor known jockey on board, it wouldn't surprise me if this one made the running, whether he can stay there is another question. I didn't see anything that i would consider putting up as a shortie, but for a EW (or 3TBP) maybe Aliandy in the 1.50 Uttoxeter (currently 5.50) is worth a small fun bet. Good luck and have a nice Tuesday all. More later. |

Nice first lay.

By:
Stu,
No worries and thank you. As far as daily horse racing is concerned i never trade and very rarely play IR, i make the choice and stick with it, back or lay. I appreciate it's another string to a bow, but if i was going to trade it would be on track and that is something i've never done. I wouldn't mind spending a day with Willie and Mouse to see how they do it (and make a decent living). Maybe one day, who knows. I have traded on football backs/lays in the past, but i don't do that well on ball sports to be honest, although i'm not a heavy bettor with this type of sport anyway. A good start to the day with the first lay. ![]() |

Well done with the first one Andrew.

By:
Yep, fair enough to stick to your specific approach rather than trading. Bigger win when they land for you.

Gone off the Saglawy lay - market looks little too confident for it, which worries me. Scratched it.
|

Well done if laid, thank the jock though, awful.

By:
Stu,
Thank you. They gave the winner a soft lead and even though he tired, never looked like being caught. I guess some may say the runner-up could be considered a little unlucky, hampered slightly by the faller, but would it have won. PT not at his best whatever the opinions and with this stable, jockey bookings can be ignored anyway. A pity i didn't post it (or Early Doors) as a lay, but easy to say after the event. A 100% day for me so far, 3 bets, so i may call it a day on what i thought was poor days racing anyway. 2019-12-30 23:00 (yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm) to 2019-12-31 13:58 (yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm) Horse Racing: £123.51 Total P&L: £123.51 Horse Racing > Punch 31st Dec : 3m1f Beg Chs Showing 1 - 1 of 1 Selections Selection Odds Stake(£) Bid type Placed Profit/loss(£) Early Doors * 3.04 50.00 Lay 50.00 *Average odds: On Off Back subtotal: 0.00 Lay subtotal: 50.00 Market subtotal: 50.00 Commission @ 4.7%: 2.35 Net Market Total: 47.65 Horse Racing > Punch 31st Dec : 2m3f Hrd Showing 1 - 1 of 1 Selections Selection Odds Stake(£) Bid type Placed Profit/loss(£) Saglawy 3.40 40.00 Lay 31-Dec-19 13:27 40.00 *Average odds: On Off Back subtotal: 0.00 Lay subtotal: 40.00 Market subtotal: 40.00 Commission @ 4.7%: 1.88 Net Market Total: 38.12 Horse Racing > Punch 31st Dec : 3 TBP Showing 1 - 1 of 1 Selections Selection Odds Stake(£) Bid type Placed Profit/loss(£) Sayo 4.60 11.00 Back 31-Dec-19 13:25 39.60 *Average odds: On Off Back subtotal: 39.60 Lay subtotal: 0.00 Market subtotal: 39.60 Commission @ 4.7%: 1.86 Net Market Total: 37.74 |

Well done on your bets today Andrew.
Now call it a day, as it’s getting dark outside here in London at 3.17pm. They could bump into the fences instead of going over them. ![]() Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone on the Forum a very prosperous 2020 (that’s normal vision). |
