Hi Case,
Nothing as yet mate, but will post the reply f and when |
By:
Robbery, simple as if facts as stated are correct.Don't know chalkie but he comes across as an honest person going by his posts.
By:
Yes Punch i am generally an honest person.
Told a few Porkies in my time as most would have to admit as well, but Morally Honest, call a spade a spade and don't suffer fools. Past the half way mark now so try not to stress out too much as done enough of that when bringing up 4 kids lol |
By:
I believe in chalkie's version of events if for no other reason he understands the correct use of the word 'too' . Most on this forum have no idea so he's obviously an educated person and I hope he perseveres ;if he does he should get redress. Keep the pressure on and if necessary go to small claims court.

about supposedly having 3k stolen?
By:
yes mate what else can i do it is out of my hands for the time being and hopefully BF will sort out.
Over the years i have found Jumping up and down like a banshee only causes more stress and does not get you any further along me ducky. Like i said i had enough stress and hard times bringing up the kids and running a business etc and don't want to make my life any harder now, as might drop dead tomorrow. I might get a bit pissed and in a shouting match with BF if they decide to bell me. But i think it will be just a email notification. If it is the wrong one then i will have to pursue other avenues to get the proper and just outcome, if there is any that is. Many have put forward suggestions and i have taken them all in. Shouting and screaming at Customer services won't garner anything as they |

Out of all the 9 bookies that I use, PP is the one that I trust the least. There have been several incidents over the years where I suspect some shenanigans has being going on. For example, the other week I placed an each way Lucky 63 bet with them that, if all 6 horses had won, I would have seen a return of the maximum pay out from this company of £500,000. Just before I clicked ok for them to accept the bet, they were showing a sum of the maximum £500,000 return.
All legs of the bet were from UK racecourses (daytime and evening). As soon as I ok'd the bet, the sum quoted was suddenly reduced from £500,000 to £150,000 with no explanation. I suspect if questioned there is some rule hidden away somewhere about one or more of the racecourses not having a full service (whatever that means). I'm sure that if I'd placed the same bet with someone like Bet247, they wouldn't have restricted the pay out like PP seemed to have done. PP own Betfair, so I don't trust either of them. I haven't had a bet with Betfair for about 10 years now and never will. I just use my account to access these forums and occasionally post a blog. |

are not the ones who are dealing with it

The main thing a company wants to avoid is bad publicity so giving your problem maximum expose in the media should be your next step if you don't get satisfaction.
By:
I was going to suggest the same, perhaps mention to your MP....but...
theres a fine line here....if chalkie is the sort not to get too worked up out of having 3k taken then p1ssing off bf might not be the best route if he wins on here |
By:
Another option if BF don't do the right thing is using Resolver.co.uk.
They are recommended by Moneysavingexpert.com and help to resolve consumer complaints. They worked for me in getting money out of a Energy company after they initially said no. |
By:
Precisely Dusty,
got to wait for the outcome before i do anything. Believe me i am pissed off and boiling inside somewhere, just trying to keep a lid on it for now |
By:
Chalkie - I could put you in contact with a reporter if you want to go down that route. Getting maximum exposure will cost them a lot more than the 3k if you don't get the correct outcome directly.

Doesn't Paul Haigh sort out problems like this for punters?
By:
what ever has happen fraud has been committed somewhere
GO STRAIGHT TO THE POLICE B/FAIR HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO SORT IT OUT |
By:
chalkie I don't think you have much chance of betfair refunding you stolen 3 grand, although I am quite suprised Ashmal was refunded.
I had my account emptied of about Monkey , 3 years ago , funds were transferred to betfair poker and my account was left empty . Betfair Investigations department acknowledged that I had never played poker and that my account was accessed from abroad less than an hour after I had logged out from the UK . I stated that the only explanation could be was that a Betfair employee was responsible , they threatened me with legal action and blocked me on twitter . I then received the following email: Unfortunately, your account was compromised and the funds lost to legitimate players in the poker environment. Therefore, there are no funds to be returned to you. Your account was closed as in these scenarios we close accounts to ensure no further access can be gained by the person/s that accessed the account illegitimately. Kind regards, |
By:
Betfair is like a Bank. If customers lose faith in its ability to look after their money they ain't got no business.
By:
Your 1 chance could be that it was lost on Betfair Sportsbook , so no legitimate punters will be at any loss if they refund your money ?
By:
Keep a track of correspondence eg email (do not rely solely on inbox messages), for future reference and legal recourse (if necessary), and only phone calls if access to recordings are available to you. Good luck.

Hip Hip Hip Hip Hooray.
BF emailed me yesterday but did not pick up til this morning and they have stated they are going to refund the funds as a gesture of goodwill.A snipet of the mail here. 'We are unable to provide further information with regards as to how this has occurred as we can only provide you with information related to your Betfair account, however this activity indicates that your details might have been gained from a 3rd party website . We have also confirmed that you were not responsible for some of the activity on your account Due to this, the amount of 3000.00 GBP has been lost.' 'As per our terms and conditions, Betfair are not held liable for losses incurred from accounts being compromised. Please refer to section 1 of your account’s terms and conditions That being said we have decided to refund the amount lost as a goodwill gesture. Kindly contact our customer service team as they will have to create a new account for you' Probably the Sportbook angle( like Yuma and others have said) that may have forced their hand in the refund because if lost to another on the exchange would have been hard to prove i had no hand in it and the money gone to another and not BF them selves. Thanks for all the positive support that has helped keep me sane over the last week. Cheers Me Dears |

Well done chalkie.

Good news

By:
well done great result
By:
Glad they did the right thing but as you say would they have been so generous if the bet was on the exchange?
By:
WD
but what does/could this mean this activity indicates that your details might have been gained from a 3rd party website . |
By:
You make it sound like it was a plot Stew lol
By:
well done, but looks like you have given your details to a phishing site - I asked this before but you didn't reply, do you use a similar password for anywhere else?
By:
The first part of the email read
'We have confirmed that your account has been successfully accessed from an unauthorized location as your login information has been compromised.' followed by what i have put up but they can't talk about anything else as i suppose it has something to do with Data Protection ![]() |
By:
A Stew plot?
Well done anyway mate. Terms and conditions may arris - if a criminal offence has been committed T&Cs mean jack sh1te. |
By:
btw I'm assuming that you have changed all your passwords.
By:
lol chalkie I can see where you're coming from. I should say fair play to BF also for showing common sense on this occasion albeit it could have turned out different had the bet been on the exchange.
