Well done Georgey, back amongst the winners. I was going to give that one a miss until I saw the money for it so just got a few quid on at 12/1. I had my doubts about the trip for it... shows what I know!

Cheers. Two winners in two days, things are looking up
![]() It was encouraging that he was about 10s on here rather than 30s at the off and clearly they knew they had the horse in form again. |

Thanks, it's a relief to be back among the winners, unfortunately two swallows don't make a summer!

I'm getting a bit worried here, Minding has drifted in the Oaks betting and a few others have shortened, but Even Song ain't one of them

* She has shortened with the books, but not on here

Yikes, got a bit carried away this morning
![]() Lilbourne Prince, 1pt EW @ 16-1, 3.55 Leicester Seemingly relatively exposed, but was having his first start at 10f when catching the eye at Windsor on his latest start behind Grapevine, when not getting a clear run up the straight and leaving the impression he would have gone close to winning with a clear run; this looks tougher, but he's slightly better off at the weights with the winner, is unexposed at the trip, and SDS has been booked. Joyful Star, 1pt win @ 9-2, 5.15 Ayr Lightly-raced 6YO who was an obvious eyecatcher on his reappearance at Musselburgh over 7f two weeks ago, when it looked like he would have gone close to winning but for being badly hampered and fortunate not to hit the deck inside the final furlong; slower ground today, which is a concern as he's not proven on it. Joey's Destiny, 1pt EW @ 16-1, 7.25 Windsor I selected JD when he ran over 7f at Goodwood on his latest start in a stronger grade than this, as I thought there was an angle in with the trip; as it turned out, the race didn't go his way from a wide draw, but he wasn't beaten far in a bunch finish and he shaped like he was in good form. JD is dropping in trip here, but it's no great concern as three of his four wins have been at 6f, and he remains of interest, being 2lb lower than when a good third over 6f at Goodwood last September. Quick N Quirky, 1pt win @ 5-1, 8.05 Carlisle The notebook run was last September over 7f at Catterick when I got the impression she could worth a try over further again (dam's side of pedigree not short of stamina). Apparently there had been an issue with her wind which has now been sorted out and she has returned this season in good form, finishing 5th in a big field handicap at Doncaster (winner has since been Listed placed, and the fourth has since won twice), before winning at Musselburgh when overcoming a less-than-ideal draw and trip. Quick N Quirky tries a mile again here, and although she's up 3lb for her win, there may well be more improvement to come from her if proving suited by the step up in trip. Biotic, 1pt EW @ 16-1.8.45 Windsor Not had many chances at distances beyond 10f (easy winner on one of his three attempts over 11f at Kempton off a 5lb lower mark than this evening's), and shaped on his latest start over 10f at Windsor as though he was worth a try over further for the first time on turf; he was never getting a clear run up the straight that evening and shaped better than the bare result, seemingly finishing with running left in him; the winner has won again since to give the form a boost, and interesting to see how Biotic copes with this test on turf. Zephyr Breeze, 1pt win @ 14-1, 9.05 Carlisle Shaped well on his debut over 5f at Musselburgh early last season in a maiden which produced winners (including one at Listed level), but presumably there was an issue after as he wasn't seen again for nine months; three starts on the AW this year have been disappointing (albeit not disgraced on the figures in a class 2 race at Wolverhampton); the straws to clutch at here are a return to turf, handicapping (has been dropped 6lb following his latest run in a maiden), and his stable being in better form (two winners recently). |

GL today George probably be another miss for me though several running that I was on last time so will see later on
|
|
By:
Same for me today FL, Manatee Bay much stronger in the market today I see.
More than happy to join you with Lilbourne Prince at the current price though George. Caught my eye more than once. Gl |
|
By:
GL George, not looked in for ages. Taken Lilbourne on with the Palmer hoss.
|
|
By:
Good luck all
Think yours might be better suited to turf, saddo, thought he looked a bit one paced on the Poly. GL |

By:
A couple of 'friends' of the thread running at Wetherby tomoz - Udontdodontu (if it runs)
and Lightning Spree ![]() |
|
By:
Unlucky with the Palmer hoss, saddo, went quite low in the run.
Mine just missed 3rd but it wasn't for lacking of trying on the jockey's behalf, I think a lot of jocks would have just settled for 5th there. |
|
By:
Think that Sunraider who you put up lto at Ascot has a decent chance tonight George, this race a lot easier, Midgeley had a couple of winners now, dropped 3lbs and goes well here 313.
|
|
By:
When I looked at the decs yesterday morning I thought I'd give him another chance, stewarts, but when I saw the betting last night, he wasn't even 10-1

By:
Just noticed he was put in as the 25-1 rag in the RP forecast

Agree with the sentiments on the ride. George Baker does seem to have more dire jockeys ride for him then anyone else

Seemed to jink in the closing stages

By:
Could be worse George, I'v backed all of yours with the exception of the winner, and I'v backed a 20/1 shot to win that finished second
![]() |
|
By:
Why didn't you back the winner?
|
|
By:
Didn't have time to look at it's form on my lunchbreak and as it was 'only' 9/2 I figured I wouldn't be missing much if it won

|
By:
Apparanetly that Joyful Star had a breathing op over the winter, he certainly looks much better this season. Good spot on that first run back this season.
|
|
By:
Lightning Sprees race taking a bit of looking at, a couple of likely candidates in there lurking on handy marks.
Wd on Joyful Star George. Manatee Bay and Sunraider both 'thread' horses ran well. |
|
By:
Unfortunately the last two were dire. Biotic was disappointing, and ZB looked particularly limited, the only hope for him is if he needs it soft, as it was on his debut.
3.5 pts lost on the day. |
|
By:
Please don't read anything negative in this George but why, if you work on a 1-5 scale, is everything backed at 1 point? That aside, good luck & I'm sure you will soon get the lucky breaks with your selections.
|
|
By:
Lee, yesterday's ante-post selection Even Song is 2pts EW.
I may increase stakes, but I don't like to be over-confident! |
|
By:
George, missed that one - oops
![]() |
|
By:
yes disappointing that Biotic George, settled well enough today and going nicely but didn't seem to get home.
Has won over 11f on the polytrack though so was expecting better. I wouldn't mind seeing him back at Kempton maybe dropped in trip, same connections dropped his half brother Isis Blue from 12f to 8f in the winter and that horse bolted up that day. |
|
By:
Also Biotic should drop a few pounds for today's effort so should be able to get into a 0-80 which should suit the big horse.
If not the all-weather then perhaps sandown as he ran well there a few times last season. As for that Zephyr Breeze, the handicapper punished him for that Wolves run behind Wolowitz and maybe he wasn't ready for today and they're waiting til he drops down the weights a bit. Agreed he could be interesting back at Musselburgh over 5f on softer at some point in the season. we shall see |
