Gonna start with Drumshambo in the 2.40 at Ludlow - 16/1 top price, worth a go EW
I played this two starts ago over tomorrow's course and distance. Was going well, but made a mistake at the 8th and the wheels fell off. He shaped well on his next start at Chepstow, better than the bare form, as the ground was horrible. The two in front have both gone on to win their next start. He's dropped another 3lb, and will appreciate some better ground. Personally would have him in the single figures. |

That was an extremely poor run, looks to be one to drop off the list

Not sure what is going on with Pink Gin, friendless today. Either lost the plot, or it is a plot.

Vive Le Roi 4-40 Donc'
Was expected to win on debut at Worcester and duly did, then was well beaten at Cheltenham in november, in what was probably one of the 3 best bumpers ran here so far this season. Back to his right level tomorrow and should go very close. 4/1 at the mo' but may be a bit bigger. |

Charlie Cook in the 4.15 at Ludlow - 6/1 with a few firms
I know it's not always this simple, but on recent form, it does look like it's between CC and Zanstra. I personally think that the Charlie Cook form is stronger - We've already seen the 3rd, Roycano, bolt up at Fakenham. Zanstra has the stable form going for him, but he's half the price of CC, other than that, is there anything that special about the Kempton 3rd? The extra few furlongs look ideal for CC, particularly judged on the Market Rasen run, and we've already seen him over further at Haydock. He's 4lb for the Doncaster 2nd, but that looks fair to me. |

Ludders is off then.
Shame, as Drum had already made it in to single figures. ATB for today. |

Hopefully only 10p R4. Quite a few horses that I like tomorrow, hopefully a return to some bigger prices that can fall again. |

Twister pair in the last two Exeter races
5.00 Deputy Commander (11/2) 5.30 Bring Back Charlie (15/2) Will have to do the write up later |
|
By:
Ryan, pretty sure this thread is being watched like Hugh Taylor's page.
Prices quick to vanish, you have the game by the balls! |
|
By:
Funny you say that..
.. Bring Back Charlie is still 15/2 ![]() |

563 have pushed that out again.
Surely not a bookie taking a stand? I'm suspicious as hell. |

By:
It looks really dodgy, clearly no traders at home.

When someone looks in the morning, the liabilities on that horse are going to be ridiculous.

Write up time.
Deputy Commander He was eyecatching on quite a few of his novice hurdle starts. I pointed him out before his handicap debut as I thought his mark looked workable. However, I just had a saver on him as I thought 19.5f trip was going to be too sharp, and thus it proved - one of the first off the bridle, but he stayed on nicely. He's up in trip by almost half a mile tomorrow, and on visual evidence, I think that will really help. There's nothing particularly special about his price, but I think there is a lot more to come from him over this sort of trip. Bring Back Charlie The only angle for me was the stable change. I don't want to start slagging off the previous trainer, but the facts are that she's only had 1 horse win for her (who is actually a really decent horse), but she's struggled with the others. That might be because they are useless, but I'm just interested to see what Twiston Davies can do with him. Chucked some on On The Road too - some early money for him, still 14s top price, looks significant that Paul Moloney comes here for the one ride, 3 months off due to injury, first ride for the boss. The horse had his handicap debut close to his novice hurdle runs, I would expect a different horse after the break. |

wonder what the ground will be like at exeter tomorrow was bottomless for the last meeting.
if soft/heavy would guess milansbar in the novice h'cap chase 4.25 but i could stop a tiger tank at the moment, might be better served waiting for the flat turf to start. |

Now for my Warwick horse in the 4.50
Coolking - 20/1 in places I know people don't like these Conditional/Amateur heats, but if you've got a good jockey on your horse, then I'm all for it. We've got jockeys in the race tomorrow who haven't ridden under rules, and a lot are inexperienced. David Noonan takes the ride on Coolking, and I love backing horses in these races that have either a visor or a pair of blinkers fitted, as it's hands and heels only - so your horse needs to want to be there. I thought he shaped OK at Kempton on his last run, he couldn't go with the front runner, some Scott horse that went for home too soon, and won at Taunton just the other day - Shoofly Milly. The Chris Gordon stable had been out of form for quite some time, but they seem to be running well again. I expect him to be out front, should be easy to get a decent trade given he's at the front - He went down to 8.6 LTO from a BSP of 22, and it was similar at Fontwell, and Stratford before then. Just like to add that Kelsey looks like really hard work, no doubt he is ahead of the handicapper, but will take a good jockey to get him home under just hands and heels - stamina doubts too. |
|
By:
I didn't say why Noonan is good, but just have to look at his strike rate this season - 14 winners from 99 rides over hurdles, 34 of the other rides saw him finish in the first 4 too. He's operating at a different level to most in this field.

Was expecting the ground to be quite tacky, and gluey KIW.

I will be giving Fourovakind another shot in the 3.55 Exeter, 8/1 generally.
Stopped instantly in the Welsh national, having looked like he might be feeling his way into a challenge. A solid(ish) profile apart from that. This from the stable; The plan is to run FOUROVAKIND in the Devon National at Exeter tomorrow at 3.55 . He shaped well for a long way in the Welsh National before being pulled up, and the handicapper has dropped him 3lb to a mark of 124. He progressed through the season last year and we hope he will do the same again this year. He has run well at the course before, the ground should suit him and the trip shouldn’t be an issue. If he can get into a nice rhythm we hope he will run very well!! |

Next Edition - 6.15 Wolverhampton 11/2
Jockey made a real mess of it on its last appearance, not sure how this failed to frame to be honest but Phill Dennis is back on board & he is 4 from 15 this year so technically the horse is 2lb better off from that last run & has shown enough to suggest that its up to winning a class 6 hcp, trainer ticking along nicely & if not finding traffic equivalent to rush hour on the M25 it should go close Diamond Vine - 5.45 Wolverhampton 10/1 Not made the winners enclosure since winning the same race last year, 5 wins for 105 is hardly awe inspiring but was second of 13 here last April in a class 6 & fourth of 12 in September also over C & D, only one run in a class 7 over C & D provided its last win & no reason of a mark of 40 with the claim it cannot get into the mix. |

Taken from the Twister website
Exeter 5.00 - Deputy Commander had a hattrick of runners up slots from his first three starts, on bumper and two novice hurdles, but his handicap debut from 109 when 5th of 18 at Doncaster four weeks ago was arguably his best run. Back up in trip to 2m 7f will suit him too and he looks to have a very good chance of gaining his first win. Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle. 5.30 - Bring Back Charlie makes his debut for us having had six outings for the Imogen Pickard yard over the last couple of seasons, though he's not been out for ten months. Still only a 6yo, he's shown well at home and hopefully the change of environment has helped to bring him on. He's down 6lbs to 79 for this, his second handicap, and that may just be a very handy mark. Sam aboard and a good run expected. They never give much away, but it's better than 'he cannae win'. |
