They have a provisional licence from the Gambling Commission - if they are lying in their T&C about their complaints procedure, that could be grounds to withdraw the licence, stopping them from taking bets in the UK.

^ Perhaps a copy of that email - (to, and from IBAS) - should be sent to the Cheltenham Executive - and the British Horseracing Authority  -

- because it is a 1.01 that they will be blissfully UNAWARE of such scenarios - amongst the many other complaints.

brought back here - as why should it drop off the current/latest page of the thread.

WFT     10 Nov 14 12:07

Licensed in malta, not a member of IBAS

and yet their terms and conditions say

"14.2 Alternative Dispute Resolution

The current balance and transaction history of your account may be viewed at any time. Should there be any claim or dispute arising from past or current transactions please contact us, as per the process outlined in clause 11.7. If we are unable to settle the dispute, we will refer the matter to an arbiter, such as IBAS, whose decision will be final subject to full representation given to all parties involved."

I sent an e-mail to IBAS asking if Betway were registered....
----------
Their reply.........

"Dear Mr XXXXXXXXXX

I  can confirm that the operator, Betway, are not presently registered
with this Service
which determines that we would not be able to offer
you adjudication in your dispute. However we will be contacting the
company to see why they advise clients to contact us when they are not
part of our register.

In the meantime you would have to contact the regulatory body, who I
believe to be Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority - which licenses
and regulates the operator.  Details should be accessible on the
company's website.

I am genuinely sorry we can be of no assistance in this matter.

Regards

Danny Cracknell
Adjudication Manager
IBAS "

It would seem Betway lie about a number of things, and, in my opinion, this emphasizes all that's wrong with the betting industry in this country. How they're allowed to sponsor one of our major races, is simply a disgrace.

does the word SUCH mean any arbiter, not just IBAS ?

I read on another source, that in Betway's conditions they will close your account, and keep the balance, if they DEEM that you are an arber !

They don't need proof, they just need to "deem" !

If I had an account with them with a substantial balance, I'd be worried, very worried given that it's virtually impossible to get your balance paid back to you.

racingstar, instead of trying, and failing, to be clever, if you did a little bit of research, you might see that there's quite a few people with substantial balances, that have trouble taking their money out.

It might not be substantial to you, but then again you do know it all, it would seem.

Now, why don't you leave this thread to grown-ups, who are trying to warn people about Betway, rather than calling people "pricks" for the sin of having opened an account with them.

Here's an example of someone who can't withdraw their £9500.

Is that substantial enough for you ?

WFT,
The only thing that surprises me is that anybody would bet with the "two bob flimpers" in the first place.
Sendintheclowns posted a warning regarding this shower of craphouses months ago.
Despite this,HFT and many others thought that they knew better.
They didn't.
As for £9,500,I keep considerably more than that here and only for In Running purposes.
Does this help you?

We really need to do something about this firm before they rip anymore innocent people off, be it social media or the tabloids, people power can really knock them back a peg or two, how they are allowed to run a business in this way is beyond me.

Cannot get over racingstar and the fact that he "knows" that these books are scum..

We all do however we have to use them as the alleged "Bookmakers" in this Country will not take a bet.

Some of us live 10 miles or more from a Betting Shop and there is no liquidity on here to speak of in the AM which is why I have always done my conkers on here.

The "Sportsbook" will not lay a bet and those alleged "traders" that work for Betfair will not put any liquidity into the markets because they are clueless minimum wage cretins that cannot even hold down a job elsewhere.

What are people supposed to do....

Well, I'm really impressed !

You questioned that anyone had a substantial balance, so I give you an example, and then you brag you have more in your betfair account ? You'll be wanting to bet on whose got the biggest d1ck, next !

Have you considered that people might even have opened an account with them before sendintheclown's warning ?

Take the blinkers off.

I was told many years ago by a well respected Bookmaker (who is sadly no longer with us)that the most vital part of any bet was the "certainty" of getting paid if you won.
I had a narrow escape with Napoleans many years ago and have resisted the temptation of betting with "Chancers" ever since.
