Impossible to play in a race in which he has a short priced runner - let alone two. Southwell 15 10.

On more serious note on what basis had the handicapper allocated a mark to these previously unsighted horses.?Ridiculous.

Totally bonkers situation although without getting too clever have a big juicy green having laid @3.8

The issuing of handicap marks does need to rethought.

I know AP works for the mob but have always been surprised by his links to this yard. Imo it does tarnish his image and just don't see why he needs to be involved albeit he tends to ride the horses after the handicap mark has been sorted.

the "McCoy" bluff strategy, bookies done up like kippers.

any wonder we cannot get bets on anymore ?

Fair point, hard to prove these things but really not very helpful to the sport and would love to see some serious action.

The handicapper should add the official BHA 40lbs to the flat mark if the horse has yet to figure in novice hurdles.  This would encourage the likes of Best to try a little harder with them!

You've got to be impressed by the amount of times Mattie Batchelor's car didn't break down when he's been getting Saint Helena a nice handicap mark.

He's part of the untouchables, he can do what he likes and the BHA will never question him. I don't think Best can be considered as the equivalent as Curley though.

McCoy's strike rate with Jim Best is over 55% in all races this year

TONY McCOY will ride Saint Helena, who has been heavily-backed this morning, at Southwell this afternoon after his original mount, the Jim Best-trained stablemate Into The Wind, was declared a non-runner due to the going.

once the inevitable jockey change occurs shouldnt the bha have the power to step in and order the withdrawal of this horse in order to prevent an obvious stitch up and yet another dark stain on a rapidly declining industry
By:

what the hell is going on here please?

all i do know is McCoy has an over 50% strike rate with Jim so expect a win here what ever the handicap mark

does the non runner effect anything anyway?

SIR_Bond, the withdrawal of Into The Wind makes the jockey switch legitimate.

We have seen these lose though still unless they are laying off before the race

Matty has done a good job on this one you seen the form over 300L beaten
