finding selections very hard to come by at the moment, sir guy porteous and right of appeal tick many boxes but not quite enough to qualify.

thinking about lowering the bar or perhaps running 2 systems, the same criteria as has been used so far and a looser one in tandem to see how being a bit less strict works out.

I haven't read all the way through the thread, but I can definitely say this ... if you back all the Mark Johnston runners which start in double figures (ie 10 or higher) and subsequently lay them in running ( at whatever point you feel comfortable with) ...you will win.

I have been doing this for years ...it's a no-brainer.

Prepare for the next day that laying Johnston horses at double-figure odds scheme goes wrong then, Art Decko. If you've been doing it for years, you must've been pretty out of pocket after Goodwood's 2012 Festival. Hurricane Higgins, Sir Graham Wade, Landaman, Heavy Metal, and Fulbright were all available at double-figures prior to the off in each of their respective races (bar Fulbright who started at 8's). Hope you've got a contingency plan when it goes awry, because one day soon, it will. No-brainer indeed.

this one was very borderline today but scored just about enough pts on my ratings criteria. either runs a huge race or a complete stinker imo. trip should be bang on, don't think pontefract suited (has been well beaten there both runs now. raced very awkwardly previously at lingfield running away from the bend and having to be ridden early wide to try and keep a position. last chance saloon today back right handed on a more galloping track over a trip that should suit on hcp debut. the mdn at musselburgh last october when narrowly beat at 40/1 had a team of 3 runners from MJ and the other 2 have won hcps off marks in the mid/high 60's now.plenty of authorized progeny like a bit of cut,but MS seemed to handle fast ground when encountering it in the musselburgh race last term.

running out of excuses for this one if it can't run a big race here.

a poor friday, will be cutting back on aw winners not proven on turf and relaxing the track bias which has been too high when other factors have been right (too many winners have slipped through).

surprisingly no selections today with beverley and catterick tracks that are right up there for finding winners.

head ache over beverley abandoned

don't like pigeon pie at an extended mile and zanouska was a border line yes/no, at price decided to leave today.

just hope this weather is not a sign of how the summer is going to pan out
