1.01 it regains the race on appeal, if ever a case for central stewarding

guys, i suspect because there was an ommitted fence there that the jockey on the 9/1 shot is obliged for safety reason to move in order to prevent the other horse from coliding with the wooden fence...........i dont know

the BHA will take about 1 min to reverse that on appeal..... otherwise they will have to reverse hundreds of other results on appeal last couple of years including the Cheltenham Gold Cup..... (if it wasn't for appeals being time barred)

These stewards are paid to do nothing all year and when there  is  something for them to do they show no understanding of the game ,they do need to be sacked on that.

Not omitted they do not jump that water jump on the run in,Sam would have known the course just didn't move out in time and gave the stewards the silver tongue................

think that will be it for local stewards.

1.01 the BHA will have to introduce a central panel from now on..... with Dave Smith on it

That water jump at Stratford causes no end of trouble, whoever plonked it there needs sectioning.

Absolutely shocking decision. Without doubt the worst 4 a very long time. Deffo will be reversed.

It looked to be from the head on (although I only saw it once briefly) as if the jockey on the original 2nd has jumped the last and then raced the wrong side of the rail and then tries to get in at the last minute and gets squeezed up.

If that's how it was though then isn't that down to him and not the original FPTP?

only just come in and watched the replay what a load of b0llox to reverse the decision twiston davies had  head down and was not  watching where he was going until it was too late 1.01 to be reversed not that will do any one who was robbed by the stewards

The jockeys all know they have to swerve to the inside of the water when finishing any chases at Stratford so surely any jockey trying to catch the leader by challenging on the outside at the final fence is inviting his own traffic problems a few seconds later !!

Appalling decision by the local stewards - even more so when (according to the Racing Post), ex-jockey Chris Rutter is one of the stewards' secretaries on duty there today so it's not as if the entire panel had never ridden in any races !!

about time they introduced a min IQ test for the idiots who stand as stewards.

Even an IQ level of 10 should be enough to avoid a similar fiasco in future

When: 29 Mar 14 18:15
The only explanation is dangerous* but I thought that means a complete dq?

*on the grounds that the course configuration dictates that horses should move across to the far rail (perhaps jockeys are told to do this???)

pockie talk....

When: 29 Mar 14 18:23
The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference on the run to the line. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that the winner, DOLATULO (FR), ridden by Gavin Sheehan had interfered with BENSBENS (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies and that the interference had improved DOLATULO (FR)’s placing. They placed BENSBENS (IRE) 1st, and DOLATULO (FR), second. The Stewards found Sheehan in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he failed to take corrective action. They suspended him for 4 days as follows: Saturday 12, Sunday 13, Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 April 2014.

I admit pocket talking but how on earth have they reversed that? And I backed the second in the Gold Cup. The only way they have chucked that out is they backed the second. If the fav had won the result would have stood. Bent!!!!!!

its this kind of decision that makes professional stewarding a no brainer, they need impartial ex jocks and trainers with no
allegiance to current jockeys and trainers (easier said than done I know)to make these decisions, not a bunch of port quaffing
amateurs,it makes the whole sport look amateurish.if McCoy had been on that winner the stewards would NOT have changed the
result I can guarantee you that, they would have shat themselves and put it down to the course configuration and all the pundits would have said it was
a good bit of race riding not to let the other horse up the inside,in horse racing what is good for the goose is not always
good for the gander and that decision today proves it
By:

When: 29 Mar 14 19:50
possible explanations just posted on the BHA website:

a) three village idiots were let loose from their local Stratford domains
b) stewards backed Bensbens
c) stewards didn't back Backbens but got their mates on at 20's+ during the enquiry
d) stewards were completely p*ssed by 3pm
e) it took 30 mins to resolve an  enquiry that normally takes 1 min because it took 25 mins to locate them in the racecourse bars
