My registered bank/BS is Nationwide, and I don't appear to be affected. Has anyone else using Nationwide had any problems?

I have had money I deposited with Nationwide and cannot withdraw some of my winnings. My balance well exceeds any deposit, so not sure why I am being penalised to withdraw excess money?

I suspect it depends not on your bank but when you last deposited ?
But wtf won't they tell us ?

My lord, if this thread is a microcosm of how hysteria can spread over the smallest of things God help us all if something really serious comes looming in the horizon.

They obviously have a banking issue of sorts, everyone will get their money I have no doubt, it might take a few days longer than normal.

It's a pain no doubt but they'll clear whatever backlog they have and then we can all move on or those that wish to join the purple revolution like myself feel free to bare arms thataways!

Hopefully it's sorted for everyone in't mornin' Happy

Betfair have issued a short statement in response to users who claim they have been unable to withdraw funds for a number of days...

Racing Post ‏@RacingPost  5m
Betfair: Following some temporary issues with our deposit function a small number of customers subsequently had their withdrawals affected..
Racing Post ‏@RacingPost  4m
Betfair: ..for a brief period. This was resolved swiftly and we will be speaking to the affected customers individually."

I think a service announcement would suffice. Happy to speak to the press but not to us. That's poor customer relations.

this headline doesn't look good on their home page, betfair police must be asleep !  They are not handling this issue very well:-

15,000 customers were affected according to Marcus at Betfair, I have sent a copy of the transaction to the Racing Post.

I will be making an official complaint to relevant regulators and I hope you all do the same. Hopefully they get fined and warned about their future conduct.

F**k you Betfair. Been trying to withdraw for over 72 hours. Once I get my money, I won't be depositing again, ever. I'll take a lower price, if I have to, at Betd@q or M@tchbook in future rather than using these f**kers again.

Matchbook has better prices as it's only 1% comm compared to the 5% - 7.5% charged by betfair.

Betty's ignorance always amazes me, when will they understand that it is cheaper to retain an existing customer than find a new one?  This latest technical issue will cost them thousands simply because of a lack of effective customer service and transparency - if I was a shareholder I'd be selling up as it is impossible to see how Betty can grow if continuing to conduct business in this manner...

Marcus : Hello welcome to Betfair you are chatting with Marcus. How can I help?
xxxxxx: Hi, I was in a bookmakers today and 2 men were talking about Betfair going into liquidation/
Marcus: I can confirm that this is not the case.
Marcus: In fact if you look at our share price you will notice that it has gone up by 60% in the last few months.
xxxxxx: Is this on the back of monies' that betfair are refusing to pay to its punters'?
xxxxxx: ?
Marcus: No that is just a technical difficulty that we are currently experiening.
Marcus: I assure you we are not liquidating.
xxxxxx: Marcus to say currently is being economical with the truth, this has been all weekend?
Marcus: The technical issue has been with us all weekend unfortunately.
xxxxxx: So that is not current is it?
Marcus: But we are still experiencing the problem with about 15,000 odd clients.
Marcus: So that makes it current, thankfully though the service is back to working normally by the end of the day.
xxxxxx: So is this my concern? I am concerned about my money not theirs
xxxxxx: Marcus your reply is nothing but insulting
Marcus: No your money is fine it will still remain in your account but if you cannot withdraw be assured that the service will be available by the end of the day.
Marcus: I'm sorry if you found my replies insulting I am not trying to be insulting in any way.
xxxxxx: Marcus I need money now, I have money owed since the 20/3 and Betfair have stopped me drawing more money out.
xxxxxx: I tried to draw £320 over the weekend it would not let me, it now means I have to cycle 14 miles tomorrow 7 in and 7 back to draw money out ot a non online account
Marcus: I assure you we have not stopped you in anyway, but you can withdraw by the end of the day if not sooner.
xxxxxx: to fund my bak account why should I betfairs fault not mine
xxxxxx: Right Marcus are really taking the Michael here, if you have not stopped my money where is it?
Marcus: I understand where you are coming from, I cannot withdraw from my account either, so that puts us in the same boat.
xxxxxx: Sorry Marcus, do you think I care about your problems mate. I want Betfair to do the honourable thing and transfer the money to my account overnight without charging me £6 or I will contacting the newpapers about this shameful demonstarion
Marcus: What I meant to say is that I really do know where you are coming from and that we are only trying to help.
Marcus: I understand this is frustrating, and that we are trying everything un our power to get this issue resolved as soon as we can.
xxxxxx: How are you helping. I came on here not having got my money and I will leave in the same vein?
Marcus: Thankfully now we have a timeframe that by tonight this is going to be resolved.
Marcus: Hopefully it can also be resolved sooner.
xxxxxx: I want betfair to pay my money overnight
Marcus: Yes, hopefully this will be done for you as soon as possible.
xxxxxx: What they will pay the money overnight without a £6 charge
Marcus: However if you are enquiring about bank transfers, it is a time frame from the bank that we quote back to our customers and that is between 3-5 working day.
xxxxxx: Betfair have the problems not me, again I say I want Betfair to pay AND PUT THE MONEY THROUGH without a charge
Marcus: This charge is not applicable to us but to the bank.
Marcus: If we could do it without a charge we would.
xxxxxx: Are you winding me up, of course yo can do it without a charge to me
Marcus: I am not trying to wind you up.
Marcus: This charge is for the bank, for the fast payment scheme.
Marcus: As such you are paying the bank so that the service is made quicker.
xxxxxx: So betfair screwed up not me you pay it. Mate leave it. I have copied all this and am going to show this.

A couple of points. Do not talk on-line when you are cheesed off, as you sometimes do not state your case well.
He gave his permission for this to be shown.

I think it's because my deposits look to have now been authenticated by my bank. I had a situation at weekend where I had money showing in here but no pending debits with my bank. I think that has been the general issue and I suspect when Betfair have gone back for authentication for deposits made today some people have perhaps not had the cash.

Have been able to finally withdraw, seems pot luck at the moment. No matter what happens now, massive damage done to the organisation, will be interesting to see what the press make of it, and the effect, if any , on the share price.......

Lot on twitter guys.
Me I'd take my dough out anyway I could even if they charge you.
Since a lot of country's like Greece are no longer here they must be going down soon if not now.
I can't even watch video now and put bets on as early as possible cause of all the crashes.
