Actually I think Hanagan is the best outsider but he is not priced that way.

I cant believe how much opposition there is on here to ryan mooore, some 1 said he's not bothered thats rubbish, he is by far the best jockey, true  he wont ride in gb on sundays but i cant understand why hughes is fav - never won it, fallon no chance hanagan - hamdan wants a horseman not a guy who will whip the horse 10 times, sds / frankie absolutely no chance

good shout clarky9 with Tylicki, I can see that Fahey connection paying this year too

I'm a big fan of Joe Fanning. IMO he's been the best jockey riding in the UK over the last 3 seasons. I could never back him though as I knew that he'd never get the number of rides needed to win a Championship. I found it bizarre that MJ would continually give other jockeys like Greg Fairly & De Souza more rides then Joe? This season surely he will back him big time. Along with getting lots of decent rides from the up and coming Keith Dalgleish, he's sure to be top Northern Jockey IMO. If he can get more rides down south, then he is an excellent bet. I'm having a really good bet on him this season in the hope that he gets off to a flyer at Donny!

A thought for those who feel Luke Morris is a decent outsider.

Why do you think he is suddenly going to double last seasons strike rate, even a 50% rise will only push him up to around 12/13% which is nowhere near the required level.

Even at the moment, on the AW, he's at 13.5% whereas Fanning is 23%

I just don't see where the extra QUALITY of ride is going to come from.

Nirnaeth - Just realised that no-one responded to your Morris post. I put him in as my outsider because I think it is only a question of time before he gets a big(gish) job.  I actually originally posted him as champion jockey for 2013!!   Your points re strike rate are of course valid, but the boy rides anything for anyone, almost anywhere at any time. He had 1330 rides for 166 different trainers ffs! This clearly impacts is strike rate as does the quality of horse for the trainers who provide him with the most rides - Ron Harris, good as he is, is hardly prolific!.

Told this story before, season before last at Goodwood, p'ing down all day, only one jockey seen walking the course before racing - Luke Morris. He only had one unfancied ride.  The boy is hungry!!
