Cheers lads - 1st selection for tomorrow
Got a soft spot for this one - usually hits a flat spot which makes it look as if three miles will suit - not too sure if it will and it's not exactly well handicapped but at 5/1 looks slightly overpriced. Conem 3.35 Limerick 0.50 points each-way 5/1 Boyles Sam |
|
By:
Nothing at bigger prices today - just one more selection
Salubrious 4.00 Cheltenham 0.50 points each-way 9/2 Lads And a 0.25 points each-way double Conem 3.35 Limerick Salubrious 4.00 Cheltenham 100/30 and 9/2 VC 2.50 points staked on the day in total Sam |

By:
Might have got it too right with Conem matched at 1.04 - although it would be hard to say it didn't stay the 3 miles.
Nicholls one ran as would be usual when i think there's a bit of value in one his. A bigger bet for me tomorrow - put it up shortly -1.50 points on the day to advised stakes/prices November +32.18 advised stakes/prices +61.59 1 point win level satkes BSP Sam |

Ok bigger bet for me on this one tomorrow which might be aptly named - there are positive and negative stats for me on this one - in my book it would be around 11/2 so the 8/1 makes it value for me.
I don't particlularly like betting fillies at this time of year but it doesn't show up as a lay on any of my laying systems. The sire and dam sire stats are mixed but on the whole quite positive as are the trainer and jockey stats. Hopefully although running off the same handicap mark as last time a better trip through the race and the application of cheekpieces will make the difference. If it hadn't been for a couple of slight negatives i would have made it a bigger bet - it should be a bet to nothing each-way -famous last words. Perilously 3.10 Wolverhampto 2 points each-way 8/1 Lads + VC Sam |
|
By:
i looked at this too. I think it will be sold on after this. It obviously hasn't trained on considering the maiden it debuted in.
|
|
By:
Yeah a mixed bag came out of that maiden but i know what you mean with it going off 9/4 fav in that race - Nahrain obviously went on to better things - Inklet who finished just behind Perilously went on to win it's maiden and has a mark of around 75.

Hugh Taylor highlighted Dark Dune getting a bad run around here last time, think he may be right with that one
|
|
By:
Might have got a bigger price if he puts Dark Dune up - Yeah you couldn't help but notice that Dark Dune got a blocked in its run at what was probably a crucial stage of the race but Perilously had to travel three wide for most of the race too.
A small sample but Noseda is 6 wins - 10 placed from 20 runners in first time cheekpieces - his oveall record with any type of headgear first time is pretty good too. The sire and dam sire have a decent record for any of theirs running in some form of first time headgear. Sam |

Cheers lads - decent day but annoying - understaking on the winners - each-way accum - famous last words indeed.
Not for the first time and certainly not the last. Always a rollercoaster and a bigger bet again for tomorrow. Sam |
|
By:
wd sam, another couple of decent winners there
|
|
By:
Yeah, winners at 11/1 ,8/1 and a 3rd at 12/1(DH) - my bigger bet well beaten - Dark Dune one of the easiest handicap winners i've seen for a while.
If Perilously is for sale,at present there would be worse places to send it to than Keith Dalgleish. A profit of +4.02 points today to advised stakes/prices. Earlier this month i could have given the excuse that the difference in profit between advised stakes and level stakes BSP was because of the bigger BSP prices. As it is now the difference is such that it has been poor staking on my part. Not making the best of the winners when they are there has a habit of catching up with you when the inevitable bad runs come along. Bigger bet again for me tomorrow - I've put this up on its last two runs - just run out of it two runs ago and the draw probably didn't help the last time.
First run at Southwell which should suit although you never really know until they've ran there. Quite a few reasons for making this a bigger bet but i don't have the time to go into detail. Greenhead High 12.50 Southwell 2 points each-way 12/1 365 Sam |
|
By:
Dandy probably galloped him around the track? Sire very good record there, but given your homework you know that already! Gl
|
|
By:
Yeah someone will know if its been round the track - Statue Of Libertys 5 wins 7 placed from 15 first run at Southwell - so you would be hopeful Greenhead High will like it there.

looked at Takajan and scrubbed it out .... no doubt goes well here only place it's won but nearly always dwells or slow away .... maybe an IR play seeing as you like it so much ![]() Good Luck |

Probably better that its drawn wider today too although there are a few interesting ones in the race.

Spahi almost saved the day slightly but reverted to type after looking a bit more resolute last time.
Again my bigger bet was disappointing. Refuse To Bend as a sire had another couple of winners today and that might be something to keep an eye on. -6.12 points on the day November +30.08 points advised stakes/prices +75.67 1 point win level stakes BSP Sam |

Hope you weren't taking the biscuit there
![]() First five have produced 2nd 22/1 - 3rd 14/1 - 3rd 14/1 All started shorter or traded shorter - Double Default 22/1 traded at 1.17 and ran a great race. With my Irish selections it's a bit harder to put them up - the bookies tend not to give too much away and in the higher price range BSP is usually better. According To Lizzy went off at 14/1 eventually but BSP was 24.00 and 6.43 for the place - was matched at 7.00 in running. One to go to maybe manage a profit on the day. Sam |
