Nicky Henderson is considering the possibility of taking respective Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle favourites BOBS WORTH and DARLAN straight to Cheltenham without another run.

Not surprisingly Al Ferof is prevalent in the top lists, a bit more surprising perhaps is that he is in every single top 30 list...and probably then a lot more after that...thankfully (on a selfish note)Wink

Leader looks quite solid.

I picked a whole bunch of star horses hoping to nail a big priced winner at the start of the comp as it seemed a waste to seek an sp bonus on odds-on sorts like BB or SS.

Unfortunately Cause Of Causes went under my radar and I have a bunch of duffers with only a bit of place money to show for my cunning plan. Sad

Think I'm toast in the mini-league too.

I ignored the bonus points thing too, but thought that i'd be sacrificing a chancer to put another solid 50 points scorer in.

The leader is a good example because he's got cause of causes, but you could say he's got that one in place of HF, which is going to score most overall?, HF will be past him if he wins next time, even before the champion hurdle, don't think he'll be on top for much longer as he'll disappear if HF wins. Hows that for sour grapes!!Laugh

Agree, HF could be a huge omission.

I was just impressed to see a list with BB as the lowest scorer and the other nine looking cosy, including an unpopular star horse.

I just think hitting a massive star horse (with nine other decent scorers) could blow the competition away.

Just a shame it won't be me.

If Cheltenham is heavy next week, will Sprinter Sacre run
By:

I think so...they will be desperate to get a run into him, and there will be plenty of recovery time til the Festival.

With just One day (saturday) to go in the monthly prize, anyone of the top five can win, but the leader must surely be doing a snow dance...

if I were him I would be backing the meeting to be on at 5/6 with Corral's to the tune of a consilation £3,000

Chelts in talks with BHA over runing the  meeting on Sunday, will be a cruel blow if one of the top five in the mini comp gets the winners of the bonus races and they dont count.

Tidal Bay, Oscar Whiskey & Sprinter Sacre winning might get me close in the mini league. Shame Grandouet won't be able to run at Doncaster. Of course there are few other potential flies in the ointment.

So hopefully racing goes ahead.

Actually, there's a list above me with those three running. Needed Grandouet to chip in as well.

Larkhill cancelled too. Just going to have to stay in and watch the ball hit the crossbar. Damn snow, it was fun for a few days but now it's just a mess.

Sad

I'm up to 1823rd with 395pts.

Can't see me getting into the money unless I win 7 races at The Festival on one line.

I think I'll only do a few entries on the flat.  The prize will be rubbish anyway and I don't like how they are running it.

They need to try Grands Crus over much shorter I think.

Doesn't seem the most resolute horse anymore, and being allowed to bowl along over a shorther trip might see him to his best advantage, and maybe on better ground (if we ever get it).

Well a surprising 23rd in the mini, despite two poor selections, but then again I only gave it 10 mins thought.

Absolute pants in the main comp, despite studying for days.

Might try to plot something if they have another mini comp for Chelts.

When Grands Crus won the Feltham the going stick was 7.7 (good) and he was at the limit of his stamina with both SC and Bobs closing, the chase course was running 20 lengths faster than the hurdle course that day. He was beaten 6 lengths by Bb's at Liverpool on g/s ground but less than 2 lengths on good ground at the Chelts both 3m hurdles.. All his best performances have come on decent ground,  his two runs this year have been on attrocious.

I think you hit the nail on the head Joci

I said to a mate before the Argento, I was torn between wanting the points on the board for Grand Crus or seeing him as a blatant non-stayer and subsequently ending up in the Ryanair... Just have a horrible feeling the trainer/owner will carry on regardless and try to make him a Gold Cup horse

That said, he seemed to be staying on well at the end of the KG - don't know what to make of any of the horse's runs this season...??
