Thanks for that.

So the t0te take more than first prize money out the pool

Notice the entries went up this year - anyone with any theories why? Is it just the Frankel factor getting folks in the mood for the Flat?
By:
Thanks for posting the list.
I am surprised Danedream is so unpopular. You'd think the Arc was a one off, but she had previously pulverised the opposition in a couple of group 1s in Germany. With the fillies allowance, she must have been the clear 2nd best horse in Europe last year. I figure Immortal Verse has got potential injury issues which explains her low popularity. Maybe your average TTFer just can't see beyond the UK and Ireland? |
By:
Discussing Danedream means discussing tactics.
![]() I've said too much. ![]() |
By:
So the correct tactic is to leave the best horses out at the start. Good luck with your cunning plan. She runs Sunday
By:
So she runs Sunday in a group 2 (20 points).
You obviously know how they'll campaign the horse. Where does she go after that? |
By:
Was thinking your post on Dandream reminded me of the poster who came on here after the entries closed and informed us that the USA races weren't included. Then it dawned on me....
By:
Who has ever selected a horse based on what it may achieve in North America? Besides, it's not my job to check people have read their entry form.
You however was pushing the idea that So You Think will run only once in this competition - before the entries closed. I expect So You Think to run in the Tattersalls Gold Cup, The Prince of Wales, the Eclipse and the Irish Champion Stakes. Who tried to put people away, an "average TTFer" like me or an elite player like you? In the future leave it to TEN2FOLLOWER to make the TTF thread. |

Putting people away by pointing to a link to a story and posting all his entries for balance, all before the entries closed. I could just have easily posted on the 5th, but don't see any harm in sharing some info in what is usually a friendly thread.
03 May 12 23:06 Joined: 11 Jan 02 | Topic/replies: 1,865 | Blogger: Dooberama's blog Unfortunately I am clueless but read this http://bloodstock.racingpost.com/news/bloodstock/so-you-think-heading-for-australian-stud-duties/1014331/ COOLMORE Stud has confirmed the imminent retirement of So You Think to stand at stud in Australia. The eight-time Group1 winner will head into quarantine "in a few weeks time" according to a statement from Coolmore. H0wever, the statement appeared to leave the door open for one final race in Europe. It said: "So You Think will join the roster at Coolmore Australia in September at the end of his racing career, alongside Musir, Uncle Mo & Zoffany." The six-year-oldson of High Chapparal, a top level winner in both hemispheres, was last seen out when fourth in the Dubai World Cup. He has these entries 19May12 3:45 (Early closer) at Newbury, JLT Lockinge Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) 27May12 3:10 (Early closer) at Curragh, Tattersalls Gold Cup (Group 1) 2Jun12 2:40 (Early closer) at Epsom, Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup (Sponsored By Investec) (Group 1) 19Jun12 2:30 (Early closer) at Ascot, Queen Anne Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) 20Jun12 3:45 (Early closer) at Ascot, 150th Anniversary of Prince of Wales's Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) 7Jul12 3:10 (Early closer) at Sandown, Coral-Eclipse (British Champions Series) (Group 1) As I say it will be very bad for me if he wins the prince of wales and the coral eclipse. I expect he could meet Frankel in the former and in the Lockinge. He can't run in the Irish Champion because of Australian quarantine rules. I have him in precisely zero entries. |

The ill-informed information you posted was always more likely to put people away than me casually remarking North American races don't count.
"elite player" was sarcasm btw. Throwing hundreds of pounds at multiple entries doesn't make you elite. I just thought I'd highlight your little people "average TTFer" comment. If you want a friendly thread don't talk down to people. |
By:
Jesus. 22000 entries,1700 put Danedream in. Hence your average TTFer didn't put her in. Pretty similar figures for French Fifteen and Immortal Verse. These are just statements of fact and hardly on a par with accusing someone of putting someone away. I am guessing if Danedream was English and not German she would be in way more lists.
I think there is a natural bias in horse betting against overseas horses, which seems to have followed through to the TTF. I thought there could be an interesting discussion on the selection of overseas horses when the 50 pointers are mainly near home. BTW the sarcasm was blindingly obvious. |

Let's keep it civilised chaps....FWIW I didn't find anything offensive or underhand in what Dooberama was saying re So You Think. Based on the info he provided I did scale down the number of entries I had SYT in, but that was my decision based on what I read, and if it proves that I f@cked up, then that's my problem. Neither did I think twice about hippie's comment about US races not counting.
Just checked and we had Danedream in 22% of our lists which means we're overweight compared to 8% of entries as a whole. Another Godawful horse, Be Fabulous ran a shocker today. It's a long season though, and they should be judged at the end of it. |
By:
Overweight Lyric of Light, Discourse and Mandaean. I was beginning to think I could include them again with Al Zarooni on board :(
By:
Discourse 22%
Lyric of Light 17% Mandaean 0% |

Could mean the entries as a whole are seriously underweight if she racks up 60/80 points beating up 3rd rate oposition and then she has to be considered as a sub because she starts to look as though a repeat win in the Arc becomes a real possibility, could even look like your 22% is underweight. I would bet people are already sick that she has appeared so soon. |

Jesus. 22,000 entries,1700 put Danedream in. Hence your average TTFer didn't put her in. I am guessing if Danedream was English and not German she would be in way more lists. Only 3 out of the top 20 are English so how did you come to that conclusion ? Anything below Black Cavaliar falls lower than average selection, so if you remove all above her then a quick rejig of the figures would put the next 35 selections in and around the true average. Just goes to show how diverse peoples oppinions are in the race world. |
By:
Started so terribly through likes of Discourse, Lyric of Light, Power, Dabirsim, Mandaean etc that Frankel's 25 points today is almost cause for celebration :-(
By:
It is called ten to follow, so each list is made up of 240 omissions. I left out a few big names and I'll probably end up regretting one or two, but I find it even more disappointing to include a horse that only confrims the doubts I had at a start.
Two point scorers now, but then again they are #1 & #2 in that list so I'm not alone. Just treading water. Do have one dark horse not in that popular list, so who knows? |
By:
Frankel was 100% for us.
By:
I've missed a lot on here recently.
I swerved So You Think due to his likely short season. Got Frankel in every entry. But I don't think anyone without Homecoming Queen should class their season as over. Unless she wins The Oaks... |
By:
Not entered for Oaks but Coronation Stakes after Irish 1000 would do even more damage
By:
RM.
Isn't there a supplementary stage? |
By:
Could do with Fame And Glory taking the Vintage Crop race today, as he's one of our highly represented horses. Think this might not be his day though, as he'll be up against a racefit Unaccompanied, and might just struggle first time out over a trip possibly short of optimum.
By:
Phew, nice (but narrow) win for Fame and Glory, and a useful 12 points, as he's in 75% of our lists.
By:
Good weekend here with 57pts for three of my lists. |
By:
Danedream is my third scorer.
Ducked F&G (along with StNA & SYT) though. |
By:
Bonus - didn't realise she was running too, another unexpected 20 points.
By:
Fame and Glory was the most popular horse I left out, massively overweight the German filly.
By:
The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and then the King George at Ascot for Danedream, 45 points and an arm twisting substitute for all that didnt put her in.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just realised that one of my lists that I thought was on 119 points is in fact on 69 points, as I mistakenly entered Brown Panther instead of Camelot! ![]() Must have been right next to Camelot on the listing. Teach me to input lists when boozed up! ![]() |

So You Think's potential rivals in Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh come largely from his own stable with Aidan O'Brien responsible for six of the nine entries.
It seems likely the former Australian superstar will attempt to lift the 10-furlong Group One for the second year in a row. |

Corine Barande-Barbe is weighing up the options for Cirrus Des Aigles, who could bid for a fourth career Group 1 victory in the Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp on Saturday, or wait until Epsom the following week for the Coronation Cup.
"He has the Prix d'Ipshan and also the Coronation Cup and it's not yet totally decided which he'll run in," said Barande-Barbefrom her Chantilly base. "I'll see who is left in the Ispahan and who might be running at the Curragh on Sunday [in the Tattersalls Gold Cup], because there are many horses also engaged in the Coronation, and then we'll decide on Friday." |
By:
This is an important horse to us (92% of entries).
By:
Looks like Caspar Netscher runs in Group 1 in Germany this weekend.
By:
sea moon, cirrus des aigles in the next 2 days for me followed by galikova at saint cloud on monday...hopefully

Jim Bolger has ruled Parish Hall out of the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas and the Investec Derby with a leg infection, Horse Racing Ireland have confirmed.

Bolger confirmed the news, saying: "It's not a very pleasant experience getting so close to the race.
But He keeps on doing it, and after another market move at the beginning of the week. |

Another 25 points coming home for the Queen tomorrow
