Good start!
By:
yep, first flat list i've done in years, good start, mind you....with that result, most have had a good start,i suppose where you can take a little extra credit is if you've stuck camelot in to fill 2 spots (guineas and derby) allowing you to free up an extra place for something else.
By:
Yes, though one or two on here considered leaving out the 'hype' horse Camelot.
Managed to get Camelot in 25 lists. Would be great to combine him with the 1000 Guineas winner too! |
By:
Still think Camelot is a 'hype horse' Sintonian, Roobuck, demutants?
![]() |
By:
Another winner in Noble Mission. Not a bad day. Hoping Maybe can be good enough tomorrow. Only have coverage of about 5 of the 1000 Guineas runners.
By:
Camelot was probably banker material for most people. A lot may have hedged heavily in this race and that might take its toll.
By:
hello. 4 lists done all with Camelot. considered doing an all Montjeu list (RIP) Camelot,Wading,St Nick,Jukebox,Masked,Fame,Joshua Tree but didn't in the end....I thought Obrien's comments on St Nick were interesting after the race , banker fo me and he looks to be running in 1m 2f races this season
By:
Interesting reaction Mr M, I don't think I ever said he was a 'hype' horse - merely said I would consider leaving him out if went the Guineas route as, I will admit, I didn't think he would win the race
By:
Did 16 lists in the end. 7x3yo only bonus races pre-sub window led me to put the emphasis heavily on these with only 4 older horses per list. Theory being try & get these early 3yo bonus races covered & any that prove to be dead wood can be effectively replaced by 2 more older horses for the part of the season where the bonus races become all age.

Is everyone posting lists?
I only did six. Three aimed at May and three aimed at the whole comp. |
By:
Not a bad tactic to be fair.
By:
Too many to post up I think.
By:
Cheers JOCI. I aimed at May as it's the one with the clearest entries. I guess the main pot will be about £30k or something as the flat one gets worse every year. Camelot is in everything. My disappointments so far were Meandre and Power as I thought he'd go well today and then win The Irish 2000.

Blimey we must be in a double dip recession with TTF only doing 6 lists !
By:
![]() It's certainly a big cost cut for me. I ususally do 20 or so for the flat. |
By:
TTF for May you might have also considered St Nicholas Abbey, Akeed Mofeed & Noble Mission?
By:
Yes JOCI, and Vita Nova. I'd have put her ahead of NM as she was odds on for her Listed Race today and he was odds against for his. I thought of So You Think as a possible for the Tattersalls Gold Cup too.
By:
did anyone struggle wih the stayers? i thought Fame and Glory was legless after Ascot (bt did win another race i think)
By:
Just F & G here.
Not many dark horses in my lists though. |
By:
i swerved that monster Black Caviar..........fell for the budapest bullet last season
did do that French Fifteen in 1 out of 4 lists, could be a point scorer |

You can say that again.

There's no comparison between Black Caviar and the budapest bullet.
Take a look at Peter Moody's interview on ATR. The contempt he has for any opposition is admirable. He thinks it's ridiculous that he has to travel three-quarters of the way around the world to mop the floor with 'B' rate sprinters for a fraction of the prize money they can win at home. I'm a believer and I'll be disappointed if she doesn't win the Golden Jubilee by at least 3 lengths before turning the July Cup into a procession. The only thing that stops her is the fact they won't run her unless she's 100%. Did we all read the small print that North American races aren't part of the competition this year? |
By:
Yes indeed.
By:
Yes. I was surprised about that.
I expect to finish second overall, beaten by 2pts, but with the Arlington Million winner in my list. ![]() |
By:
gutter....homecoming queen is in the list....that's that then.
By:
Well that's my May lists stuffed.
![]() ![]() Been glancing at book today and wonder if I should have included be Fabulous as my stayer. |
By:
Oh dear. An outsider like last year. That could ruin the comp for most entries, esp if she bags another big race or two. I feared the 1000gns would catch me out, but I didn't fancy filling my lists with outsiders just to see a fav romp hime.
Oh well. Only five months before the jumps start. ![]() |
By:
Only got Homecoming Queen in one list, and that was combined with French Fifteen and not Camelot.
By:
She's a mudlark.
The win paid £25.20 on the tote = 72 points. What odds the monthly prize goes to a list containing 10 O'Brien horses? 1 Cheveley Park Stud entry in the Coronation Stakes (a race they like to target): Starscope. |
By:
Gray Pearl RIP btw.
Was the reason the stall handler couldn't get the stall open because of a design fault or is he just thick? Whatever the reason is, those stalls are the equivalent of the goal-line technology debate in football. They make the game look amateurish and archaic. |

JOCI Club
likewise I only did a couple of lists and I have Camelot and Homecoming Queen but not in the same list!! for what it's worth I liked both HCQ and Up from their last race-it will be interesting to see how Up runs when upped in trip (she is by Galileo) |
By:
Have to hope she's not that well represented overall.
By:
Not that it's important but Gray Pearl in one of my lists...was dreaming of another Ghanati
RIP ![]() |
By:
I can't see Homecoming Queen being in lots of lists I'd have had her down as the maybe the winner of a listed and a G3 this season.
But people who like to get a lot od runs for their money might have included her. |
By:
A win for St Nicholas Abbey would give us a list on 99 points, which I'd be happy with after the first weekend. This has only just kicked off, many many twists and turns to come.
By:
Makes ylu wonder whether you're destined to have any good fortune if you can't even get a 2/5 shot to oblige for you.

By:
Leaderboard up.
99 entries with the wonderful combination of Camelot and Homecoming Queen. |
By:
Looks like most went large on APOB (and who can blame them). If HQueen scores again I'll be eating dust for the rest of the comp.
By:
2,000 + more entries than 2011 flat comp
