By:
Chabal intersting too,innit, imo.
By:
St Nicholas Abbey B-)
By:
Azmeel reverses the form Fran :)
By:
Not sure how he does that, Chabal my early pick
By:
He looks a bit overrated to me Gun. Much rather Coordinated Cut ahead of him but CHABAL look like his namesake a bit now, imo.
By:
had a few bob on desert myth....form ties in with gunnys pic....entered up @ chester ( kris kin :x )
By:
What about Al Zarooni's Godolphin one trev, or you gone off him?
By:
ben he's at the top of the thread :^0
By:
this is only a speculative view as he's probably not going to actually win the Epsom Derby, but he's a bit of a favourite of mine.
Azmeel did drift in the market before the race quite alarmingly, suggesting he needed the run badly, ran that way too and did travel well into it, before Chabal (very well backed and revved up to go (imo) ) got first run and quickened past. Azmeel not knocked about and only got 2 lengths to find. It's not impossible! :) Think he runs at Chester so see how it goes. |
By:
overrated, what makes u say that? i havent seen anywon other than me mention him! lol
By:
wasn't that impressed with his Newbury wins, that's all.
By:
Sadbrokes swerving APOB's Jan Vermeer, Cape Blanco & Midas Touch (big time). I suspect Jan Vemeer will be heading to France. Cape Blanco looks more of a St Leger type on pedigree. Midas Touch, who was fancied to beat JV when they went to France as 2yos could be the value if that was a blip?
By:
Sorry Trev, got a serious headache today, not really with it :|
By:
Cape Blanco B-)
By:
I like Chabal too
By:
got absoultely no idea if he'll end up at Epsom, but Flying Cross is a Ballydoyle colt im looking forward to seeing, should win some decent races
By:
Sure they'll be exploring all options now gunny :p
By:
yeah, not sure what to make of SNA, although I always like Guineas form for the Derby. Other than SNA who can we take from the race for the Derby iyo's ?
By:
I don't think there is anyone else to take out of the Guineas.
By:
captain james cook is an interesting horse for the irish derby
By:
Not a fkn clue
By:
st nicholas will not be beaten again this season .
ran the sort of race i expected. nailed on for derby with a 6 inch nail. |
By:
TD, you don't think Flying Cross hits the ground very hard? I think he looks too ungainly for Epsom?
By:
Cape Blanco (25/1) on fast ground - he will gallop them into submission
Apparently being aimed at the Dante for his reintroduction and won the Futurity Stakes in ireland last year which had previously been won by exciting 2YO's such as New Approach and Hawk Wing in recent years Note Laddies only go 12's!!! |
By:
Zeitoper is my only bet atm as well. Haven't seen them mention him this year at all though. :(
By:
yeah, you could be right redal. Only two i've backed so far are Azmeel and Mikhail Glinka.
Benjy, Zeitoper entered at Chester. |
By:
Zeitoper interests me. Benjy this is a quote from the Godolphin website:
Simon Crisford also outlined plans for Godolphins other potential Investec Derby runners, adding: "I think that Ameer will go to Italy for the Italian Derby and we will see how he does there. "We also have a very nice horse, Zeitoper, with Mahmood Al Zarooni and we will see how he gets on in the Lingfield Derby Trial (May 8) if he runs there, or one of the mile and a half trials. |
By:
Cheers.
Not sure about the Chester Vase though if that is the target. |
By:
Ameer's price dropped though the floor a couple of days ago

I've been using trends for the past 2 years. The first 2 home last year and the first 3 home the year before all fitted the trends well. The trends go back 17 years.
Purely on trends, and considering the entered horses only, these are the candidates: Burj Nahar Cape Blanco Flying CRoss Jan Vermeer Multames Treasure Town Zeitoper That's it. Obviously, some of these will prove useless, but in terms of juvenile form, the key trend is to have run between 1 and 3 times, winning on the most recent start. Another very strong trend , not infallible, but very convincing, is that Derby winners hardly ever lose after winning maiden. Maybe they lose to one horse, especially in the Guineas, but that's more or less it. Others who do not really fit the trends as well but could just about be considered, are Chabal Co-ordinated Cut Joshua Tree St Nicholas Abbey Rain Forest Powerful Melody The one that stands out to me - purely on trends - is Cape Blanco. 7 furlong winner at 2. However, this year we could have a sub standard race, so the winner might not have to be quite as good. I wouldn't rule out SNA yet. |

Is Elusive Pimpers entered in the Derby peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze ? ;\l
