I won £8000 on Sky Vegas last night, am still in shock. Quit playing (only my third ever play) cashed straight out and as the Lord is my witnes am never going to play again because I will never win that kind of amount again, I was VERY lucky. Still cant believe it actually but hey. Be careful out there.

Third times a charm.

i backed karlsson, casey, and Rory to be the 1st round leader on sportbook so not a bad day overall, agree with you about llonen callit i backed him last night he just might get the best of the weather today.

Several posts on the thread, none mentioning Rory to be first road leader, until this pearler pops up the morning after.

Scumbag.

Most In Running prices are for pennies nowdays.
A small example from Saturday's Irish Oaks;Tarfasha jumped out in a good position and the Market(such as it is) wanted on at 2.8.Iput up a Lay at 3.0 for £1,000 and it took 40 seconds to be filled.
This is how low Liquidity is with most unwilling to have a "bet" but, hovering waiting to "steal".
Good luck with that venture.

nice of him to tell us about the liquidity on betfair...horrible at the best of times this guy

Brilliant day. The bookies couldn't give her away it seemed on the course. Not sure what it was like on the TV. The ground wasn't firm, not sure if firm was in the description but it didn't walk fast for me. The race itself wasn't great in my opinion but the filly bolted up and she looks very special. PH didn't even go for his whip until he hit the front and always looked like the winner turning in. She must go for the Arc surely? Would be the race of a long time if she met Australia there. Possible the ground affected Telescope and Magician but both have been a little disappointing a few times. Mukhadram ran another blinder. Not sure if he has improved or that's how good the form is. RH couldn't hear of defeat for his 2 year old and she was my only other bet. Great day.

Great win for Taghrooda. Had my biggest bet of the season on her :D Telescope is no Group 1 horse and giving 15lbs to this super mare was always going to be impossible.

Great race Excited

This is what I wrote on the morning of the race before heading off to Ascot. If it qualifies as after-timing then I am happy to join this elite group.

brigust1 • July 26, 2014 9:34 AM BST
I think the race now lies between the three 'classic' horses. Taghrooda was always destined for the Oaks and shows the mindset of her trainer and the quality she has. Telescope was favourite for the Derby but got sore shins and missed the gig but he was destined for the race and shows the esteem he was held in at the time until circumstances stepped in. And finally Magician who was considered for the Derby but AOB opted for Ruler of the World because he thought Magician was more of a 10f horse. All three were Classic contenders.

I'm going today so will decide how to recover or add to my losses when I get there. Good luck all.

Worth noting I backed Eddiemaurice in the 20:50 at Thirsk today at 11/1

Was also on Indus Valley in the 17:30 at Lingfield at 7/1

Both horses won at an SP of 3/1.

Worth noting indeed, you d!ck.

For the last ten years or so I’ve reduced my betting a great deal mainly due to lack of time.  From about eight months ago I’ve had more time to resume – mainly footy and cricket.  What I’ve found is that the BF markets appear to be much more accurate than they used to be. The halcyon days seem to have gone.

I put a thread up a few days ago called something like “Day 1 of new System” which netted me a 1 pence profit after 14 bets.  It was true.  Various bets I used to make a profit on are no longer viable; the market seems spot on.

These days I can’t see how punters on here beat the odds by taking a stance on a result, the ones that do must be very, very good.  Having said that I can’t remember tipping a bet that I thought would win, why would somebody do that unless ramping, which is, however, a valid tactic.  But I have no time for people who claim to have won a squillion especially those who have bet on an outcome and magically swopped their opinion after the event; there’s a lot of them. I wish the Aftertiming thread on Antipost would step up their activities.

Some juicy lines this week imo!

Chicago 6/5

The line is +3 CHI but we dont even need the handicap for this matchup so we can take the further free money on offer on the moneyline. Panthers D is not what we thought it was, Cam cant run, theyre running backs are injured and Cam has no Wide receivers. No chance they stop or keep up with the Bears offense

Chiefs +6.5

Chiefs whupped an awful New England team which was no surprise to some (I had a free £2 bet from PP and banged it on Chiefs to win by 37-44 points @250/1 lol) - People are slowly starting to see Kaeperinick is not the elite QB many had touted and i expect Smith to show his successor how its done against an out of sorts 49'ers

A decent shout, I thought.... Happy

Wasn't going to bother with this, its not everyone's cup of tea and can be pretty painful viewing for the first 3 days at least, but having backed David Howell at fancy prices last year, I felt condemned to go again.

I won - but had a bigger bet on Tapestry.
Well done to Ryan Moore for saying that the 3 y-o filly angle was overweighted, which in itself was an incentive to back Treve.

Kenny constructed a whole thread around his difficulty in withdrawing his funds from Billies, however, I suspect the point of it all was this gem Cry
